Abstract

Graphic Computers are widely used in various fields, especially in industries, companies, banks and hospitals. At hospital, computer graphics with leading edge techniques support images related to patient's needs. Graphic computer can also be used for shipbuilding and automotive design, as well as decision-makers in an institution, using pictures or images that can be analyzed to produce good forms which the accuracy is still investigated (CAD and CAM). The purpose of research is linking algorithms by creating the right picture or image to a form required by decision makers to associate algorithms Hermite, Bezier, B-Spline in harmonious function of each, so that the curves, images or images are produced better, and can be used in the field of engineering drawings. This research produces an image/ shape/ image which are suitable for designers’ need.

Abstract

The research objective is to develop Web-based and WAP-based communiaction media applications to facilitate communication between the Board of Election Supervisors of Republic of Indonesia (Bawaslu RI) with all stakeholders associated with the public election. The research method used are analysis and design Methods. Analysis includes system analysis, identification of information needs, and the analysis of existing websites. The results of this analysis are used to design the applications of the proposed system of communication media. The design is implemented for database design and structured web-based and WAP-based applications. This research obtains Web-based and WAP-based communiaction media applications that facilitate communication about everything related to the public election.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze sales data from warehouse to distributors, identification of distributor status, and extension periods of active distributors. From the analysis, a data warehouse application is created with user interfaces that are easy to understand so as it can facilitate executive decision making. The analysis is done through the following steps: survey of the running system, analysis of the data obtained from the survey, identification of the information needed for data warehouse creation and identification requirements of the system to be built. Meanwhile, designing a data warehouse uses the Nine-Step Methodology of Ralph Kimball. The result is a data warehouse containing relevant and required information for executives to make decisions. The data warehouse application displays information to the user interface that is easy to understand and quick in making the report. The data needed by the company have been analyzed and produce useful information for executives. In addition, the reports can be generated quickly and the results of the analysis shown in the form of charts and pivot facilitate decision making more rapidly and precisely.

Abstract

Mentoring supports the success of student’s study in almost all colleges. Mentoring activities include consulting, mentoring and enrichment materials, and monitoring the achievement of study for all students. Along with the growing number of students, encountered several obstacles in the process of mentoring such as the limitations of time and place to hold mentoring, the availability schedule given by the mentor, and the inadequate number of mentors. Research methods used include field studies, literary studies, problem identification, and problem analysis. To provide appropriate solutions in response to the existing problems, an information system of mentoring is designed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the benefits of a web application in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of services to lecturers. The research method consists of literature study and data collection analysis based on observations. Implementing a web application, an observation is conducted followed by a comparison on data prior to the implementation. The evaluation results show that the implementation of a web application improves efficiency and effectiveness in the use of time and resources in providing services to lecturers in information access.

Abstract

Large companies which are experiencing barriers in innovation often take a radical step to acquire knowledge, namely acquisition. Though innovation is not the only reason, acquisition will result in the company wishes to achieve competitive advantage affected by the creation of ideas, creativity and innovation. The three points can be achieved more easily when the knowledge sharing within the organization / company runs well. However, the acquisition maybe impacts as a counter-attack for the knowledge sharing culture both in the acquisitor and and company which obtains the acquisition. Therefore, a key to succeed the acquisition is a sharing culture among individuals within a company that runs well or even better. Individuals from the acquisitor and those of the company that obtains the acquisition can adapt to each other and have confidence in order not to hinder them to share knowledge. This study discusses in detail the potential impacts of an acquisition upon a knowledge sharing culture in a company.

Abstract

Evaluated from the level of saturation, Anggrek Campus Binus University facilities are considerably able to accommodate all vehicles to park. However, from observations over the years, even though the capacity still seems able to accommodate, there are still some drivers who have difficulty in placing their vehicle in the provided parking lots. In results, it take a long time for drivers to do the maneuvers. Due to this reason, there is a need to review the geometric conditions of a parking space and user parking satisfaction at Anggrek Campus. The research method is to conduct a survei for the parking geometry in a questionnaire form, which aims to determine the satisfaction level of the parking facility from the user side. The research results acquired for parking plot 4000 x 2400 mm, the type of vehicles that meet the requirements of free space to park in the lateral direction of the plot is city car, jeep, and MPV. As for the parking plot 5000 x 3000 mm, free parking space requirements for the lateral direction meet for all types of vehicles (city car, jeeps, MPV, sedans, and SUVs). Results stated that 39% of respondents are comfortable in terms of ease of parking, 37% of respondents express comfort in opening the car door after parking their vehicle, 24% said parking signs are very useful for them in getting the parking information. However, 22% of respondents expressed their discomfort in the ease of parking due to the geometry of 90° parking pattern.

Abstract

The bridge is a means of connecting roads which is disconnected by barriers of the river, valley, sea, road or railway. Classified by functionality, bridges can be divided into highway bridge and railroad bridge. This study discusses whether the use of I-girder with 210 m height can be used on highway bridges and railway bridges. A comparison is done on the analysis of bridge structure calculation of 50 m spans and loads used in both the function of the bridge. For highway bridge, loads are grouped into three, which are self weight girder, additional dead load and live load. The additional dead loads for highway bridge are plate, deck slab, asphalt, and the diaphragm, while for the live load is load D which consists of a Uniform Distributed Load (UDL) and Knife Edge Load (KEL) based on "Pembebanan Untuk Jembatan RSNI T-02-2005". The load grouping for railway bridge equals to highway bridge. The analysis on the railway bridges does not use asphalt, and is replaced with a load of ballast on the track and the additional dead load. Live load on the structure of the railway bridge is the load based on Rencana Muatan 1921 (RM.1921). From the calculation of the I-girder bridge spans 50 m and girder height 210 cm for railway bridge, the stress on the lower beam is over the limit stress allowed. These results identified that the I-girder height 210 cm at the railway bridge has not been able to resist the loads on the railway bridge.

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) grows very rapidly and affects every aspect of business life to support competition with other companies that have the same field. PT. Matahari Putra Prima has implemented a computerized system as one of its business strategy in achieving the company's business objectives. With the implementation of IT in the company, the role of Service Desk is indispensable in providing services to users. This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation of IT Service Desk of PT. Matahari Putra Prima to the users. This research is expected to increase and improve the quality of IT Service Desk PT. Matahari Putra Prima based on the IT Service Management (ITSM).

Abstract

 To assist the performance of medical technicians in nursing patients effectively and efficiently, information technology appears as a dominant support. Utilizing information technology, patient’s diagnoses can be reported to a doctor as soon as possible, as well as the patient's condition which needs to be monitored regularly. It is necessary to build a monitoring information system of hospital that is able to present timely information regarding the patient's condition characterized by four vital signs which are temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. For the four vital signs monitoring, fuzzy logic concept is implemented. If vital signs approach 1, the patient is close to recovery. Conversely, if the signs are 0, the patient still needs medical treatment. This system also helps nurses in order to provide answers to the families of patients who want to know the development of the patient's condition, as well as the recovery based on the average percentage of Fuzzy max of four vital signs. By Fuzzy-based monitoring system, monitoring the patient's condition becomes simpler and easier.
