Abstract

The objective of this study is to develop an online application of mortgage loan simulation. This application is developed based on a web application in order to be accessible anywhere and anytime. This application is expected to help prospective property’s consumers calculate their financial plans related to decisions concerning the amount of down payment, loan term, and the mortgage system model to be selected. There are two models of mortgage in this application. The first is a fixed and cap rate of interest, with the first three years of the mortgage interest rate of 9.75%, the fourth and fifth year interest of 10%, and the sixth year onwards using a rate cap interest with the indication of 12%. The second model is a 2-year fixed rate mortgage with the first two years rate of 8.5% and the third year onwards using adjustable rate mortgage of interest with the indication of 12%. Calculation formula and the interest rates in this application are obtained from Bank XYZ which is in turn applied in collaboration with financial portal www.kontan.co.id. This application has been tested by over 1000 users and the results are well proven and valid.

Abstract

The use of hand phone (HP) as a means of communication is prevalent in all societies in Indonesia. HP-based applications, of course, be a very useful innovation and facilitate all parties to operate the application. Java (J2ME) -based Technology is able to create applications that can be installed almost in all types of HP that exist in Indonesia. How it works using the HP-based applications for Disaster Information System are: the application based on Java (J2ME) installed on HP, then the application will be connected to web service on the Disaster Information System Server. In addition to uploading images, photos or video an event (events), the application is also equipped with the detection of spatial coordinates of the scene.

Abstract

By setting up the right service and product for the customer, the company may increase its marketing effectiveness as well as sales. For that purpose, information on company’s product and sales is highly needed in order to help on decision making process, which expectedly enables company to create value and eventually gain competitive advantage. This research attempts to develop a Data warehouse for PT XXX, which is expected to exhibit useful information for the company without disturbing its operational system. The Data warehouse is developed with Oracle 11g. Apart from that, this research also aims to gather information and knowledge with spatial database. The data mining is conducted by using WEKA application, which compares the algorithm of DBSCAN, K-Means, and EM clustering. Data mining from the spatial data is expected to create area map which indicates sales rate of PT Pos Indonesia’s products. Through this it is hoped that the company may focus more in marketing certain product with particular advantage in one particular area to produce effectiveness. The research outcome indicates that the Data warehouse being developed has already managed to exhibit the receipt report of postal money order (wesel pos), retail stock, as well as retail sales.

Abstract

This paper discusses the implementation of data mining and their role in helping decision-making related to students’ specialization program selection. Currently, the university uses a database to store records of transactions which can not directly be used to assist analysis and decision making. Based on these issues then made the data warehouse design used to store large amounts of data and also has the potential to gain new data distribution perspectives and allows to answer the ad hoc question as well as to perform data analysis. The method used consists of: record analysis related to students’ academic achievement, designing data warehouse and data mining. The paper’s results are in a form of data warehouse and data mining design and its implementation with the classification techniques and association rules. From these results can be seen the students’ tendency and pattern background in choosing the specialization, to help them make decisions.

Abstract

Examination is extremely critical in educational institutions as it is used as an indicator of student’s learning quality achievement. Usually, there are two types of exams – Mid-Term and Final exams.The exam process consists of 3 processes, namely exam preparation, the exam itself, and grading submission. The control process, confidentiality, and efficiency are the main focus in examination improvement. Therefore, to provide the best solution for any potential problems, the researcher comprehensively conducted interviews, field study, problem identification, and analysis. The researcher chooses the Plan-Do-Act-Check method to ensure the best solution. Finally, cost-benefit analysis was run to measure the success of the system implementation. There are two types of benefit, tangible and intangible. This project resulted in a new exam flow procedure, exam information system, and cost-benefit analysis.

Abstract

The artificial neural network (ANN) technology in rainfall prediction can be done using the learning approach. The ANN prediction accuracy is measured by the determination coefficient (R2) and root mean square error (RMSE). This research implements Elman’s Recurrent ANN which is heuristically optimized based on el-nino southern oscilation (ENSO) variables: wind, southern oscillation index (SOI), sea surface temperatur (SST) dan outgoing long wave radiation (OLR) to forecast regional monthly rainfall in Bongan Bali. The heuristic learning optimization done is basically a performance development of standard gradient descent learning algorithm into training algorithms: gradient descent momentum and adaptive learning rate. The patterns of input data affect the performance of Recurrent Elman neural network in estimation process. The first data group that is 75% training data and 25% testing data produce the maximum R2 leap 74,6% while the second data group that is 50% training data and 50% testing data produce the maximum R2 leap 49,8%.

Abstract

This study aims to design a website of the Jakarta regional office of Culture and Tourism by combining the concept of web 2.0 and mashup. This concept combines several APIs (Application Programming Interface) into a new application. The APIs used are Facebook, Google Maps, Twitter, and Yahoo Weather. The created site applies the latest technology and advanced multimedia elements. With the combination of all elements above, a more interactive and dynamic site is succesfully obtained.

Perhaps without the information system, the company’s operations will not be able to work properly because various sectors/divisions rely on business automation process. Planning strategy in an enterprise information system aims to enable companies to determine appropriate strategies in the information system implementation. Setting the information system and information technology strategically needs a way to understand the role of information technology on an organization. Most organizations will not hesitate to review the investment in information technology that has been done because the success of a company is also determined by the application of information systems. Evaluation of experience, success, and failure of the previous application is an important aspect in management strategy.

Abstract

To generate an information system which is in accordance with the needs of company requires an analysis of business processes by observing the running system. Solutions for problems found when doing the business are observed using the systems approach. Object-oriented analysis and design is a method currently used to build an information system. The system development with "Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD)" method stated by Satzinger includes making activity diagram, event table, class diagram, usecase diagrams, usecase description, state chart diagram, deployment and software architecture, first-cut design class diagram, simple sequence diagram (SSD), the sequence diagram (first-cut, view layer, data access layer), communication diagram, updated design class diagram, package diagram, persistent object, user interface. The result obtained after performing all phases is an information system that fits the company needs which is expected to improve the performance and effectiveness in business processes and also support the company's business goals.
