Abstract

This paper explores the integration of technology and innovation in teaching entrepreneurship education to improve Office Technology and Management (OTM) students’ academic achievement in Southwest Nigeria Colleges of Education.  While Technology enhances engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes generally, its use in OTM entrepreneurship education remains underexplored.  The mixed-methods study examined the impact of innovation on outcomes like mindset, skills, and knowledge.  Surveys of 300 students and interviews with 15 educators revealed that technology can boost engagement, motivation, and participation. The key elements, like points, badges, leaderboards, and simulations, were identified for curriculum integration. The study recommends developing innovative technology-based entrepreneurship programmes and provides a framework for educators.  It contributes insights for educators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and students on innovation in education and entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the influence of workload and work schedule flexibility on the work-life balance of shift employees at Hotel Ibis Semarang Simpang Lima. The problem focuses on how high workload and limited schedule flexibility affect employees’ ability to balance work and personal life. To approach this issue, the study applies the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) and Work-Family Balance Theory as theoretical frameworks. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire distributed to 48 shift employees and analyzed quantitatively using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results show that workload and work schedule flexibility simultaneously have a significant effect on work-life balance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.658. Partially, both variables have a positive and significant effect, with schedule flexibility being the most dominant factor. This study concludes that managing workload proportionally and implementing flexible scheduling policies are crucial in achieving employees’ work-life balance.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the functional considerations underlying the community's decision to organize a Wayang Topeng Malang performance by selecting a particular play. Given the high costs associated with staging this performance, the decision-making process has a significant impact on the supporting community. The study uses a functional method, and data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature reviews (books, scientific articles, and mass media publications). Data analysis is carried out through tabulation and interpretation based on the tendency of the function to organize performance. The results of the study indicate that the decision to stage a Wayang Topeng Malang performance is influenced by three main categories of considerations: (1) Consideration of the Purpose of the Performance (for example, for traditional ceremonies or entertainment), (2) Consideration of Interests (both individual and social), and (3) Consideration of the Expectations desired from the performance. These findings confirm that the determination of the play and the decision to perform the Wayang Topeng Malang performance is a phenomenon driven by clear social and cultural functions in the lives of the Malang community.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze students’ financial literacy and its relation to their consumption behavior in daily life. The focus is on differences in financial literacy levels among students and their impact on consumption decisions, including psychological, social, and cultural factors that influence behavior. To address this issue, the study draws on theories of financial literacy and consumption behavior. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively using thematic analysis. The study concludes that students’ financial literacy levels vary significantly and affect their consumption behavior; students with high financial literacy can control spending and make prudent financial decisions, whereas students with low financial literacy tend to engage in impulsive purchases and prioritize instant gratification. Students with moderate literacy exhibit moderate consumption behavior and are susceptible to external influences. This research emphasizes the importance of developing financial literacy through education, training, and digital platforms to foster financial awareness and sustainable money management habits.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of training and development programs at the Mutiara Bawen Vocational Training Center (LPK) and their impact on participants' competencies. The study focuses on the application of Competency-Based Training (CBT) to enhance both technical and non-technical skills, as well as the factors that support or hinder training effectiveness. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews, then analyzed qualitatively using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the training was systematically conducted through four stages: needs analysis, curriculum design, theory-practice implementation (30%–70%), and learning outcome evaluation (Kirkpatrick Levels 1–3). The program successfully increased technical skills by 36.6% and non-technical skills by 25%, with 65% of participants securing employment at partner companies within six months. Training effectiveness was influenced by training facilities, instructor-to-participant ratio, instructor quality, participant motivation, and industry involvement. The findings underscore the importance of synergy among training institutions, industry, and government to develop a training ecosystem that is adaptive to the demands of Industry 4.0.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze financial management and its impact on tenant satisfaction at Kost Ungu Bawen. The study focuses on how financial management is implemented, the extent to which it influences tenant satisfaction, and which financial factors are most dominant in improving comfort and perceived value. To address these issues, the study applies cost efficiency theory, micro financial management, and customer satisfaction concepts. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the owner and tenants, participatory observations of facilities and operational management, and documentation of financial reports and maintenance records, then analyzed qualitatively using a thematic approach. The study concludes that systematic financial management, including cash flow recording, allocation of funds for facility maintenance, cleanliness, and prompt response to complaints, significantly enhances tenant satisfaction. Transparency in fund usage fosters trust and tenant loyalty. The most dominant factors are fund allocation for maintenance and cleanliness, followed by transparency and responsiveness. The findings emphasize that efficient financial management practices can serve both as an operational strategy and a service strategy to improve tenant satisfaction and the competitiveness of medium-scale boarding houses.
