Abstract

The Telaga Wama Natural Reserve (CATWA) at Bogor Regency, West Java Province is a biodiversity conservation area, however, the changed of some of the area's functions into a Nature Tourism Park can affect the quality of its ecosystem. One approach to evaluate ecosystem quality is through the analysis of Anura species diversity. The continuity of the Anuras eggs and larvae is influenced by the presence of pollutants in the waters. The availability of Anura species diversity database can be an indication of the aquatic ecosystem quality at CATWA. This research was conducted using the Visual Encounter Survey method at five sampling locations in CATWA, namely river, lake, swamp, forest pond, and waterfall. Observations of tadpoles were carried out twice a week, for four weeks, accompanied by physical-chemical measurements of the waters, namely DO, BOD, COD, temperature, pH, depth, and turbidity. The Anura diversity database is made up of a time series, combining of this study result, and previous reports. This study had identified 10 species of tadpoles from six Anura families, namely Dicroglossidae, Megophyridae, Ranidae, Bufonidae, Rhachoporidae and Microhylidae. The level of species diversity is moderate (H'=2.29). Turbidity and water temperature have the highest correlation with species diversity. The water quality in CATWA was relatively good, and able to support the life of Anura. This is also evidenced by the presence of species representatives from all Anura families in Java Island.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the species of ground cover plant as well as important value index, the level of species diversity and distribution pattern of ground cover in Nature Reserve and Nature Park of Telaga Warna. This research  used the transect method and data collection were using field observation technique. The area of observation consists of three locations with different altitudes including 1400, 1500 and 1600 m asl. Each location is made of three transects that lengthwise the topography. Each transect consists of 10 sample plots measuring 1 x 1 meter with transects spaced 10 meters. Ground cover plant are found as many as 28 species consisting of 20 families. Based on the Important Value Index/INP, obtained the species that dominates at 1400 m asl is Impatiens chonoceras, while at 1500 and 1600 m asl is Scleria laevis. Based on the index of diversity was found that the level of diversity at each location is currently abundant. Based on the index of dispersion was found that the dispersion patterns of ground cover plant at each location is clumped. Keywords:  ground cover plant, Nature Reserve and Nature Park of Telaga Warna

Abstract

One of the toxic anions such as cyanide (CN-) has a negative impact on living things. Pyrazoline derivatives can be complexed with transition metals and used as CN- ion fluorosensor, because pyrazoline derivatives have fluorescence properties. This study aims to synthesize of CN- ion chemosensors based on pyrazoline derivative namely para-di-2-(1-phenyl-3-pyridyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-5-yl)benzene with Cu metal. The resulting complex compounds were characterized using Spectrophotometer Infra Red (FTIR), Spectrophotometer UV-Visible, and Spectrofluorometer. Then, a complex compound chemosensor (fluorosensor) study of Cu2+ was carried out with the addition of CN- ions using a spectrofluorometer. The results showed that the synthesis of complex compound Cu2+ was successfully carried out and a brown precipitate was obtained with a yield of 43% with a melting point of 243.3°C. Based on the results of characterization by FTIR (cm-1) generates 3400 (Amine), 2920.88-2852.42 (C-H pyridine), 2360.38 (C=N), 1594.50-1490.39 (C=C aromatic), 1233.67-1021.17 (C-N),  982.66 (Cu-O), 348.00 (Cu-N), and 320-280 (Cu-Cl). The results of the spectroscopy UV-Visible analysis Cu2+ complex compounds at a concentration of 5x10-5 M obtained two absorption peaks, 242 nm and 306 nm. The result of the spectrofluorometer analysis of Cu2+ complex compound were 1516 a.u at a wavelength of 502 nm. The results of the chemosensor (fluorosensor) studies of the Cu2+ complex compound with the addition of CN- ions can be used as a turn on-off  type fluorosensor.

Abstract

This research aim to determine the influence of hydrocracking temperature variation to refraction index of hydrocracking castor oil product by using Mo-active natural zeolite catalyst. Hydrocracking process of castor oil was conducted with variation of temperature 250oC, 300oC, 350oC, 400oC, 450oC, 500oC and 550oC, whereas the flow rate of hydrogen gases 3.5 mL/min and the weight of catalyst 1.5 g. The refraction index of hydrocracking product of castor oil was analysed by using refractometer instrument. The result of this research showed that the best value of refraction index was 1.4681 which operated at 300oC temperature of hydrocracking. Key words : hydrocracking, catalyst, castor oil, refraction index

Abstract

Anura includes frogs and toads, playing an important role as ecosystem quality bioindicators, as well as insect population control. Anura is very sensitive to changes in the environment, since its egg stadium. Disruption to its natural habitat, can threaten Anura's survival. This research is done in the Nature reserve area and Telaga Warna Natural Nature Park. Observations using the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) method. Analyses conducted include the calculation of the species diversity index of Shannon-Wienner, the frequency of species meetings, and the density of species. The results of the research gained 11 species of Anura from 5 families, namely Megophryidae, Microhylidae, Ranidae, Dicroglossidae, and Rhacoporidae. The level of diversity of Anura species in the research site is moderate (H ' = 0.152). Density ranged from 0.07 to 0.24 tails/m2, and the highest density is demonstrated by the Rhacophorus margaritifer. The frequency of meetings at a sampling location ranges from 0.01 to 3.6%, with the highest frequency being Rana chalconota. Generally, the quality of the ecosystem of Telaga Warna is good, especially in the area of Gayung Swamp

Abstract

The Objectivie of this study was to analyze the determinants of street food safety issues and formulate of its eradicatian program. The study used Survey methods and was conducted from April to August 2012 in Padang and Serang Districts. The The total number of 96 students from Padang District and 90 students from Serang District were selected purposively. The streed food issues data was taken  through focus grroup discussion of stakeholder (teachers, parents of students, vendors, and staff of the relevant agencies) and was analyzed using Interpretative Structure Modelling (ISM). The result showed that there are six determinats of street food safety issues namely: low level of street food vendor moral; a harmful additive still sold freely; coachingandsupervisiontostreet food vendorare stilllow; very low prices of harmful additives; The  government still allowed the production of a harmful additives;  additional ingredient dangerous; supervision on hawker food producers school children is still not a priority program
