Abstract

General anesthesia plays a crucial role in many surgical procedures, and it therefore has an enormous impact on human health. There are no precise measures for maintaining the correct dose of anesthetic, and there is currently no fully reliable instrument to monitor depth of anesthesia. In this paper, a novel approach has been proposed for detecting the changes in synchronism of brain signals, taken from EEG machine. During the effect of anesthesia, there are certain changes in the EEG signals. Those signals show changes in their synchronism. This phenomenon of synchronism can be utilized to study the effect of anesthesia on respiratory parameters like respiration rate etc, and hence the quantity of anesthesia can be regulated, and if any problem occurs in breathing during the effect of anesthesia on patient, that can also be monitored.

Abstract

In this Article, we introduce the notion of an ∈φ-contraction which based on modified ω-distance mappings and employ this new definition to prove some fixed point result. Moreover, we introduced an interesting example and an application to highlight the importance of our work.

Abstract

This article discusses the Kalman observer based fault detection approach. The calculation of the residues can detect faults, but if there are noises, uncertainties become very important. To reduce the influence of these noises, a calculation of the instantaneous energy of the residues gave a better precision. The Kalman observer was used to estimate system performance and eliminate unknown noise and external disturbances. Instantaneous Power Calculation (IPCFD) based fault detection can detect potential sensor faults in hybrid systems. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is illustrated by the main application.

Abstract

The user can access data from any server with unlimited data with the security. Multi-user tendency will cost lesser than the expected cost in the single user environment. While dealing with cloud computing, confidential data can be secured from the unauthorized access and internal threats. Cloud servers use smart techniques for achieving this requirement like encryption and decryption of data. The database is stored in the encrypted format on the server & a complex query can be fired on it. Cloud server will maintain the access control policies to reveal the data from the database that are in the encrypted format. In the access control policies, we use KMA (Key Management Authority) which provides the keyset for encryption & decryption of the database. The attributes entered by the user will create one public key which is cipher text based. So this technique is called as cipher text based technique. This key is used for encryption. While registering, user will choose the policy and select the attributes on which security policy is based. Because of this it is called as cipher text policy attribute based encryption (CP-ABE). To achieve this complex encryption, we can use many algorithms like AES or DES encryption algorithms with CPABE algorithm. This scheme allows making SQL-like queries on encrypted database in multiuser environment while at the same time, the database owner assign different access rights to users that defines a specific policy for the database. Abstract

The power networks with reliable transmission and distribution systems require high voltage substations with effective ground grid systems. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the effects of overvoltage on ground grid systems within high voltage substations in two cases, including a single substation and the two neighboring substations, by using ATP/EMTP and ANSYS softwares. The simulations were performed to show both graphs and 3D results when the fault current flowed into the ground grids of substations at various positions. In case of the single high voltage substation, the overvoltage was highest when the fault current was injected at the corner of ground grid. However, in case of two neighboring high voltage substations, the levels of overvoltage were similar between that caused by injecting the fault current at the center and at the corner of ground grid. The simulation showed that overvoltage which occurring at the ground grid of high voltage substation A could permeate to the ground grid of nearby high voltage substation B, which nevertheless depending on the how the fault current was injected at different spots. The data from these simulations and analysis can be useful for future designs of ground grid systems with high reliability.

Abstract

The conceptualization of Electric vehicles has been significant in solving the pollution due to the transportation problem. However, its design and working has not yet been perfected and can be optimized. An effective model of the electric vehicle is the integration of batteries and supercapacitors. In this paper, the optimal sharing of energy between the battery and the supercapacitor is provided by the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The results reveal that the proposed algorithm can better share the energy between the hybrid sources. The simulations are carried out in MATLAB Simulink platform and the results obtained for ECE-15 driving cycle is presented.

Abstract

This study is conducted in order to measure and identify the ability of a bio-composite material to the high voltage. According to it, the developed bio-composite material is tested to ensure the maximum voltage that the material can hold. The bio-composite material which made from a mixture of Bambusa Vulgaris and a selected polymer named as High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). The Bambusa Vulgarisis going through several processes before mixed together with HDPE using wood plastic composite (WPC) technique which also consists of several stages. There are several samples of bio-composite substance are fabricated. The difference among them is the composition of the raw materials (Bambusa Vulgaris and HDPE) used. In this research, the high voltage measurement which also called as breakdown voltage measurement of the bio-composite material is examined by using appropriate experiments. All the experimental results are presented and discussed in this paper.

Abstract

Solar energy is secure, clean, and available on earth throughout the year. The PV/T system is a device designed to receive solar energy and convert it into electric/thermal energy. Nanofluid is a new generation of heat transfer fluid with promising higher thermal conductivity and improve heat transfer rate compared with conventional fluids. In this review, the recent studies of PV/T using nanofluid is discussed regarding basic concept and theory PV/T, thermal conductivity of nanofluid and experimentally and theoretically study the perfromance of PV/T using nanofluid. A review of the literature shows that many studies have evaluated the potential of nanofluid as heat transfer fluid and optical filter in the PV/T system. The preparations of nanofluid play an essential key for high stability and homogenous nanofluid for a long period. The thermal conductivity of nanofluid is depending on the size of nanoparticles, concentration and preparation of nanofluids.

Abstract

The proposed domino logic is developed with the combination of Current Comparison Domino (CCD) logic and Conditional High Speed Keeper (CHSK) domino logic. In order to improve the performance metrics like power, delay and noise immunity, the redesign of CHSK is proposed with the CCD. The performance improvement is based on the parasitic capacitance, which reduces on the dynamic node for robust and rapid process of the circuit. The proposed domino logic is designed with keeper and without keeper to measure the performance metrics of the circuit. The outcomes of the proposed domino logic are better when compared to the existing domino logic circuits. The simulation of the proposed CHSK based on the CCD logic circuit is carried out in Cadence Virtuoso tool.

Abstract

An electric power system is usually exposed to unequal and variable loads across its three phases, which leads to voltage unbalance and variation, making the three-phase voltages asymmetrical in nature at the distribution end. This problem is clearly evident in Iraq country, particularly with regard to the fluctuating voltage levels of electricity distribution during peak hours. Providing a three-phase motor with asymmetric voltages is badly affecting its working performance. Estimating the performance of this motor at steady-state under different conditions of voltage disturbances is investigated in this paper through Matlab simulation using Symmetrical component approach. The motor performance represented by active and reactive input powers, output put power, developed torque, power losses, efficiency and power factor is analyzed under full load conditions. Also, the steady-state power losses- and torque-slip characteristics at certain degrees of voltage unbalance have been calculated and plotted
