Abstract

In structures with GaAs, which are the structures most used, because of their physical and electronic proprieties, nevertheless seems a compromise between the increase of doping and reduced mobility. The use of quantum hetero structures can overcome this limitation by creating a 2D carrier gas. Using the COMSOL software this work present three models: the first model computes the electronic states for the heterojunction AlGaAs/GaAs in 1D dimension, the second model computes the electronic states for the heterojunction AlGaAs/GaAs but in 2D dimension (nanowire) and the third model we permitted the study of this hetero junction (steep) wich inevitably involves the resolution of the system of equations Schrödinger-Poisson due to quantum effects that occur at the interface. The validity of this model can be effectuated with a comparison of our results with the result of different models developed in the literature of the related work, from this point of view the validity of our model is confirmed.

Abstract

This paper presents a new circularly polarized microstrip array antenna using dual-orthogonal feed technique. The feed network for 1x2 array is designed using microstrip lines and slot lines by applying double-sided MIC concept effectively. 90 degree phase difference between two orthogonally feed signals os created by choosing appropriate feed point in the feed network to advance one of the feed signals by quarter wavelength (lemda/4) from other. Excellent radiation performance is obtained from this proposed antenna with low cross polar component. The impedence (<-10dB) bandwidth of the array is 9.1% and the 3-dB axial ration bandwidth is 1.85% (9.905GHz to 10.09 GHz). The average  gain is higher than 9dBiC over the 3-dB AR bandwidth. The relation between antenna dimensions and characteristics ia also investigated with a parametric analysis of the antenna.

Abstract

In order to meet the increasing mobile data-traffic, spatial densification of network with several low-power nodes, the high-power macro BS and HetNet are the major key enabling solution. However, the HetNet is unplanned in nature, causes irregularities and interferences that without any user association rules. The appropriate deployment of the femto-cell in HetNet can provide effective traffic offloading, where the alleviate mobbing in the macro-cells can decrease the power consumption therefore it optimizes the user experience. Moreover, the protection is also important for the macro and femto cell users in a network through maintaining the min-max level of interferences. In this paper, we proposed RPRA that comprises two robust approach such as robust power-controller and the robust channel-allocation approach, which can improve the spectral efficiency and user experiences at lower network coverage areas via eliminating the week coverage zones. Also provide high user rate connection by effective interference in an efficient spectrum, lowering in transmission power and cost-effectiveness via less time delay. To show the effectiveness of our proposed model we have compared with several existing techniques and we got significant improvement in throughput, also reduction in time delay and transmission power.

Abstract

This work focused on the association of a seven level Neutral Point Clamped inverter and a parallel active filter. In order to test the efficiency of the 7 level parallel active filter, two reference current generating algorithms are used. The instantaneous reactive power algorithm and the notch filter algorithm. In this study, the instantaneous reactive power method and the notch filter method are presented. Than a section which gives a recall of the NPC multilevel inverter and PWM strategy. A comparison between the two reference current generating algorithms is made. The subjects of comparison are the total harmonic distortion (THD) and the fundamental value of the source current. The obtained simulation results have proved that the instantaneous reactive power technique is better than the notch filter technique. Simulations are carried out by PSIM program.

Abstract

Solar energy is a clean renewable energy and it is available around 89,000 TW on the earth surface. To get maximum power from a solar PV system with minimum power transfer loss is one of the main design objectives of an energy transferring network. Power electronic devices perform a very important character for an efficient PV power tracking system control and either incorporates to transfer the generated power to the ac/dc grid or battery storage system. In this case the duty of the power electronics devices used in PV system is to track maximum power point under different operating conditions of environment, so that power tracking efficiency of solar PV system can be improved. This paper encapsulates based the on performance comparisions on the behavior of MPP under uniform and nonuniform operating conditions and selects the optimum duty cycle for industrially accepted MPPT techniques with their algorithm.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a method to determine spare transformer number and location. Using Markov Chain method, state transition model and steady state probability was used on each 500-kV substation in order to analyze the effect of spare number and location variation with the reliability changes.  To give an actual result of the case study, calculation of spare transformer number and location on 500/150 kV transformers in Java Bali System was analyzed. The steady state probability results will vary depending on the number of spare transformer, these results can then be used to assess the spare transformer needed. The variation of spare transformer location can be used to analyze the best possible location of the spare in order to satisfy the reliability required. The methodology presented shows an integrated calculation for determining the spare transformer number and location.

Abstract

Identifying of compound nouns is important for a wide spectrum of applications in the field of natural language processing such as machine translation and information retrieval. Extraction of compound nouns requires deep or shallow syntactic preprocessing tools and large corpora. This paper investigates several methods for extracting Noun compounds from Malay text corpora. First, we present the empirical results of sixteen statistical association measures of Malay <N+N> compound nouns extraction. Second, we introduce the possibility of integrating multiple association measures. Third, this work also provides a standard dataset intended to provide a common platform for evaluating research on the identification compound Nouns in Malay language. The standard data set contains 7,235 unique N-N candidates, 2,970 of them are N-N compound nouns collocations. The extraction algorithms are evaluated against this reference data set. The experimental results  demonstrate that a group of association measures (T-test , Piatersky-Shapiro (PS) , C_value, FGM and  rank combination method) are the best association measure and outperforms the other association measures for <N+N> collocations in the Malay  corpus. Finally, we describe several classification methods for combining association measures scores of the basic measures, followed by their evaluation. Evaluation results show that classification algorithms significantly outperform individual association measures. Experimental results obtained are quite satisfactory in terms of the Precision, Recall and F-score.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the design and implementation of a front-end for a Vinasat satellite receiver with auto-searching mechanism and auto-tracking satellite. The front-end consists of a C-band low-noise block down-converter and a L-band receiver. The receiver is designed to meet the requirements about wide-band, high sensitivity, large dynamic range, low noise figure. To reduce noise figure and increase bandwidth, the C-band low-noise amplifier is designed using T-type of matching network with negative feedback and the L-band LNA is designed using cascoded techniques. The local oscillator uses a voltage controlled oscillator combine phase locked loop to reduce the phase noise and select channels. The front-end has successfully been designed and fabricated with parameters: Input frequency is C-band; sensitivity is greater than -130 dBm for C-band receiver and is greater than -110dBm for L-band receiver; output signals are AM/FM demodulation, I/Q demodulation, baseband signals.

Abstract

The paper investigates the synchronization problem of the unified chaotic system. The case of identical, but unknown master and slave unified chaotic systems is considered. Based on compound matrices formalism, a unified synchronization control scheme is proposed independently of the unknown system parameter. Simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the presented scheme.

Abstract

Electrical power is considered as a significant part of contemporary life, and an essential element for development. Fossil fuels have been utilized since the beginning of the twentieth century for electricity generation. However, fossil fuels depletion at the escalating pace as well as their formidable negative implications upon ecosystem contributed to increasing interest in harnessing renewable energy sources for producing electric power to meet the growing demand worldwide. In Iraq, the electrical supply is not sufficient to supply 12 hours a day of electricity. Many rural areas, particularly their schools are suffering from the electricity shortage such as Umm Qasr Primary School that located 20 km away from the city centre of Karbala city in the middle of Iraq. In order to overcome this issue, this paper proposes a hybrid system which relies on renewable resources and the local grid to electrify Umm Qasr Primary School. Various combinations of energy resources have been analysed by using HOMER software to estimate an optimum hybrid system. The analysis illustrates that the optimal configuration of the projected system is composed of 22.4 kW PV modules, 59 batteries, and 5738kWh purchased from the local grid which has reduced the net present cost(NPC)from US$ 163791 the current situation to US$60,420 for the proposed system. The simulation findings also demonstrate that detrimental emissions have been reduced significantly.
