Abstract

This research aims to develop a chemical equilibrium module in guided discovery learning for class XI SMA and determine the level of validity and practicality. This type of research is Research and Development (R & D) with the Plomp model. Plomp model consists of 3 stages, 1) preliminary research, 2) prototyping stage and 3) assessment stage. This module validity test is carried out by 2 chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP and 3 chemistry teachers at SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh using validation instruments. Practical tests carried out by 3 chemistry teachers at SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh and 26 XI IPA 1 students from SMAN 3 Sungai Penuh using practice sheets. Instruments of validity and practice sheets are analyzed by the moment formula Kappa (k). The results of the validity analysis with a mean moment score of 0.80 kappa which is a category of high validity. The results of the teacher practice analysis, and the practicality of the students showed that the average kappa (k) score was 0.88, which was a very high practicality category and 0.88 which was also a very high practicality category. The data obtained shows that the chemical equilibrium module based on guided discovery learning for class XI SMA is valid and practical.

Abstract

Red and blue inorganic pigments dissolve in the structure of the association of microemulsions and liquid crystals. This association structure can be used to make printer ink and ballpoint ink. The aim of this research was to prepare the gel from the water in oil microemulsion and determine and observe how the solubility of red and blue inorganic pigments in the gelation of microemulsion water in oil water systems, anionic surfactants (SDS) and pentanol. Gel preparation is done by the sol gel method. Sol gel is a process of adding inorganic compounds through chemical reactions in solutions at low temperatures. The resulting gel is half solid and has the ability to dissolve pigments more than microemulsions and liquid crystals. The solubility of red and blue pigments obtained on microemulsions is the red pigment 1.4 mg / g and the solubility of blue pigment 1.9 mg / g.

Abstract

This research aimed at figuring out to know about the effect of learning cycle 5E (engage, explore, explain, elaborate, evaluate) towards learning outcomes of buffer solution for XI IPA grade student of Islamic Senior High School (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri-MAN) Padang. The research design was true eksperimenta with Posttest-Only Control Design. The research population was the whole total of eleventh grade of science from MAN Padang which consists of six classes. The technique of the taken sample in this research was Simple Random Sampling. The chosen sample was a class with 32 student as the experimental class that was given learning cycle 5E model and a class with 36 student as the control class was given conventional learning model. Based on the results of hypothesis test using test-t obtained significance smaller than 0.05 which means that the learning cycle model 5E showed significant effect than conventional learning towards the learning outcome of students at material buffer solution of Class XI MAN Padang with an average learning outcomes obtained to that class of experiment that is 74 and grade control 56.

Abstract

Buffer solution is one of the subjects in chemistry that studies concepts and calculations. Therefore, teaching materials are needed in the form of learning modules to guide students in finding concepts, where in the learning module there are probing and promting techniques. This study aims to reveal the effectiveness level of the scientific approach based learning module by applying probing and promting techniques to learning outcomes XI MIA SMA students. This research was conducted in two schools, namely the SMA Development Laboratory of UNP and SMAN 5 Padang. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with the design of the Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design through a purposive sampling technique. The object of research is student learning outcomes. The research instrument used was a test of student learning outcomes in the form of 25 objective questions according to the learning objectives. Based on data analysis shows that the subject is normally distributed and homogeneous so that it can be carried out t-test for SMA UNP Laboratory Development, the value of t ? t1-? is 5.476> 1.684 then Ho is rejected and  SMAN 5 Padang is obtained value t ? t1-? is 3596> 1,126 then rejected by Ho. This means that the experimental class learning outcomes are higher than the control class significantly. Based on data analysis shows the use of buffer solution learning modules based on scientific approach with probing and promting techniques proven effective against learning outcomes with a high category.

Abstract

This result aim to revealed the effectiveness basic law of chemistry based on guided inquiry integrated experiment module to learning outcomes for student class X MIA SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. This type of research is quasi experiment, it by using Non-Equivalent control group design. This population research of student in class X MIA SMA 1 Pertiwi 2019/2020. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. Class X MIA 3 as experiment class and X MIA 2 as control class has been choose. The research instrument cognitive (pretest-posttest) and psychomotor (the assessment sheet) assessement instruments.  Based on data analysis it is known that the cognitive value of the experiment class which is used basic law of  chemistry based on guided inquiry integrated experiment module obtain  the average value of the learning outcomes worth 88,07, control class without module is 78,7. Result of data analysis found that both of sample classes normally distributed and have homogenous variance. The result of the t test at the 0,05 level, the value of tscore is 2,17 > ttable 1,67. The result of  research  obtain that N-Gain experiment class is 0,7 (high) higher that control class 0,6 (medium). The psychomotor value of the experimental class is 83,3 and control class is 80,22.This show that class learning outcomes of the experiment class higher than the control class signitificantly conclution from the research prove that the basic law of  chemistry based on guided inquiry integrated experiment module is effective towards learning outcomes of class student X MIA SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang.

Abstract

Chemistry is an abstract and complex science. Chemical material was studied in the second semester of class XI. The reaction rate addresses the concept of reaction rate, collision theory, factors that influence the reaction rate, the reaction rate equation and the reaction order. This study aims to look at the validity of guided inquiry-based student worksheets to develop critical thinking skills. based on the results of the study the average validity of 0.86. so that it can be concluded that the student worksheet is very valid.

Abstract

Hydrolysis of salt is a part of chemistry lessons taught at second grade of Senior High School in semester II. The characteristic of the lessons are about the nature of salt based on its acid-base structure, calculation, practice and to find the hydrolyzed salt.  The purposes of this research are to develop Problem Based Learning student worksheet and determine its validity and practicality. This research using a 4-D models, there are 4 stage i.e: 1) define, 2) design, 3) develop, 4) disseminate and limited to develop stage. Instruments of research are validity and practicality given to the lecturers of chemistry department in FMIPA UNP, chemistry teachers and students in SMAN 2 Gunung Talang. The result of this research was analyzed with kappa cohen formula. The validity questionnaire analysis by lecturers and teachers obtains 0.89 point of kappa moment with a very high category of validity. While the practicality questionnaire of teachers and students gets a very high practicality category with each 0.98 and 0.90 point of kappa moment.

Abstract

Pencemaran logam berat merupakan permasalahan yang serius bagi lingkungan hidup. Logam berat yang dapat merusak lingkungan diantaranya adalah logam Cu dan Zn. Metoda yang sederhana dan efisien yang dapat menangani permasalahan yang ditimbulkan oleh logam berat yaitu biosorpsi. Biosorpsi adalah suatu proses penyerapan padatan  yang berasal dari bahan alam yang dapat berikatan dengan ion logam dalam suatu larutan. Metode biosorpsi yang digunakan yaitu batch dengan menggunakan kulit pisang kapok (Musa balbisiana Colla) sebagai biomassa. Variasi yang dapat mempengaruhi penyerapan ion logam berat yaitu pH dan konsetrasi. Untuk penyerapan ion logam Cu2+ yang dilakukan didapatkan kondisi optimum pada pH 4 sebesar 16,2468 mg/g dan Konsentrasi 250 ppm. Untuk penyerapan ion logam Zn2+ didapatkan kondisi optimum pada pH 5 sebesar 13,63 mg/g dan konsentrasi 100 ppm. Interaksi anatara biosorben dan ion logam ditentukan  dengan menggunakan persamaan langmuir dan freudlich, pada penelitian kali ini didapatkan kesetimbangan yang memenuhi persaamaan, untuk karakterisasi ditentukan dengan menggunakan FTIR
