Abstract

Strategic human resource management involves a future-oriented process of developing and implementing HR programs that address and solve business problems and directly contribute to major long-term business objectives. HR management has changed dramatically in recent decades. It was once largely an administrative function focused on day-to-day responsibilities such as employee recruiting and selection and managing employee benefits. Changing labor market conditions and new business thinking call for HR business strategies that include recruiting and retaining the right people, as well as providing ethical and cultural leadership[1].This paper discusses the following issues : The importance of human resource activity , The importance of strategic human resource planning, The changing role of human resource management and nature of work and non government organizations , Technology effect on human resource management and implications for distance training and learning .A field study was conducted to know the attitude of one hundred and five Saudi employees towards the effect of distance learning and training on human resource management and development

Abstract

Embedded systems that monitor and control safety and mission critical system are communicated with by a HOST located at a remote location through Internet. Such kind of embedded systems are developed to be dynamically evolvable with respect to syntax, semantics, online testing and communication subsystems. All these systems are to be dynamically evolvable and the components needed for evolution are also to be added into the embedded system. Architectural  models describe  various components using which dynamically evolvable sub-systems are realised through implementation by using specific and related technologies. Implementation system describe the platform, code units and the interlacing of various processes/tasks to the elementary level of details. WEB services place an excellent platform for implementing dynamically evolvable  systems due to the use of open standards. This paper presents an implementation system that is related to dynamically evolvable communication and other sub-systems using web services technologies.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose to study the modeling and the simulation, using the EMTP code, of the operation in nominal mode of a new high voltage power device, based on the same use principle of an only transformer with shunts, but this time for several magnetrons. This modeling can lead to the determination of the construction parameters of the new transformer, to ensure the correct operation in nominal mode of the new power supply, while respecting the control criterion of the current in each magnetron. The knowledge of these parameters (size of the magnetic circuit, the magnetic quality, the air gap, the size of the shunt and the number of turns, etc .....), determines the cost of the dimensioned transformer for its realization. In the following, we will treat all possible states for operation of this new power supply with two magnetrons (Power supply for two magnetrons: case of two magnetrons in service, case of one magnetron in service and one magnetron in failure, case of tow magnetrons in failure). This provides relative to the current device gains of space, volume, cost of implementation and maintenance.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v4i2.5686

Abstract

Reservoirs are often built in cascade on the same river system, introducing inexorable constraints. It is therefore strategically important to scheme out an efficient commitment of thermal generation units along with the scheduling of hydro generation units for better operational efficiency, considering practical system conditions. This paper develops a comprehensive, unit-wise hydraulic model with reservoir and river system constraints, as well as gas constraints, with head effects, to commit thermal generation units and schedule hydro ones in the short-term. A mixed integer linear programming (MILP) methodology, using the branch and bound & cut (BB&C) algorithm, is employed to solve the resultant problem. Due to the detailed modelling of individual hydro units and cascaded dependent reservoirs, the problem size is substantially swollen. Multithread computing is invoked to accelerate the solution process. Simulation results, conducted on various test systems, reiterate that the developed MILP-based hydrothermal scheduling approach outperforms other techniques in terms of cost efficiency.

Abstract

This paper presents a utilization of improved Gabor transform for harmonic signals detection and classification analysis in power distribution system.  The Gabor transform is one of time frequency distribution technique with a capability of representing signals in jointly time-frequency domain and known as time frequency representation (TFR). The estimation of spectral information can be obtained from TFR in order to identify the characteristics of the signals. The detection and classification of harmonic signals for 100 unique signals with numerous characteristic of harmonics with support of rule-based classifier and threshold setting that been referred to IEEE standard 1159 2009. The accuracy of proposed method is determined by using MAPE and the outcome demonstrate that the method gives high accuracy of harmonic signals classification. Additionally, Gabor transform also gives 100 percent correct classification of harmonic signals. It is verified that the proposed method is accurate and cost efficient in detecting and classifying harmonic signals in distribution system.

Abstract

Current trend in health-care industry is to shift its data on the cloud, to increase availability of Electronic Health Records (EHR) e.g. Patient’s medical history in real time, which will allow sharing of EHR with ease. However, this conventional cloud-based data sharing environment has data security and privacy issues. This paper proposes a distributed solution based on blockchain technology for trusted Health Information Exchange (HIE). In addition to exchange of EHR between patient and doctor, the proposed system is also used in other aspects of healthcare such as improving the insurance claim and making data available for research organizations. Medical data is very sensitive, in both social as well as legal aspects, so permissioned block-chain such as Hyperledger Fabric is used to retain the necessary privacy required in the proposed system. As, this is highly permissioned network where the owner of the network i.e. patient holds all the access rights, so in case of emergency situations the proposed system has a Backup Access System which will allow healthcare professionals to access partial EHR and this backup access is provided by using wearable IOT device.

Abstract

The synchronization problem of chaotic systems using active modified projective nonlinear control method is rarely addressed. Thus the concentration of this study is to derive a modified projective controller to synchronize the two chaotic systems. Since, the parameter of the master and follower systems are considered known, so active methods are employed instead of adaptive methods. The validity of the proposed controller is studied by means of the Lyapunov stability theorem. Furthermore, some numerical simulations are shown to verify the validity of the theoretical discussions. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in both speed and accuracy points of views.
