Abstract

This paper presented the improvement in the performance of the digital sinusoidal signal generator, which was implemented in FPGA, by optimizing the usage of the available memory onboard. The sine wave was generated by using a Lookup Table method, where its pre-calculated values were stored in the onboard memory, and its frequency can be adjustable by changing the incremental step value of the memory address. In this proposed research, the memory stores only 25000 samples of the first quarter from a period of a sine wave and thus, the output signal accuracy was increased and the output frequency range was expanded, compared to the previous research. The proposed design was successfully developed and implemented in ALTERA Cyclone III DE0 FPGA Development Board, and its functionality was validated via functional simulation in Modelsim and also hardware experimental results observation in SignalTap II.

Abstract

In this article we describe new model for determination of fault in circuit and also we provide detailed analysis of tolerance of circuit, which is considered one of the important parameter while designing the circuit. We have done mathematical analysis to provide strong base for our model and also done simulation for the same. This article describes detailed analysis of parametric fault in analog VLSI circuit. The model is tested for different frequencies for compactness and its flexibility. The tolerance analysis is also done for this purpose. All the simulation are done in MATLAB software.

Abstract

The technology based modern agriculture industries are today’s requirement in every part of agriculture in Bangladesh. In this technology, the disease of plants is precisely controlled. Due to the variable atmospheric circumstances these conditions sometimes the farmer doesn’t know what type of disease on the plant and which type of medicine provide them to avoid diseases. This research developed for crops diseases detection and to provide solutions by using image processing techniques. We have used Android Studio to develop the system. The crops diseases detection and solution system is compared the image of affected crops with database of CDDASS (Crops Diseases Detection and Solution system). If CDDASS detect any disease symptom, then provide suggestion so that farmers can take proper decision to provide medicine to the affected crops. The application has developed with user friendly features so that farmers can use it easily.

Abstract

In this paper, we determine an optimal range for angle tracking radars (ATRs) based on evaluating the standard deviation of all kinds of errors in a tracking system. In the past, this optimal range has often been computed by the simulation of the total error components; however, we are going to introduce a closed form for this computation which allows us to obtain the optimal range directly. Thus, for this purpose, we firstly solve an optimization problem to achieve the closed form of the optimal range (Ropt.) and then, we compute it by doing a simple simulation. The results show that both theoretical and simulation-based computations are similar to each other.

Abstract

Scheduling is one of the essential enabling technique for Cloud computing which facilitates efficient resource utilization among the jobs scheduled for processing. However, it experiences performance overheads due to the inappropriate provisioning of resources to requesting jobs. It is very much essential that the performance of Cloud is accomplished through intelligent scheduling and allocation of resources. In this paper, we propose the application of Gaussian window where jobs of heterogeneous in nature are scheduled in the round-robin fashion on different Cloud clusters. The clusters are heterogeneous in nature having datacenters with varying sever capacity. Performance evaluation results show that the proposed algorithm has enhanced the QoS of the computing model. Allocation of Jobs to specific Clusters has improved the system throughput and has reduced the latency.

Abstract

Three phase supply is available in the generating station or grid, were as seven phase supply is required for many industrial applications such as, aerospace, railway and automobile applications. There are different methods in which we can convert 3 to 7 phase using 24-Pulse Converter, Carrier Based PWM Technique, multilevel converter and Multiphase Transformer. The above said methods which are more complicated to design for higher ratings or a pure sine wave will not be obtained or harmonics will be more. For Multiphase power transmission system multiphase transformers are needed. In the multiphase power transmission and multiphase rectifier systems, the number of phase can be designed and developed in multiples of three. Therefore, the variable speed multiphase drive system considered in the literature are mostly of five, seven, nine, eleven, twelve, and fifteen phase. So, there is a need to design and develop special transformer which converts from 3 to 7 phase for different arrangement of input and output. Thus, with the proposed technique, a pure seven-phase sine-wave of fixed voltage/current and frequency is obtained, which can be used for RL load and motor testing purposes. Complete design and simulation of the proposed solution is presented. Analytical calculation and simulation results for RL load is presented in the paper. This model can be simulated by using Orcad simulation software and “SimPowerSystem” block sets of MATLAB/SIMULINK software.

Abstract

This paper presents the application of a System Identification based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique to develop parametric model of experimental dataset of DC Geared motor in feeder machine. The experimental was conducted to measure the input (voltage) and output (speed) data. The actual data is used to be optimized using PSO algorithm. The parameter emphasized is Time, Man Square Error (MSE) and Average Time. One of the best model has been chosen based on the optimum parameters.

Abstract

This article addresses a multi-agent approach to solving the problem of integrating metacognitive incentives into Learning Management System. The behavior of the teacher in a classroom-teaching situation, where teacher adopting the competency-based approach, is characterized by a set of didactic interventions dynamically adaptable according to the actions-reactions of the learners. These interventions are continually subjected to perfection by experience. In this article, we are interested in modeling the multi-agent system in order to help the learners develop their metacognitive skills in a continuous way. The purpose of this system is to supervise the activities and statements of the learner and communicate them to the metacognitive agent. The latter focuses on the assessment of the learner's metacognitive skills in order to trigger, automatically, metacognitive incentives to provide help messages. Integrating the agent for metacognitive control and assistance, allows learners to maintain motivation and confidence, and elicit their attention to the importance of metacognitive skills during learning activity. The "MaSE" methodology and the "agentTool" are used to model the multi-agent system.

Abstract

Due to the dramatic growth in the use of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applications ranging from environment and habitat monitoring to tracking and surveillance, network research in WSN protocols has been very active in the last decade. With battery-powered sensors operating in unattended environments, energy conservation becomes the key technique for improving WSN lifetimes. WSN Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols address energy awareness and reduced duty cycles. The focus of this study is to investigate, through simulation, the effect of variations in various factors that influence the performance results of WSNs. Using MiXiM framework with OMNeT++ simulator, this simulation study proposes modifications in Crankshaft MAC protocol in order to improve its performance. The impact of duration and number of slots, degree of connectivity among the nodes, mobility speed and mobility update interval and also, the impact of sending data packets without preambles are investigated. Based on the simulation results, an improved version of the Crankshaft protocol for WSN is suggested and a comparative study of the performances of the original and improved protocol is presented. The results clearly indicate the superiority of the improved protocol over its original version.

Abstract

This paper states wireless power transfer (WPT) from an AC power supply to a micro implant device in human body. At first, an equivalent circuit of WPT which contains biomedical tissue is constructed with an AC power supply, parasitic components, load resistance, and inductances. Then a state equation which stands for the behavior of circuit is found, and the expression of efficiency is derived as the ratio of the power of power supply and load. Finally an experiment is conducted based on the theoretical calculation, and the error between experimental and calculated result is computed and examined.
