Abstract

Studies on the driver's fatigue, must focus on at least two things: the time-of-day that affect by circadian factors, and time-on-task. This paper discusses the risk level of driver fatigue, which generally have to drive in a long duration or more than 4 hours. The risk of fatigue was assessed using Fatigue Likelihood Scoring (FLS) by Transport Canada. Based on interviews with 24 inter-city bus drivers, 18 of the 24 drivers have a very high risk of fatigue that characterized by FLS scores greater than 20, while the rest have a high risk driver that characterized by FLS value greater than 10. A high risk of chronic fatigue that experienced by most of drivers caused by working hours which is more than 36 hours in a week, the duration of the shift of greater than 8 hours a day, lack of time off, the amount hours of driving at night, and the amount of time off.

Abstract

Website development needs to pay attention to usability aspect which consist of four factors: efficiency, effectiveness, satisfactions and error rate. The website of International Office of Diponegoro University provides academic information for Indonesian students and foreign students. The website still has some problem, especially on searching certain information. This research aims to evaluate the design of the existing website and measures the usability. A well-designed website will help users to meet theirs needs and purposes. The methods used in this study are Scenario-Based End-User Evaluation and WAMMI (Website Analysis and Measurement Inventory). Users perform a number of task on the existing website and on the redesigned website and then provide feedback for each task they have done and fill a WAMMI questionnaire as a test of memorability. This questionnaire used to test users’ memory on access process of a page from the site. The results of the data processing of usability test show that redesigned website has better value than existing website on effectiveness, efficiency, memorability and error rate.

Abstract

The government has a strong role to make plans and shape the city. The planning establishment by the government is based on capital-intensive strategic actions, so they can shape the urban spaces according to acertain set of values. These values are made clearly in the patterns of resource consumption. However, they often create a hierarchical gap between the people and the communities. In the city, the economy becomes the basis of how the urban spaces are shaped and created. New economic activities often have the impact in degrading the quality of the spaces. As a result, the city will lose its attractions, and people feel alienated and they become aesthetically unpleasant. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the interaction and appreciation of creative users and the citizens of the city towards the urban spaces, and how they will encourage endless collaboration amongst local citizens to create thoughtful and meaningful designs for the public. The discussion and arguments will be based on some creative activities such as pop up café/store. It has the importance to be a creative generator and become the urban fabric that support the city and be a part of the sustainable cityconcept. The engagement and ideas from the creative activities can be a strong foundation of a good urban space, that have the power to re-shape the city spaces to be more livable. Therefore, it can also bring a new identity and vibrant atmosphere to a certain area as well as to the city.

Abstract

Global trade and the abolition of trade barriers lead to the proliferation of imported food products such as various types of fast food products (RTE: ready-to-eat food) sold by convenience stores mainly scattered in Jakarta. The question is what causes consumers choose certain convenience store to buy RTE Product and not choose another outlet category. To understand consumer perceptions, it is necessary to develop an instrument for measuring consumer perceptions of the option to purchase RTE Product at convenience stores. Variables used in this research are the perception and knowledge of the public/consumers against food safety, store attributes, service, and product attributes. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire with a scalemeasuring1-5 to see the relationship between variables, we used the method of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The sample used in this study was 223 respondents that were divided into five areas in Jakarta, namely Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta. The final outcome of the instrument development process was 25 observed variables, consisting of 4 indicators, which valid and reliable, with T-values for each observed variable is above 2,58, and Construct Reliability values range between 0,76 to 0,853.

Abstract

Accounting module is an important module for a company business process. The roles are in the form of parameter calculation of profits, losses and financial performance based on transaction, which basically is a real-time reporting system. The amount of company needs on accounting indicates that the accounting is one of the resources which support the establishment of a company. Thus, the company constantly improves the accounting performance, especially in handling of receivables, debts, and cash transactions. Evaluations which were performed at SOFI XP-based ERP system aims to provide a solution to a problem that was discovered during the analysis of the system needs. This evaluation was done in two stages: by collecting data and analyzing the system that running in the company. By doing this evaluation, the documentation of system performance and the solution for problems that were found in the company can be generated.

Abstract

Many electronic devices have a network connection facility. Projectors today have network facilities to bolster its customer satisfaction in everyday use. By using a device that can be controlled, the expected availability and reliability of the presentation system (computer and projector) can be maintained to keep itscondition ready to use for presentation. Nevertheless, there is still a projector device that has no network facilities so that the necessary additional equipment with expensive price. Besides, control equipment in large quantities has problems in timing and the number of technicians in performing controls. This study began with study of literature, from searching for the projectors that has LAN and software to control and finding a number of computer control softwares where the focus is easy to use and affordable. Result of this research is creating asystem which contains suggestions of procurement of computer hardware, hardware and software projectors each of which can be controlled centrally from a distance.

Abstract

Over the years, technology is growing rapidly followed by the development of game and its variations. Now, game is easily found on a mobile device. Moreover, game on mobile device can also be used as an excellent medium for learning or often referred as educational game because the nature of educational game is practical, easy to carry anywhere, and tends to be fun. This research was to create a mobile game application for learning with Horizontal method based on HTML 5 and Phonegap and to introduce the method as a method of mathematical multiplication process. This research used the Scrum method for program development. The results obtained showed that the game in this study is considered attractive and received a positive response from the player. Player also found it helpful to know the patterns of mathematics through the multiplication ofnumbers in this game. So through this game the player can perform mathematical multiplication calculations quickly.

Abstract

This research is to provide strategic design of information systems/information technology to the PT. Trikarsa Sempurna Sistemindo. With the design of information systems strategy, it is expected that within the next four years (2012-2015) business developments of PT TSS can be supported appropriately by the system and information technology that has been invested in PT TSS. Data in this research is collected through discussion, study and questionnaires. The collected data is then processed using the methodology of Ward and Peppard and supporting tools that generate qualitative analysis of information. From the analysis, it can be concluded that in order to make the achievement of a good business then PT TSS should do three thing. First, improve work efficiency by automating various processes of information management. Second, improve management effectiveness by satisfying the information needs for decision making. Third, improve or enhance the competitiveness of the organization by changing styles and ways of doing business.

Abstract

Output signal in the form of a step response of a DC motor can be obtained by providing the input signal to the motor in the form of a signal step directly. Step response obtained in this way usually contains a lot of noise. To reduce noise, this research was designed with the aim to get the step response using signal compression method in which the input signal is not a step but a signal with a specific shape given to the motor and if the output signal of the motor is compressed, it will obtain impulse response. Step response of the DCmotor can be obtained by doing the integral to the impulse response. Step response which is obtained using signal compression method will be used to estimate parameters model of DC motor to see the validity of this method. The result of this research shows that the estimated value of the parameters from the step response has value closer to the value of the parameters given to the model of a DC motor. The conclusion of this research is the method of signal compression can be used to obtain the step response of a DC motor model. Further research will be conducted on the actual motor instead of using a mathematical model.
