Abstract

Sensors are the modules or electronic devices that are used to measure and get environmental events and send the captured data to other devices, usually computer processors allocated on the cloud. One of the most recent challenges is to protect and save the privacy issues of those sensors data on the cloud sharing. In this paper, sensors data collection framework is proposed using mobile identification and proxy re-encryption model for data sharing. The proposed framework includes: identity broker server, sensors managing and monitoring applications, messages queuing sever and data repository server. Finally, the experimental results show that the proposed proxy re-encryption model can work in real time.

Abstract

This paper presents a robust control strategy for a grid connected photovoltaic system with a boost converter by using an integral Backstepping method based on a nonlinear state model, which guarantees the Lyapunov stability of the global system. The system has tracked precisely the maximum power point, with a very fast response and the unit power factor has been observed under different atmospheric conditions. Moreover, the best advantage of the controller is that it’s a good corrector of the grid perturbation and system parameter disturbance. The simulation result has demonstrated the performance of this strategy.

Abstract

We present an analytical model for the I-V characteristics of AlGaN/GaN and AlInN/GaN high electron mobility transistors (HEMT). Our study focuses on the influence of a GaN capping layer, and of thermal and self-heating effects. Spontaneous and piezoelectric polarizations at Al (Ga,In)N/GaN and GaN/Al(Ga,In)N interfaces have been incorporated in the analysis. Our model permits to fit several published data. Our results indicate that the GaN cap layer reduces the sheet density of the two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG), leading to a decrease of the drain current, and that n+-doped GaN cap layer provides a higher sheet density than undoped one. In n+GaN/AlInN/GaN HEMTs, the sheet carrier concentration is higher than in n+GaN/AlGaN/GaN HEMTs, due to the higher spontaneous polarization charge and conduction band discontinuity at the substrate/barrier layer interface.

Abstract

The work with feature of self-power supply by solar cell or by the battery or together at the same time. Therefore, the power dissipation is the big problem in wireless sensor network (WSN) especially when it is works for long time. The efficient method for reducing the power consumption within working is needed. The process of reducing waste power is one of the top priorities of scientists and designers of wireless sensor networks. The aim of this paper is to find the dominant method to reduce the power consumption in the wireless sensor network in order to stay works for long time and maintain the links with other nodes without loss of connection and transfer the information correctly. In this paper, a modified method was invented to minimize power utilization per data bit in a connection. This new method depends on the optimization process for reducing the power consumption as low as possible. All the tests of simulation process were done in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. Numerical results demonstrated that the new method reduce the power when different values of noise are present with different types of modulation. Also the distance that the WSN will reach the information to it will be increase with presence of various noise amounts with different types of modulation. As a result, the power was decreased and the signal was reach more distance.

Abstract

The multi-tier architecture style has become an industry standard in modern data centers with each tier providing certain functionality. To avoid congestion and to adhere the SLA under fluctuating workload and unpredictable failures of Mission Critical Multi-tier applications hosted in the cloud, we need a Dynamic admission control policy, such that the requests must be processed from the first tier to the last without any delay. This paper presents the least strict admission control policy, which will induce the maximal throughput, for a two-tier system with parallel servers. We propose an optimization model to minimize the total number of virtual machines for computing resources in each tier by dynamically varying the mean service rate of the VMs. Some performance indicators and computational results showing the effect of model parameters are presented. This model is also applicable to priority as well as real-time based applications in Cloud based environment.

Abstract

In this work, a new rain attenuation time series synthesizer based on the stochastic approach is presented. The model combines a well-known interest-rate prediction model in finance namely the Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (CIR) model, and a stochastic differential equation approach to generate a long-term gamma distributed rain attenuation time series, particularly appropriate for heavy rain regions. The model parameters were derived from maximum-likelihood estimation (MLE) and Ordinary Least Square (OLS) methods. The predicted statistics from the CIR model with the OLS method are in good agreement with the measurement data collected in equatorial Malaysia while the MLE method overestimated the result. The proposed stochastic model could provide radio engineers an alternative solution for the design of propagation impairment mitigation techniques (PIMTs) to improve the Quality of Service (QoS) of wireless communication systems such as 5G propagation channel, in particular in heavy rain regions.

Abstract

Cantilever sensors have been the growing attention in last decades and their use as a mass detector. This work presents design, modeling and analysis of Triple coupled cantilever(TCC) sensor using MEMS simulation software Comsol Multiphysics with critical  dimensions of 100μm length,20μm width and 2μm thickness. Simulations were performed based on finite element modeling techniques, where different resonant frequencies were observed for different modes of operation. It is also observed that the resonant frequency of the sensor decreases as some mass is applied on one particular cantilever. The various parameters greatly affecting the performance of TCC such as resonant frequency, dimensions, material and pressure or force applied on it.we also observed that while adding some mass on any one lateral cantilever, the resonant frequency of that respective mode reduced.

Abstract

Distal locking procedure is one of the most complex tasks in close intramedullary nailing operation which requires fluoroscopic image to interpret 2-D distal locking position on image related to 3-D distal locking position on the patient site. Hence the surgeon has to perform the distal locking process by using multiple fluoroscopic images which causes a lot of x-ray exposure to the patient and surgeon and is a time consuming task. This paper presents the system integration of a fluoroscopic image calibration using robot assisted surgical guidance. The system integration consists of three parts; distal locking recovery, fluoroscopic calibration and tracking, and robot assisted surgical guidance. The distal locking-hole recovery algorithm is based on characteristic information of the major and minor axes of distal locking hole. The fluoroscopic calibration and tracking is modeled as pin-hole projection model to estimate a projection equation based on optical tracking system. The robot-assisted surgical guidance is developed to overlay a trajectory path using a laser beam for reducing the problem of hand – eye coordination on most surgical navigation system. We integrate each part to complete a surgical navigation system for distal locking process. The experiment of system integration is conducted to validate the accuracy of distal locking axis position and orientation. The results of the system integration shows a mean angular error of 1.10 and mean Euclidean distance in X-Y plane error of 3.65 mm.

Abstract

This paper work present one of the latest meta heuristic optimization approaches named whale optimization algorithm as a new algorithm developed to solve the economic dispatch problem. The execution of the utilized algorithm is analyzed using standard test system of IEEE 30 bus system. The proposed algorithm delivered optimum or near optimum solutions. Fuel cost and emission costs are considered together to get better result for economic dispatch. The analysis shows good convergence property for WOA and provides better results in comparison with PSO. The achieved results in this study using the above-mentioned algorithm have been compared with obtained results using other intelligent methods such as particle swarm Optimization. The overall performance of this algorithm collates with early proven optimization methodology, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The minimum cost for the generation of units is obtained for the standard bus system.
