Abstract

The goals of the research is to develop a data warehouse loaded from operational database of payment point service in IT business solution provider. The development scope is data analysis using Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools for identifying the trends of transaction and agent registration, and create reports and dashboards. The data warehouse was developed with Kimball method as known as the nine-step design methodology. The data and requirement were collected by observation and interview with Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The data warehouse was analyzed by OLAP tool provided by Pentaho Business Analytics software with additional plugin Pivot4J. The obtained results are the trends of transactionand agent registration between 2014 and 2015. It can be concluded that developed data warehouse can be used as ananalysis tool to know the trends information.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze, design, and implement tuning for the funding database, which include data mart processing that will be used in the formation of analytical reports. The research method used is literature study from a variety of journals, books, e-books, and articles on the internet. Fact findingtechniques are also done by analyzing, collecting, and examining the documents, interviews, and observations. Other the research methods are also used to analyze and design database such as SQL tuning, Partitioning, and Indexing. The results obtained from this research is an implementation tuning for the funding database, in which if it is implemented, it will improve performance significantly. The conclusion is by implementing tuning for the funding database, it can help the bank to improve the performance of database system and decrease time to produce analytical reports.

Abstract

The role and strategy of information sytems in all business sectors that exist at present have a very important priority for the company. This is inevitable because the information system has become an important part in the continuity of a company. Perhaps without the information system, the company’s operations will not be able to work properly because various sectors/divisions rely on business automation process. Planning strategy in an enterprise information system aims to enable companies to determine appropriate strategies in the information system implementation. Setting the information system and information technology strategically needs a way to understand the role of information technology on an organization. Most organizations will not hesitate to review the investment in information technology that has been done because the success of a company is also determined by the application of information systems. Evaluation of experience, success, and failure of the previous application is an important aspect in management strategy.

Abstract

This research purpose is to design a Knowledge Management System (KMS) in Bina Nusantara IT to facilitate knowledge sharing and knowledge management dashboard view to see the development of employee knowledge achieved in KMS. The high turnover rate caused the walkout knowledge. The knowledge is not well structured so that employees often have difficulty in searching for knowledge. Methods of the research conducted by the method of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), model iterations. The next step is formulating a study literature to find references to these problems. Then do a system design in the form of UML diagrams user interface and database. The results achieved in the form of KMS-based design to support knowledge sharing among IT BINUS employees. The conclusion from this study is that spread knowledge can be identified, stored and reused. Through this system, documentation of knowledge is optimized so that it can be a solution for walkout knowledge. There are a variety of KM applications in the system, such as Blog, Wiki, Forum, and Document.

Abstract

Design procedure for reinforced concrete structure in Indonesia is provided by “Tata Cara Perhitungan Struktur Beton, SNI 03-2847-2002”. This code covers analysis method and basic assumptions that can be taken by a structural designer to design a reinforced concrete structure. An engineer has to design a flexural component, one of the structural component. One of the flexural component is beam element. SNI 03-2847-2002 adopt capacity design menthod in beam element design. This paper will be discuss a simple design procedure in beam element, based on  variabel, which is ratio between /b, with b is the balanced reinforcement ratio. The  value is limited to 0,75 maximum in SNI 03-2847-2002. A dactail failure is guarantee in a beam element with  under 0,75. The analysis that have been done before, produce the correlation between Mn/bd2 and which can be a tool for design a beam element. A simple calculation use the table (Mn/bd2 vs ) will be present at the end of this paper.

Abstract

Concerning the several pest attacks in Karawang, Cirebon, and Cianjur districts a mobile computing-based information system is built to accelerate the data flow and early warning information to the person in charge at Ministry of Agriculture. Based on interviews and surveys to the locations planted with rice, corn and soybeans some data of the breadth and intensity of pest attack is obtained, used as the basis design for the early warning data structure. The information systems development method refers to the systems development life cycle (SDLC): identification of needs data and information, analysis and system design, testing, implementation and evaluation system. The result is a mobile computing-based information system of pest control and crop disease early warning that can accelerate data and information transmission that the stakeholders in the Ministry of Agriculture can make decisions quickly and correctly.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to show that ternary cross bifix free code CBFS3(2m+1) and CBFS3(2m+2) achieved the maximum for every natural number m. This research was a literature review. A cross bifix free codes was constructed by using Dyck path method which achieved the maximality, that was non-expandable on binary set sequences for appropriate length. This result is obtained by partitioning members of CBFS3(2m+1) and CBFS3(2m+2) and comparing them with the maximality of CBFS2(2m+1) and CBFS2(2m+2). For small length 3, the result also shows that the code CBFS3(3) is optimal.

Abstract

Binus as an information technology-based campus, the campus electricity needs swell with the rising costs. Energy crisis threat needs to be observed in order to optimally support the operation of the building. To achieve energy savings on Binus Syahdan, an energy audit needs to be done with strategic measures related to saving HVAC systems, lighting and other utilities. Through observation, evaluation of energy utilization can be practiced to obtain recommendation and implementation of efficient energy management. From the results of energy audits and implementation of energy savings within five months, the saving reaches 33.5% on average each month. Thus Binus can save operating costs, have better work productivity and foster a culture of saving that can be continued for other Binus campuses. Sustainability of this activity is expected to bring Binus as energy-efficient campus pioneer in Indonesia, as a positive response to national energy saving programs.

The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of cloud computing and its development as well as the advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing implementation at some companies. Some literature studies from journals, textbooks and internet sources are discussed. Based on these searches it is known that the cloud computing as a technology that utilizes internet services uses a central server to the virtual nature of data and application maintenance purposes. The existence of Cloud Computing itself causes a change in the way thetechnology information system works at an company. Security and data storage systems have become important factors for the company.Cloud Computing technology provides a great advantage for most enterprises.

Abstract

An ensemble method is an approach where several classifiers are created from the training data which can be often more accurate than any of the single classifiers, especially if the base classifiers are accurate and different one each other. Menawhile, feature clustering can reduce feature space by joining similar words into one cluster. The objective of this research is to develop a text categorization system that employs feature clustering based on ensemble feature selection. The research methodology consists of text documents preprocessing, feature subspaces generation using the genetic algorithm-based iterative refinement, implementation of base classifiers by applying feature clustering, and classification result integration of each base classifier using both the static selection and majority voting methods. Experimental results show that the computational time consumed in classifying the dataset into 2 and 3 categories using the feature clustering method is 1.18 and 27.04 seconds faster in compared to those that do not employ the feature selection method, respectively. Also, using static selection method, the ensemble feature selection method with genetic algorithm-based iterative refinement produces 10% and 10.66% better accuracy in compared to those produced by the single classifier in classifying the dataset into 2 and 3 categories, respectively. Whilst, using the majority voting method for the same experiment, the similar ensemble method produces 10% and 12% better accuracy than those produced by the single classifier, respectively.
