Abstract

The problem of sexual education is getting less attention from parents. Most parents think thatsexual education is the responsibility of the school. Sex education that can be done to children isby using audiovisual media and picture cards. The purpose of this study was to determine thedifferences in the use of animated video media and picture cards on the prevention of sexualabuse in school-age children. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with Two GroupDesign. The sample is students of SDN 5 Megang Sakti, totaling 30 students. The samplingtechnique used was purposive sampling. This study uses univariate and bivariate data analysiswith dependent t test and independent sample t test. The results showed that the use of animatedvideo media and picture cards had an effect on increasing knowledge of sexual abuse preventionin school-age children with value <0.05. Based on statistical tests, there are significant differencesin the use of video media and picture cards with a value of value = 0.036. Both media are effectivein increasing knowledge, but there is a difference of 2.3 between animated video media andpicture cards which means that the use of animated video media is more effective than picturecards.

Abstract

Poor nutritional condition is one of the causes of stunting. Parental feeding behavior plays a role inimproving children's nutritional status. The purpose of this research was to discover the correlationbetween parental feeding behavior and the incident of stunting among children aged 24-59 monthsat Sidoluhur Village Working Area of the Godean 1 Sleman Community Health Center. The researchmethods used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional study. The respondents haveconducted 72 parents with children aged 24-59 months who fit the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Parental feeding behavior was assessed using the Parental Feeding Behavior Questionnaire whichconsists of 38 questions. The incidence of stunting was assessed by height indicator according toage (height/aged) were compared with z-score. Data were analyzed using Sommer’s d correlation.The result of the study indicates that parental feeding behavior is not associated with the incidenceof stunted (p = 0,639; r = -0,073). The average of parental feeding behavior mostly with sufficientcategory (59,7%). The incidence of stunting showed that 1 child (1,4%) with stunting and 8children (11,1%) with severe stunting.

Abstract

Preterm infant’s condition is a major risk factor for increased morbidity and mortality rate. Preterm infants that getting treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) will be disrupted due to different factors that causing sleep distrubance on the infant. Due to the critical role of sleep in premature infant’s brain development, that developmental care as nesting is needed to facilitate sleep’s necessary. This study aimed to explore the implication of nesting on sleep quality’s preterm infants in the NICU. Method of research was literatur review study. Articles were collected from several databases including Google Scholar, PubMed, JSTOR, and ScienceDirect. The keywords were preterm infant, nesting, and sleep were searched for original studies. The articles reviewed were indexed article in Scopus and published during period 2010 to 2020. It found 7 articles that related specifically to effect of nesting on sleep quality and period’s preterm infants. The implementation of nesting as developmental care strategy can be combined with other intervention methods such as nesting-swaddling, nesting-variation of positioning, and the use of new nest model. Nesting methods affect the duration of sleep in the active sleep, quiet sleep, and the transitional sleep status. Applying nesting as a developmental care is able to increase duration of sleep on active sleep, quiet sleep, and transitional sleep status.

Abstract

Play is funnies, any spontaneous and activity provides enjoyment. Play is of vital importance forhealth development of preschool child. Play offer ample physical, emotional, cognitive and socialbenefits. The child in hospitalization expressed feelings of anger, fear, insecurity, anxiety, guilt,hopelessness and deep loneliness exacerbated. Personal hygiene is a basic human need. Insufficientbrush tooth can affect child`s health (caries). During Hospitalization, a child may be affected byless brush tooth. These Problem sholud be addressed to allow preschool child to get brush toothtwice days. Role play Dramatic Therapy is a nursing intervention, that may be applied to manageless brush tooth. This study aims to determine effect play role in frequency brush tooth in hospital.This study was conducted in preschool children who treated in hospital with 32 samples. The studywas conducted in 2 September – 27 September 2019. The study was conducted with quantitativeresearch using category comparison, pre and post test intervention. Result; there was a significantcomparison before and after play therapy and frequency brush tooth with 3 days intervention.There was p value 0.007 Role Play Dramatic Therapy in hospital can be implemented on preschoolchildren to increase healty mouth with frequency brush tooth.

Abstract

The impact of hospitalization on children who are hospitalized can cause an anxiety reaction forparents. Some parental anxiety responses can be minimized by providing a complete orientationto parents regarding the process of hospitalization and treatment of children. This study aims todetermine the relationship between orientation and the level of anxiety of parents facinghospitalization in school-age children. This research method uses a descriptive correlation designwith a cross sectional approach. The sampling method used is probability sampling withpurposive sampling technique. The number of samples in this study were 37 respondents. Thedata collection tool used is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the Spearman Rank(rho) statistical test. The results of data analysis showed the value of r = 0.512 and p-value = 0.001which means that there is a significant relationship between orientation and the level of anxietyof parents facing hospitalization in school-age children. Giving room orientation to new patientscan be said to be good and the level of anxiety experienced by parents is a mild level of anxiety. Inconnection with the results of this study, the role of nurses is needed in providing a completeorientation to parents whose children are hospitalized so as to reduce the level of parentalanxiety.

Abstract

Background – Anxiety is a common problem that often occurs in children during procedural treatment in the hospitals. Children’s emotional of response to procedural stress and anxiety may increase distress and influence to children recovery. One of the easy, safe and inexpensive efforts to reduce children's anxiety is through music therapy. Music can make a more positive mood and make coping and emotional wellbeing for children to reduce anxiety. However, there are no existing reviews dedicated to elucidating the effect of music interventions in reducing children’s anxiety. Purpose – To determine the effect of music therapy on children's anxiety. Design/methodology/approach – The research was a systematic review of randomized controlled studies. A comprehensive search strategy was performed using key databases such as PubMed / NCBI, DOAJ, and Science Direct to obtain relevant studies. Data is extracted and checked by reviewers. Each study was assessed based on 4 quality indicators which were adapted from the Cochrane Handbook for a systematic review with guidelines from PRISMA. Findings – 6 randomized control trial articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and the eligibility criteria were obtained. This article shows that the effects of music therapy are statistically proven to be effective and significantly reduce children's anxiety. Listening to music can be used as a potential nursing intervention to relieve anxiety and can be a practical approach to dealing with anxiety and fear in children by paying attention to the type of music that will be given to children. Conclusion and recommendation – Music therapy was effective as a safe intervention in reducing anxiety in children undergoing medical and dental procedures. Music therapy can be considered as an additional non-pharmacological intervention in dealing with clinical situations that cause anxiety in children. Further research is recommended to determine the age of children who will most effectively and benefit from musical interventions during medical procedures.

Abstract

Balai Pengembangan Pendidikan Khusus Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Jawa Tengah menyatakan bahwa jumlah siswa SLB paling banyak adalah kategori tunagrahita yaitu 10.102 siswa. Anak tunagrahita mengalami penurunan fungsi intelektual sehingga memerlukan bantuan seseorang untuk merawatnya (caregiver). Caregiver beresiko mengalami caregiver burden atau beban pengasuhan sehingga rentan mengalami penurunan kualitas hidup. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan caregiver burden dengan kualitas hidup caregiver anak tunagrahita di SLB Negeri Jepon Blora. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional. Sebanyak 76 responden diperoleh melalui teknik total sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan caregiver yang tidak memiliki beban sebanyak 34 orang (44,7%), beban ringan sampai sedang 38 orang (50%), beban sedang sampai berat 3 orang (4%), beban berat 1 orang (1,3%) dan kualitas hidup hampir seimbang antara yang buruk sebanyak 39 orang (51,3%) dan baik 37 orang (48,7%). Analisis bivariat menunjukkan nilai p-value 0,018 (p<0,05) dengan koefisien korelasi (r) = -0,266. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah caregiver paling banyak memiliki beban ringan sampai sedang dan kualitas hidup buruk. Terdapat hubungan cukup kuat dengan arah negatif antara caregiver burden dengan kualitas hidup caregiver anak tunagrahita di SLB Negeri Jepon Blora. Diupayakan pemeliharaan kesehatan fisik dan psikologis seperti pemeriksaan kesehatan dan konsultasi secara rutin terkait permasalahan yang dialami caregiver selama merawat anak.
