Abstract

Phyllanthus myrtifolius (Moon ex Wight) Müll.Arg. and Phyllanthus tenellus Roxb. (Phyllanthaceae) in Java. Floribunda 6(5): 188–194. — Phyllanthus L. is the largest genus in the Phyllanthaceae and consists of 1302 species that are widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. There were 20 discovered species of Phyllanthus recorded in the Flora of Java. However, additional species of Phyllanthus in Java can still be discovered in the future. Therefore, this research was aimed to report any additional information on Phyllanthus of Java. Field exploration was conducted in Bandung, Bogor, Jakarta, Sumedang, and Situbondo. Field observation resulted in the findings of two Phyllanthus additional species within the Flora of Java, namely P. myrtifolius (Moon ex Wight) Müll.Arg. and P. tenellus Roxb. P. myrtifolius was widely cultivated as an exotic ornamental plant, while P. tenellus is a newly recorded alien species to Java. The discovery of these species would increase the number of Phyllanthus species in Java.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman Morfologi Cempedak [Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.] di Kabupaten Bangka Tengah dan Selatan. Floribunda 6(5): 175–182. — Cempedak merupakan tanaman lokal yang diketahui memiliki variasi morfologi, namun informasi tentang keanekaragaman cempedaknya terbatas, khususnya di Pulau Bangka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keanekaragaman cempedak berdasarkan karakter morfologi dari Kabupaten Bangka Tengah dan Selatan. Pengambilan data keanekaragaman cempedak menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Pengamatan dilakukan berdasarkan parameter karakter vegetatif dan generatif. Identifikasi dilakukan di Herbarium Bangka Belitungense dan Herbarium Bogoriense LIPI-Cibinong. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan 7 kultivar cempedak: nangka, tikus, kuning, hutan, bare, kapas dan ular. Bangka Selatan memiliki variasi morfologi cempedak yang lebih beragam dibandingkan Bangka Tengah. Variasi morfologi tertinggi terdapat pada karakter pola percabangan dan bentuk daun. Kulit pohon dominan bertekstur sedang. Bentuk daun dominan menjorong dengan ujung daun meruncing. Variasi bentuk buah mulai dari melonjong, menjantung, menjorong hingga tidak beraturan. Warna kulit buah didominasi warna hijau kekuningan, dengan rata-rata kulit buah berduri. Warna daging buah dominan kuning dengan bentuk biji lonjong.

Abstract

Phenetic Analysis and Distribution of Claoxylon in the Lesser Sunda Islands. Floribunda 6(5): 167–174.  — The genus Claoxylon A.Juss. in the Lesser Sunda Islands (LSI) was reviewed. Eleven species were recognized in Lesser Sunda Islands. Records of C. capillipes and C. fulvescens were extended to the Bali Island. Based on distribution of Claoxylon in LSI, Bali has the highest number of species (7 species), while Wetar shows the least number of species (only 1 species). A phenetic analysis was using Numerical Taxonomy and Multivariate Analysis System (NTSYS-pc) version 2.11a and distribution mapping using Quantum GIS version 2.4. Based on 14 morphological characters grouped Claoxylon species in LSI into three groups. All Claoxylon in LSI belong to section Indica and Affinia.

Abstract

Melothria (Cucurbitaceae): A New Genus Record of Naturalized Cucumber in Sumatra. Floribunda 6(5): 183–187.  — The first record of a naturalized cucumber genus Melothria (Cucurbitaceae) is presented for Sumatra, represented by one cosmopolitan species Melothria pendula. The species has been found during an exploration in the northern part of the island. A morphological description, distribution map, brief discussions, and photographs are given.

Abstract

Keanekaragaman dan Kekerabatan Genetik Artocarpus Berdasarkan  Penanda  DNA Kloroplas matK & rbcL: Kajian in Silico. Floribunda 6(5): 195–206.  — Artocarpus merupakan genus dari famili Moraceae yang memiliki keanekaragaman spesies tinggi. Namun akibat degradasi dan konversi habitat secara berlebihan, keberadaannya mulai terancam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman dan kekerabatan genetik Artocarpus secara in silico menggunakan penanda DNA kloroplas (matK dan rbcL). Sebanyak 2 set sekuen matK dan rbcL dari 48 spesies Artocarpus telah dianalisis menggunakan beberapa software, yaitu BLAST, Clustal Omega dan MEGA-X, serta direkonstruksi secara filogenetik menggunakan metode Maximum Likelihood. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Artocarpus menunjukkan keanekaragaman genetik relatif tinggi pada tingkat nukleotida, terutama berdasarkan sekuen rbcL (0.56). Sementara itu, hasil analisis kekerabatan genetik menggunakan metode Maximum Likelihood, diperoleh gambaran bahwa Artocarpus secara umum terpisah menjadi dua (2) grup atau clade utama, baik berdasarkan sekuen matK, rbcL dan gabungan keduanya. Informasi ini diharapkan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mendukung program pemuliaan dan pelestarian Artocarpus, terutama di Indonesia.
