Along with the development of technology, every line of business as well as a company that specializes in a construction project requires an information system that can support the company’s operations. The research objective is to analyze, identify the information needs, improve and design an accounting information system of construction materials purchases needed by the management of a contractor company to assist in decision making and address the issues contained in the running system. The research is carried out byimplementing data collection and information, analysis on the running system, analysis of research findings, identification of information needs, and identification of system requirements, as well as a structured design ofobject oriented analysis design (OOAD) and unified modeling language (UML). The result obtained is an improving application design that features document numbering, document filing, and reports. The newdesigned accounting information system of raw material purchases of the construction company can generate a report needed timely, completely and accurately, so that it can be used by the management in decision-making process.

2.64% is the largest defect percentage of aerosol can product of PT Multi Makmur Indah Industri. To improve the product quality, the study focused on the goal of reducing the percentage of defects using the Statistical Quality Control. After gaining control of the company, we can calculate the process capability in the aerosol can manufacture. The next step is identification of the defects causes that arise using the failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) method to measure the defect causes risks and as an input in determining control recommendations. From the observations and data processing, it is recognized that the overall phase of the process has a process capability value above 99%. 80% of defects in the aerosol cans product occur during the process of can making, component making and printing. While the most risking defect cause is the destruction ofmachine B coating on the printing process (RPN = 245) and the quality of the welding wire on can manufacturing process (RPN = 160). Therefore, the solution to reduce the defect percentage is replacing the damaged coating machine B as well as upgrading the quality of the welding wire. Thus, it can reduce the losssale as much as 1.06% (Rp110,716,000) per month.

Image retrieval process of fruits and flowers with CBIR concept was represented by the colors and shapes using adaptive histogram method for color, and invariant moment for shape. To measure the similarity between the query image and the basis data image Euclidean distance function was used, where the result is f(x). Calculations for f (y) through the process of ‘fuzzy-ing’-S curve, where the value of f(x) guides the sigmoid function. The value f(y) on each image than the threshold value based image query. Basically, the algorithm displays the image based on Threshold features, by comparing the threshold value with the value f(y). A high grade value (approaching 1) indicates that the feature of the sample (query) image is similar to the basis data image, and vice versa. The process was continued by comparing the value grades of the image representation of color and form using min operator in fuzzy logic, so that it only displayed several images that have some resemblances in accordance with the original image. The advantage of threshold algorithm and the fuzzy function - compared to other methods – lies in the simplicity method in the image retrieval, so that the performance of CBIR becomes more reliable and effective.

The main focus of the research is excess inventory and motion waste which commonly occur in warehouse and production floor. This research is carried out to minimize the average level and eliminate unnecessary motions, with consideration of electronic pull and traceability system characteristics. Product X, the highest-selling product, is the object of this research. To identify the current condition, the current state Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is developed as the basis to arrange improvement plan to minimize the wastes. Safety stock is determined through average and maximum consumption difference; and reorder point is determined to comply with pull approach. Average inventory level is calculated using continuous review method. The simulation was conducted and it was shown that 8.29 minutes is the maximum lateness. Thus, safety stock and reorder point are adjusted accordingly to anticipate stockout due to lateness. The improvement of process cycle efficiency is shown to increase from 4.1 % to 5.1 % as projected in future state VSM.

Bono tidal current leads to silting of the river estuary. The impact is a change in river line of Muda Island due to erosion and deposition. One alternative construction to overcome such this erosion problem of isGeotube, a construction system that combines geosynthetic material for blanket and sand slurry material for filler. Analysis is performed to ensure the system is feasible through the use of Geocops software to determine the type of suitable geosynthetic material and other parameters such as pump pressure. Another analytical calculation performed is the calculation of the stability of global construction through the use of Slope/W software and the approximate amount of consolidation decrease occurred using one-dimensional consolidation theory, published by Terzaghi. This article also presents the process of field implementation including various obstacles encountered and the solutions. From the results of the analysis and the field implementation, it can be concluded that the use of Geotube system on this project provides satisfactory results and can be relied upon as an alternative construction of erosion problems.

This paper discusses the design of computer programs that is able to discern the characteristics description of water surface elevation data in Manggarai water gate, which variable is the most influential on the water surface elevation model and find a proper flood forecasting model using multivariate autoregressive model. The result of this study is able to assist the water gate officer in delivering early warning, prevention and anticipation of flood countermeasure. The forecast equation model obtained is Yt = 109,.7828 + 0,9291 CHt-6 – 24,484 T t-2 – 0,06245 PM t-2 + 1,4706 KB t-2 in which temperature and water surface elevation is a variable that owns the strongest correlation. This variable owns negative correlation which means that if the temperature falls, the water levels will rise. The coefficient of determination has a value of R2 = 0.4056 and the Durbin Watson statistics for DW = 0.7429.

The application program created in this research is a web-based expert system program for medical rehabilitation of patients with scoliosis. The program aims to make consultation between users and the experts. With the expert system method based on components of medical science this application can help achieve thegoal, that is to make easier for people to recognize and prevent the occurrence of scoliosis, as well as to make easier for doctors making conclusions. Bu using this expert system, students can make decisions quickly when there are problems with Scoliosis disease.

Transactional data are widely owned by higher education institutes, but the utilization of the data to support decision making has not functioned maximally. Therefore, higher education institutes need analysis tools to maximize decision making processes. Based on the issue, then data warehouse design was created to: (1) store large-amount data; (2) potentially gain new perspectives of distributed data; (3) provide reports and answers to users? ad hoc questions; (4) perform data analysis of external conditions and transactional data from the marketing activities of universities, since marketing is one supporting field as well as the cutting edge of higher education institutes. The methods used to design and implement data warehouse are analysis of records related to the marketing activities of higher education institutes and data warehouse design. This study results in a data warehouse design and its implementation to analyze the external data and transactional data from the marketing activities of universities to support decision making.

The layout applied on the production floor of the Department of Mechanic of PT. Jefta Prakarsa Pratama is not considered as an optimal layout. The reason triggered this optimal level, are some backtrack movements that reduce the effectiveness and efficiency of material handling activities. This research refers to two types of calculation methods. First, manual calculation, which is rectilinear distance measure. Second, computerized calculation, which is Quantitative Systems (QS) software. There are three critical criterias referenced in this research, i.e. straight flow of material, more minimal backtrack movement, and more minimal material moving distance. The iteration results using QS software are translated into block layout and then are made as a proposed layout. The rectilinear calculations performed manually are intended to calculate the total of material moving distance. The data processing obtained a re-layout solution which is more optimal for the production floor of the Department of Mechanic, because it could reduce backtrack distance by 75.28% and the material moving distance by 30.03%. The implementation of the proposed layout is expected to reduce the time of material moving activity on the production floor of the Department of Mechanic, so that the material moving process could run more effectively and efficiently.

The analysis and design of sales and inventory information system performed at PT Nur Islami is aimed to identify the organization needs to control and manage the data and information of operational transaction. The result will be used as a base for developing a new computerized system. The activity in analysis and design is focused in sales and inventory activities, which is the main core of the organization. These needs will be documented using unified modeling language. The C# and SQL Server 2005 will be used to design and develop the application and database for fulfilling the needs. This information system will ease the organization in doing their activity in selling and monitoring the stock. On the other hand, it will also minimize the data lost, which is usually caused by the conservative storage mechanism of transactional data.
