Abstract

Manufacturing motorcycle unit in Plant 1 of PT ABC requires engine supply from Plant 2. This has some burden on the operating cost of Plant 1 and the opportunity loss as well due to delay of motor engine delivery. Based on the problem, team proposes additional engine line in Plant 1 to cut engine supply from Plant 2. Therefore, team analyzes this proposal using incremental analysis to determine whether the proposal is feasible or not by comparing before and after condition with result NPV about IDR 967 Billion and Payback Period under 1 year. By this result, team determines that this proposal is recommended to be approved by management.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to develop a computer-based Academic management information system for AMIK LAKSI 31 ASM by using Internet technology which functions to integrate internal processes with the academic learning process. The method of this research includes analysis of campus internal administration process of teaching and learning and development of a computer-based application that supports the process. In analyzing the campus administrative processes, several activities are carried out in order to get both information required and design of application built in accordance with needs. The result obtained is an academic information system model to be used in ASM AMIK LAKSI 31 based on web that can help the institution to improve efficiency and effectiveness of administrative processes and learning process.

Abstract

Technological development that grows so rapidly and the mounting business competition force a company uses technology that can support the work activities quickly and precisely. At this time, the business processes run by XYZ Company is still done manually which hamper the running business processes. This research aims to analyze the company's current business processes, provide functional recommendations, and design an information system for sales, inventory, and purchasing goods that can support the company's operations. The research uses several methods such as literature study, analysis and design of information systems. The study produces an information system for sales, inventory, and purchases which is able to facilitate the transaction recording, up-to-date, and reliable. The results prove that the new system is able to help the company's performance in running several activities in sales, inventory records, and purchase monitoring to support business processes running more quickly and precisely.

Abstract

Every business has a vision for its business plan. Sometimes they face a problem on how to deliver a business plan into a detailed project to achieve their vision. Developing an enterprise project management is one of effective business principles and systems for guiding and organizing that functions to deliver a business plan and to align and integrate processes and information systems. Enterprise project management is a systematic approach for program management and is based on the principle that the vision, mission, and objectives of organization are a set of projects. When effectively defined, planned, integrated, and communicated, business is provided with a totally different view of your organization's ability to define and achieve its objectives. Moving an organization from an old fashioned project management view to the Enterprise Project Management is a shift that is both technical and cultural.

Abstract

A study program which represents a college will always attempt to link its activities with the needs of society and industry as for its graduates to be recognized outside. Various activities such as internships, industry reviews, theses, and others the need to show the results individually and be exposed widely, so that it becomes part of student testimonials at work. Displaying and publishing the work of academic community can be done with the support of information technology through a web-based application, called virtual gallery application, based on a content-management-system. The research object is limited on work of student activities on a study program. The base to manage and publish the work of academic community uses: (1) object-oriented method (2) web-based application development. Theevaluation results make easy the management of the academic community’s work, increase the competitive advantage of the graduates, and be able to improve the quality of a study program at a college.

Abstract

The DES encryption/decryption algorithm is quite a popular algorithm due to ease in learning. Calculations for DES using binary numbers however are very difficult, including 16 rounds required for a full encode. Teaching DES encryption manually is difficult since it requires a long time. It also requires high accuracy for the 64-bit binary numbers, the possibility of mistakes are very high. Besides, the students cannot perform self-check, whether the given task is done correctly. Application of Excel and VBA is used to facilitate observation, comparison, and understanding the DES algorithm. The result is a teaching model using DES for modern encryption.

Abstract

Analysis or the analysis is defined as a study conducted on a discussion of the problems studied in depth to find out the real situation. In this study, analysis of the modifications carried out to assess the influence of such modifications in an increase in production capacity of PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor. Taking into account the physical and technical aspects of data in the field, didapatlah data supporting this research, for subsequent use as a reference from the financial aspect to determine the magnitude of the cost involved in this modification. The purpose of this study was to find the value of the initial investment required in the modification, finding the investment payback period, benefit gained as well as determining whether modification is appropriate or not to apply. Data collection conducted broadly divided into two data technical and financial aspects, and then after that the data is processed through the method of calculation of production, Stoke per Hour (SPH), Gross Stroke per Hour (GSPH). This study also provides recommendations to companies to assess whether the modification is feasible or not to do, from the point of view of project feasibility studies.

Abstract

Indomobil Car Rental (IndoRent) is a rental firm providing service to customer by provides vehicle and qualified drivers. Firm has extensive network by utilizes all network from Indomobil Group. Besides it also have care service network that exists at several big cities in Indonesia. Common service problems for customer is limitation of the number of drivers to service customer, particularly at the busy days where it is difficult for customers to do reservation and get information to rent a car. Company website does not provide rent price and car amount information. This application design is developed from a financial application system therefore making it easy for users to conduct activity or transactions and service that progressively increases. Method for modelling by use of Rational Rose, meanwhile design web application utilizes Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Macromedia Flash MX and Swishmax for its animation.This application utilizes PHP and MySQL. The website of Indomobil Rental Car is expected to be more dynamic and can pull more visitors its, so increases firm performance.

Abstract

The term ‘vernacular’ and ‘traditional’ in architecture context actually has a root meaning which is almost the same; both have the same meaning that can be attached to one form of architecture work which is oriented on locality aspects and historiy of its existence. However, how can we distinguish the two terms? One way to find it out is to do a case study on two traditional architecture buildings: Balinese buildings and Minangkabau buildings taken as the sample study. In general, both building have two criteria: culture philosophy and adaptative modernism. Through descriptive analytical methods, the two building types were analyzed to acquire the definition of the building shapes which can be classified whether they belong to vernacular or traditional. The results show that vernacular architecture is a form of original work which is specified with the content and a very strong local and contextual philosophy proper to its time, while the traditional architectural building is a vernacular masterpiece recognized by acclamation and hereditary within a very long time.

Abstract

Children’s response towards something is different from adults’. If an architect designs the foot of a monument with a beautiful arch, a child will respond it as a slide. When an architect designs a water pool as an aesthetic element of a monument area, a child will respond with a different return, which is a place to shower/swim and play, not for aesthetic. What is this phenomenon? And how can we understand this well? This story reassures us that between adults and children have different concepts of a building or space. With a descriptive approach to literature review, this article examines some affordance-based studies. From the few studies presented, it appears that affordances are not enough to understand why kids play on an informal play space. Semiotic approach can help to better understand why children play in informal spaces.
