Abstract

Trichopyton mentagrophytes is a type of fungus that belongs to a group of dermatophytes, and a disease that causes dermatophytosis (ringworm), this fungus likes parts that contain keratin substances such as skin, hair / hair, nails or horns. This study aims to determine the antifungal activity of 50% and 96% ethanol extract. KHM testing was made with a concentration of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% with the dilution method to determine KHM. Whereas in testing the width of the inhibitory area (LDH) was carried out after getting the MIC value at concentrations of 10%, 25% and 50% with disc diffusion method to determine the effective LDH and qualitative phytochemical testing. The results showed that 96% ethanol solvent at a concentration of 50% could inhibit the fungus Trichopyton mentagrophytes compared to 50% ethanol as seen from the inhibition zone formed in the width of the inhibitory area. Secondary metabolite compounds found in 50% ethanol extract and 96% ethanol are flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, quinones and terpenoids.

Abstract

Sakit gigi merupakan efek yang dibawa oleh gigi busuk yang disebabkan oleh bakteri yang memproduksi asam dalam mulut. Bakteri ini bertanggungjawab dalam pemecahan fermentasi gula. Bakteri penghasil asam menyerang email yang melindungi gigi, nyeri disebabkan oleh korosif email gigi dan terpaparnya ujung syaraf gigi. Berdasarkan hasil kromatogram kandungan daun sirih merah sama dengan sirih biasa seperti alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan minyak atsiri. Senyawa-senyawa inilah yang diduga berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan pengujian antibakteri dengan mengukur LDH ekstrak daun sirih merah. Simplisia daun sirih merah memiliki kadar air sebesar 1,0239% dan rendemen sebesar  14,4818%. Pengujian dilakukan dengan konsentrasi 2,5%; 5%;  7,5% dan 10%. Data yang dihasilkan dianalisis menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan program software SAS (Statistic Analyze System). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah memiliki kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri penyebab sakit gigi dan konsentrasi yang paling baik adalah 10% dengan rata-rata LDH adalah 16,4166 mm. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sirih merah mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tanin. Keyword : Ekstrak daun, Piper cf ftagile Benth., sakit gigi

Abstract

Water is a source of life that must exist in human life. Water supply crises have hit a lot due to drought disasters from the dry season. Drought is a disaster that occurs slowly due to changes in weather patterns that last a long time. A village that is located in Kediri Regency, namely Butuh Village has experienced a drought. Efforts that must be made can help reduce the impact of extreme climate change disasters. So, this article is used to add insight into the efforts and solutions that can be implemented. Respondents in the study were sixteen respondents with ten respondents who experienced the dry season, five people came to each house for observation. The results of the analysis that the author conducted through interviews resulted in a process carried out by the community by drilling wells and five people using bucket wells. However, if the drilling of wells by means of continuous deepening of the ground hole can have a dangerous impact on the environment. So, the authors provide another solution by making biopores in each house.

Abstract

TiO2 semiconductor is a material that can be expected to play an important role to solve the energy crisis problem through the utilization of solar energy based on photovoltaic devices. Dye sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) is a cheaper alternative to silicon-based photovoltaic cells. In this study, TiO2 nanotube powder is using for the DSSC fabrication process which is produced by Rapid Breakdown Anodization (RBA) technique. Alizarin red S is also used as a sensitizer and the counter electrode is prepared from a deposition of 5 mM H2PtCl­6 solution as a Pt particle on a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass substrate. TiO2 / FTO in DSSC system characterized by FESEM, obtained TiO­2 film thickness about 1,6-1,7 μm and UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. Testing the efficiency value is measured by linear method Sweep Voltametry using potentiostat. The efficiency of converting light energy to electric current obtained is 2.63% and open circuit voltage is 361 mV. Key words : DSSC, Rapid Breakdown Anodization (RBA), Anodization, TiO2 , TiO2 Nanotube-Powder

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of the leaf extract of Piper sarmentosum on mortality and damage levels by pest armyworm (Spodoptera litura). This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Pakuan University, Bogor. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD), with four levels of extract concentration, that is 0% as control, 30%, 40% and 50%.  Each treatment was repeated four times. The variables measured were mortality rates, the extent of damage the leaves, and larval growth. A concentration of EDK 50% showed activity in killing the armyworm by 38%. The lowest level of damage is 5%, with an average growth rate to its lowest larvae by 0.8 cm with the provision of treatment EDK 50%, and the higest level of damage is 75% by a concetration of EDK 30% treatments.

Abstract

One of problems that frequently occursin hospital management is nurses scheduling problem. A suitable schedule is needed in order to avoid fatigue, both physically and psychologically, which subsequently may deteriorate their performance. Nurse scheduling is commonly designed by the head of nurse manually. In this research, a cyclical nurse scheduling problem is modeled in the form of an integer non-linear programming. The objective of the model is to minimize the number of nurses which works for 30 days. Then optimization problem is implemented to nurses scheduling in the Rumah Sehat Terpadu Dompet Dhuafa Parung Bogor. Key words  : Integer Non-Linear Programming, Optimasi, scheduling cycle

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol 30% dan 96% kelopak  bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah konsentrasi ekstrak etanol 30% dan 96% kelopak bunga rosella dengan konsentrasi masing-masing yaitu 20%, 40%, 60% dan 80%, sebagai pembanding digunakan antibiotik amoksisilin 10 ppm. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode difusi kertas cakram serta uji Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) menggunakan metode dilusi padat.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol 30% dan 96% kelopak bunga rosella berbeda dalam menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Ekstrak etanol 96% kelopak bunga rosella lebih aktif dalam menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus karena pada konsentrasi 60% dengan rata-rata lebar daerah hambat sebesar 4,5 mm, sedangkan ekstrak etanol 30% kelopak bunga rosella paling aktif pada konsentrasi 80% dengan ratarata lebar daerah hambat sebesar 4,5 mm. Hasil lebar daerah hambat untuk konsentrasi 60% pada ekstrak etanol 96% dan konsentrasi 80% pada ekstrak etanol 30% memiliki pengaruh yang sama secara statistik terhadap kontrol positif amoksisilin dengan rata-rata lebar daerah hambat sebesar 4,6 mmHasil uji konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM) yang efektif adalah pada konsentrasi 2,5% untuk ekstrak etanol 30% dan konsentrasi 1% untuk ekstrak etanol 96%. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian fitokimia diketahui bahwa ekstrak  etanol 30% dan 96%  kelopak  bunga rosella mengandung saponin, tanin dan flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri.

Abstract

Badminton has been the most popular and preferred game in Indonesia. Indonesia has been participating many world class events and even become the winner several times. However, Indonesia’s athlete  performance  for the last ten years were not satisped and it needs improvement considering un-intensive physical exercise, mental orientation, appropriate coaching method, adequate training facilities and optimal nutrition. The aims of thiswas study  to determine the relation betweennutrional and health status, including the physical and fittness condition of Jaya Raya Jakarta Badminton athletes. The study was carried out is in Jaya Raya Jakarta,appliying  cross-sectional study. The samples were taken purposively from  18 athletes at the age of 17, and the collected data were subsequently edited, arranged in a master table according to the scale, units and norms of the size of each data. The figures are calculated according to the formulas that can apply and convert the list of used references. The data was analyzed using the MS-Excel, SPSS 16.0 and Minitab. The average intakes of energy and nutrients for male Jaya Raya Badminton athletes were about 2931 kcal, 67 grams of protein, 105 grams of fat, 417 grams of carbohydrate and 17 milligrams of iron and women athletes were about 2650 kcal, 64 grams of protein, 93 grams of fat, 389 grams of carbohydrate and 15 milligrams of iron.Based on the level of adequacy, the male athletes are still lack of carbohydrates whereas the female ones are lack of carbohydrates and iron. The average nutritional status of Jaya Raya Badminton Athletes is normally at 21.57 ± 2.27 and most of them are generally in good condition. The athletes 94% show activity metabolic (KM) 2.09. Average scores of physical fitness level  (VO2 max) of male athlete is about 49.8 ± 4.6 ml /kg /minute (sufficient) and the female was 41.4 ± 5.6 ml / kg / min (sufficient). The variable related to the level of physical fitness includes nutritional status  (p 0.01) and physical activity (p 0.01), in which the variations in physical fitness score of 92.4% is determined by nutritional status and physical activities. Keywords : Nutritional Status, Physical Fitness, Jaya Raya.

Abstract

Natural brown color of kluwek is fermented from picung seeds that can be isolated to replace synthetic brown dyes. Natural brown color is come from the Tannin, in which can be obtained by the solvent extraction process. This study aims to determine the best solvent in extracting natural brown color from kluwek using the maceration method based on the maximum absorption of the extract produced. This research consisted of making of simplicia, measurement water content from fresh kluwek and dry simplicia, extraction using 4 types of solvents (water, ethanol, acetone, and hexane), phytochemical extraction, and identification using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The results showed that the yield of kluwek extract with water solvent was 19.42%, ethanol 19.68%, acetone 40,51%, and hexane 45,42% with the color of extract consecutively dark brown, brown, dark yellow, and light yellow. Positive results containing tannins and flavonoid are shown from extraction with water and ethanol, while acetone and hexane extracts were negative. All extracts produce absorption of maximum wavelength at 200-400 nm which containing tannin-rich compounds (proanthocyanidins tannin) or condensed tannins are tannin flavonoids.Key words: kluwek, maceration, tannin, dyes

Abstract

The current utilization of natural materials as a traditional medicine in Indonesia. Aquatic plants has potential as a traditional medicine because it contains active ingredients that are good for health, one of them namely, Padina australis Hauck.The purpose of this study is to establish the most effective concentration of extract of Padina australis as Vibrio cholerae antibacterial and Salmonella typhi. Extract of Padina australis is made by maceration method. Test of the effectivity of extract of Padina australis against Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella typhi. Disc diffusion method Kirby Bauer at the treatment the extract concentration of 50%, 60%, 70%, 80% and control. Results of testing the extract Padina australis against Vibrio cholerae showed a concentration of 80% is the concentration forming the greatest drag areas namely 19.48 mm, while the test results against Salmonella typhi bacteria extract at concentrations of 80% obtained a diameter drag area of 12 mm. Key words : antibacterial, Padina australis Hauck, Vibrio cholerae, and Salmonella typhi.
