A physical connection of computer network must be made reliably. Breaking connection will cause communication between nodes (for example routers, switches, hosts) can be disconnected. One of the solutions is implemention of link aggregation (LA). LA integrates several of physical ports together to make a single logical communication link. Accordingly, there is load sharing traffic among the member port of the group, high-throughput increasing via a single link, and redundancy providing for broken links. We present the implementation of link aggregation using Ryu controller on Software Defined Network (SDN) topology. The results show that the implementation of SDN with OpenvSwitch and Ryu controller can successfully run link aggregation function to solve the problem of link failure.

Biometric recognition systems have been attracted numerous researchers since they attempt to overcome the problems and factors weakening these systems including problems of obtaining images indeed not appearing the resolution or the object completely. In this work, the object movement reliance was considered to distinguish the human through his/her gait. Some losing features probably weaken the system’s capability in recognizing the people, hence, we propose using all data recorded by the Kinect sensor with no employing the feature extraction methods based on the literature. In these studies, coordinates of 20 points are recorded for each person in various genders and ages, walking with various directions and speeds, creating 8404 constraints. Moreover, pre-processing methods are utilized to measure its influences on the system efficiency through testing on six types of classifiers. Within the proposed approach, a noteworthy recognition rate was obtained reaching 91% without examining the descriptors.

All the real-time systems are bound with response time constraints, or else, there is a risk of severe consequences, which includes failure. The System will fail when not able to meet the requirements according to the specifications. The problem of real-time scheduling is very vast, ranging from uni-processor to complicated-multiprocessor. In this paper, we have compared the performance of real-time tasks that should be scheduled properly, to get optimum performance. Analysis methodology and the concept of optimization leads to the design of appropriate scheduling. We have done the analysis among RM and EDF algorithm that are important for scheduling in uni-processor.

This paper aims to simulate a wind farm model that includes a wind turbine and three different types of generators , which are three-phase synchronous generator, three-phase squirrel-cage induction generatorand three-phase doubly-fed induction generator ,these generators are the main machines that generally used in the field of wind energy generation. All generators are connected in parallel at the point of common coupling(pcc) and connected to the utility grid . This model is a simple representation of the actual model of zafarana, which is the biggest wind farm in Egypt and further to use it in different kinds of simulations, and display the difference in response among all generators with thesame power rating (500 kw) and subjected to the same operating conditions and faults. This paper describes the simulation of the differentfaults that occur along the transmission line of the power system such as single-line fault, line to line fault, double lines to ground fault, and finally three line faults. The response of the wind turbine and the different generators will be analyzed and discussed to compare the transient response of all generators at the different types of faults, where the fault period is selected to be 300 ms. The model is created in MATLAB software that enables the dynamic and static simulations of electric, electromagnetic and electromechanical systems. The machines are standard blocks in the software library.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v2i1.113

In recent years, two new data clustering algorithms have been proposed. One of them isAffinity Propagation (AP). AP is a new data clustering technique that use iterative message passing and consider all data points as potential exemplars. Two important inputs of AP are a similarity matrix (SM) of the data and the parameter ”preference” p. Although the original AP algorithm has shown much success in data clustering, it still suffer from one limitation: it is not easy to determine the value of the parameter ”preference” p which can result an optimal clustering solution. To resolve this limitation, we propose a new model of the parameter ”preference” p, i.e. it is modeled based on the similarity distribution. Having the SM and p, Modified Adaptive AP (MAAP) procedure is running. MAAP procedure means that we omit the adaptive p-scanning algorithm as in original Adaptive-AP (AAP) procedure. Experimental results on random non-partition and partition data sets show that (i) the proposed algorithm, MAAP-DDP, is slower than original AP for random non-partition dataset, (ii) for random 4-partition dataset and real datasets the proposed algorithm has succeeded to identify clusters according to the number of dataset’s true labels with the execution times that are comparable with those original AP. Beside that the MAAP-DDP algorithm demonstrates more feasible and effective than original AAP procedure.

Networking heterogeneous embedded systems is a challenge. Every distributed embedded systems requires that the network is designed specifically considering the heterogeneity that exits among different Microcontroller based systems that are used in developing a distributed embedded system. Communication architecture, which considers the addressing of the individual systems, arbitration, synchronisation, error detection and control etc., needs to be designed considering a specific application. The issue of configuring the slaves has to be addressed. It is also important that the messages, flow of the messages across the individual ES systems must be designed. Every distributed embedded system is different and needs to be dealt with separately. This paper presents an approach that addresses various issues related to networking distributed embedded systems through use of universal serial bus communication protocol (USB). The approach has been applied to design a distributed embedded that monitors and controls temperatures within a Nuclear reactor system.

This work presents a new control strategy of the power supply, in favor of equipment intended for the medical use. Several research investigations have been reserved for the service of this supply type, but there are still some disadvantages, which have challenged their high performance in the practical side, in particular the problems which concern the weight, the size and especially, the efficiency of these installations and this, on the cost side, energy balance, and lifetime of this equipment. A control technique is presented to overcome these constraints; its principle is based on the deduction of a hybrid control of which two controllers are simultaneously used for the same radiological dose, known by the fuzzy logic and the PID which have already been tested [1], [3]. This hybrid control has been greatly enhanced and developed, thanks to its robustness against the various intolerable dynamic states applied to the system and also to the unpredictable external disturbances.

Online signature verification is a prominent behavioral biometric trait. It offers many dynamic features along with static two dimensional signature image. In this paper, the Hybrid Wavelet Transform (HWT) was generated using Kronecker product of two orthogonal transform such as DCT, DHT, Haar, Hadamard and Kekre. HWT has the ability to analyze the signal at global as well as local level like wavelet transform. HWT-1 and -2 was applied on the first 128 samples of the pressure parameter and first 16 samples of the output were used as feature vector for signature verification. This feature vector is given to Left to Right HMM classifier to identify the genuine and forged signature. For HWT-1, DCT HAAR offers best FAR and FRR. . For HWT-2, KEKRE 128 offers best FAR and FRR. HWT-1 offers better performance than HWT- 2 in terms of FAR and FRR. As the number of states increase, the performance of the system improves. For HWT - 1, KEKRE 128 offers best performance at 275 symbols whereas for HWT - 2, best performance is at 475 symbols by KEKRE 128.

Online product reviews have become a source of greatly valuable information for consumers in making purchase decisions and producers to improve their product and marketing strategies. However, it becomes more and more difficult for people to understand and evaluate what the general opinion about a particular product in manual way since the number of reviews available increases. Hence, the automatic way is preferred. One of the most popular techniques is using machine learning approach such as Support Vector Machine (SVM). In this study, we explore the use of Word2Vec model as features in the SVM based sentiment analysis of product reviews in Indonesian language. The experiment result show that SVM can performs well on the sentiment classification task using any model used. However, the Word2vec model has the lowest accuracy (only 0.70), compared to other baseline method including Bag of Words model using Binary TF, Raw TF, and TF.IDF. This is because only small dataset used to train the Word2Vec model. Word2Vec need large examples to learn the word representation and place similar words into closer position.
