Abstract

Lebak bog farm (fresh water) potency in big enough Muara Enim District, South Sumatera, that is 12.684 hectare, what consist of 6.342 hectare shallow/superficial lebak, 3.805,2 hectare middle lebak, and 2.536,8hectare deep lebak. Lebak bog farm exploiting specially causeway lebak or skin-deep have constraint, that is newly can be exploited in the situation irrigate wet up to height of water ± 30 cm, is later then cultivated by other food crop or paddy while at dry condition cannot cultivate, with such condition of farm can only cultivate once plant in one year (IP 100 %). To overcome the above mentioned problem is way of which is gone through is by applying technology management of better water by making surjan rice field and constructively pump irrigating of problems of water can overcome, goodness when the rains and alsowhen dry season, so that lebak bog farm can be laboured by thrice planting in one year ( IP 300 %).

Abstract

Management of a catchment area should be done properly. For an example, there is no doubt a big mistake has already been done by the local government of DKI Jakarta in managing the 3 catchment areas, such as Ciliwung, Citarum and Cisadane. The management of the three catchment areas is coordinated by DKI Jakarta, together with Province West Java and Banten. The local governments do not have a consistency in planning and developing their region, especially for the supporting regions located in theupstream area. The effect is a big flood happened in Jakarta on the first February 2008. For the small catchment area, such as Cantiga, it is a good example to be discussed. The catchment area is located in district Pondok Aren. Flooding continuously happens every rainy season. The seven causes are no sustainable development program, no cleanly way of life, no good drainage system, unconsistency on regional planning and development program, no intensive conservation program, land subsidence and very high amount of rainfall. To cope with the flood problem and to carry out the flood control action, many consistently applied programs have to be done, ie. sustainable development, mopping up way of life, water front village concept implementation, one river one management concept implementation, artificialrecharge ponds and ground water injection.

Abstract

This study was carried out to verified the characteristics of water void in the conservation efforts in the coal mining area. The general sipnotic surveys were conducted in Surya and Sangatta void PT Kaltim prima Coal on-9 September, 2008. The monitoring data of water pH indicated that the spatial variation inpH in both void were small. The difference in pH between the surface and bottom of void water was less than 1.3.The other parameter such as dissolved oxygen, temperature and turbidity showed that both void have a good water as a normally waters. Stability in in the water quality especially in pH would causedby a smart management in acid mine drainage effort and highly pH buffer condition in mining area.

Abstract

Coastal zone of Semarang area has big potencial in fishery, tourism, industrial and service activities. In development of Semarang’s coastal zone, is met much of environmental problems such as abration, land subsidence, sedimentation, water and land pollution and seawater intrusion. On the other hand, this area has limited carrying capacity and very sensitive to oil spill pollution and sedimentation. Therefore it is need index environmental sensitivity assessment/mapping with Geographical Information System (GIS) technology in Semarang’s coastal zone. For Semarang’s coastal zone development plan, should be: western part of Semarang’s coastal zone is developed as fishery cultivation; central part as industrial, residential area activity and eastern part as fishery activity with special treatment and protection.
