Fair punishment for a condemned has been long debated in the universe of discourse of law and global politics. The debate on the philosophical level was no less lively. Many schools of thought philosophy question, investigate, reflect and assess systematically the ideal model for the subject just punishment in violation of the law. One of the interesting and urgent legal thought Jeremy Bentham, a British philosopher renowned trying to provide a solution in the middle of the debate was the doctrine or theory of utilitarianism. The core idea is that the fair punishment should be a concern for happiness of a condemned itself, and not just for revenge. Bentham thought has relevance in several dimensions such as dimensions of humanism, moral and utility.

Abstract

The primary objective of marketing communications is to enhance brand equity as the means of moving customers to take favorable actions towards the brand—that is, trying it, repeat purchasing it and, ideally, becoming loyal towards the brand. Virtually, enhancing equity and affecting customer behavior depends on the effective use of all the marketing-mix elements. While, brand awareness relates to whether a brand name comes to mind when consumers think about a particular product category, and the ease with which that name is evoked. Brand awareness is the basic dimension of brand equity. From an indivual consummer’s perspective a brand has no equity unless the consummer is at least aware of the brand. Achieving brand awareness is the initial challenge for new brands, while maintaining high levels of brand awareness is an ongoing task for all established brands. As a matter of fact marketing communication can influence brand awareness when all tools of marketing mix performed optimally in its application.

Abstract

Tagmemic analysis is a comprehensive language analysis introduced by Prof. Kenneth L. Pike and Evelyn G. Pike from the Summer Institute of Linguistic, USA. This analysis enables linguists to study a language, especially the one which has not been studied before, in a more comprehensive manner. This study attempts to reveal functional slots that be filled by finite verb tagmas in English. The data for this study were taken from various published printed media which have high standard English. Ten different sentences were selected to be analyzed using Tagmemic analysis. Slot-role and four-cell analysis were conducted in this study. The result of analysis shows that Predicate Slot in English must be filled by finite verb tagmas. As the predicate is the essential or obligatory element in a clause construction, the ability to identify the occurrence of finite verb tagmas in English is compulsory. Finite verbs tagmas have different roles depending on the type of clauses. Tagmemes following the Predicate slots also vary depending on the transitivity of the finite verbs.
