Abstract

In this paper, an evolutionary algorithm based optimization algorithm is proposed with new objective function to design a PID controller for the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) system. The new objective function is proposed to improve the transient response of the AVR control system and to obtain the optimal values of controller gain. In this paper, particle swarm optimization (PSO) and cuckoo search (CS) algorithms are proposed to tune the parameters of a PID controller for the control of AVR system. Simulation results are capable and illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Numerical and simulation results based on the proposed tuning approach on PID control of an AVR system for servo and regulatory control show the excellent performance of PSO and CS optimization algorithms.

Abstract

In this paper is modeled different types of control devices including various kinds of FACTS devices based on power system states. Also, the impact of each device on the amount of injection active or reactive powers as well as active and reactive power flow will be investigated. Based on the type of these devices which can be in parallel, in series or in series–shunt in power systems, proposed models is considered differently. Accordingly, case studies will be performed for three different types of control devices installed in series, in shunt and in series-shunt fashions. State estimation results based on Weighted Least Square not only confirm the proposed models’ effectiveness in accurately state estimating of the system and measurement values but also shows that the estimated values can be obtained from the states of the control devices.Keywords: State Estimation; FACTS Devises; Measurement Function; WLS EstimatorDOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v2i1.132

Abstract

The research aimed at providing an outcome summary of extraordinary events information for public health surveillance systems based on the extraction of online medical articles. The data set used is 7,346 pieces. Characteristics possessed by online medical articles include paragraphs that comprise more than one and the core location of the story or important sentences scattered at the beginning, middle and end of a paragraph. Therefore, this study conducted a summary by maintaining important phrases related to the information of extraordinary events scattered in every paragraph in the medical article online. The summary method used is maximal marginal relevance with an n-best value of 0.7. While the multi feature selection in question is the use of features to improve the performance of the summary system. The first feature selection is the use of title and statistic number of word and noun occurrence, and weighting tf-idf. In addition, other features are word level category in medical content patterns to identify important sentences of each paragraph in the online medical article. The important sentences defined in this study are classified into three categories: core sentence, explanatory sentence, and supporting sentence. The system test in this study was divided into two categories, such as extrinsic and intrinsic test. Extrinsic test is comparing the summary results of the decisions made by the experts with the output resulting from the system. While intrinsic test compared three n-Best weighting value method, feature selection combination, and combined feature selection combination with word level category in medical content. The extrinsic evaluation result was 72%. While intrinsic evaluation result of feature selection combination merger method with word category in medical content was 91,6% for precision, 92,6% for recall and f-measure was 92,2%.

Abstract

In this paper, the performance of Complementary Split Ring Resonator(CSRR) based sensor is explored by varying the geometrical parameters of asub millimeter crack. Behavior analysis of the CSRR based sensor isperformed by variation in the parameters of crack. Variation in resonantfrequency of sensor is observed in every case and is noteworthy for ourpurpose. This signifies the sensor’s ability to detect crack of differentgeometrical parameters on a metal surface.The effectiveness of the sensor isbeing contemplated through this approach which is appreciable. Anillustrious performance of the crack detection sensor has been discovered inthis analysis. Simulated results show the feasibility of detecting very smallcracks upto 25 ????m width, in the metallic surfaces.

Abstract

This paper reflects on the indemnity of women in our society. The proposed model ensures the embodiment of a mobile application. The algorithm, we developed for this model focuses the safety issues which is applicable to both inside as well as outside of the house for the women in Bangladesh. The solution of this problems can be done through some interrelated features such as i) SOS button pressing which ensures automatic calling, instant location tracking system through GPS of the phone and sending tracked location to all trusted numbers, automatically secrete video recording system ii) voice command detection which assures exact same features as SOS button pressing iii) phone shaking features serve user instant immunity by calling a trusted number. This research also assures experimented data analysis at Dhaka city based on respond time, the time it takes to arrive the SMS and Phone call and current location of the victim. Also do a short comparison among the most popular safety related mobile applications.

Abstract

In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) there are some security problems because of portability, element topology changes, and absence of any framework. In MANETs, it is of extraordinary significance to identify inconsistency and malignant conduct. With a specific end goal to recognize malignant assaults by means of interruption identification frameworks and dissect the information set, we have to choose some components. Thus, highlight determination assumes basic part in recognizing different assaults. In the writing, there are a few recommendations to choose such elements. For the most part, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) breaks down the information set and the chose highlights. In this paper, we have gathered a list of capabilities from some cutting edge works in the writing. Really, our reproduction demonstrates this list of capabilities identify inconsistency conduct more precise. Likewise, interestingly, we utilize PCA for investigating the information set. In contrast to PCA, our results show Sequential pattern mining (SPM) cannot be affected by outlier data within the network. The  normal and attack states are simulated and the results are analyzed using NS2 simulator.

Abstract

The growing interest towards wireless communication advancement with smart devices has provided the desired throughput of wireless communication mechanisms. But, attaining high-speed data packets amenities is the biggest issue in different multimedia applications. Recently, OFDM has come up with the useful features for wireless communication however it faces interference issues at carrier level (intercarrier interferences). To resolve these interference issues in OFDM, various existing mechanisms were utilized cyclic prefix, but it leads to redundancy in transmitted data. Also, the transmission of this redundant data can take some more power and bandwidth. All these limitations factors can be removed from a parallel cancellation mechanism. The integration of parallel cancellation and Convolution Viterbi encoding and decoding in MIMO-OFDMA will be an effective solution to have high data rate which also associations with the benefits of both the architectures of MIMO and OFDMA modulation approaches. This paper deals with this integrated mechanism for efficient resource allocation and power consumption. For performance analysis, MIMO-OFDMA system is analyzed with three different approaches likeMIMO-OFDM system without parallel cancellation (MIMO-OFDMA-WPC), MIMO-OFDMA System with parallel cancellation (MIMO-OFDMA-PC) and proposed IMO-OFDMA system with parallel cancellation and Convolution Viterbi encoding/decoding (pMIMO-OFDMA-PC &CVed) for 4x4 transmitter and receiver. Through performance analysis, it is found that the proposed system achieved better resource allocation (bandwidth) with high data rate by minimized BER rate and achieved least power consumption with least BER.

Abstract

Radar is a promising device for detection and recognition of invisible moving objects, Where, the micro-Doppler frequency shift caused by moving the object's parts have been represented as an attractive feature in the recognition process. In spite of that, no thorough analysis of human movement by bicycle and no discriminate from the running one through the wall in the literature. This paper presents a mathematical model of bicycle movement, then, the recognition of moving objects through the wall. Where three human movements; walking, running and on a bicycle have been recognized through two types of wall wood and cork. The theoretical analysis and measured was given a recognition 98.7% for human walking on his feet, 99% of the passenger on a bicycle, and 98% of the person running have been achieved without walls. While, a 95.4%, 96.2%, and 95% recognition have been gained from walking, moving by bicycle and running with wooden wall and 94%, 94.8%, and 93.3% respectively with cork wall. 2.4 GHz as a detector and SVM as classifier are used.

Abstract

A Partial Discharge (PD) is an unwanted phenomenon in electrical equipment. Therefore it is of great importance to identify different types of PD and assess their severity. This paper investigates the acoustic emissions associated with Internal Discharge (ID) from different types of sources in the time-domain. An experimental setup was arranged in the high voltage laboratory, a chamber with an electrode configuration attached to it was connected to a high voltage transformer for generating various types of PD. A laboratory experiment was done by making the models of these discharges. The test equipment including antennas as a means of detection and digital processing techniques for signal analysis were used. Wavelet signal processing was used to recover the internal discharge acoustic signal by eliminating the noises of many natures.

Abstract

One of the properties of wood is a mechanical property, includes: hardness, strength, cleavage resistance, etc. Among these properties there that can be measured or estimated by visual observation on cross-sectional areas of wood, which is based on inter-fiber density, fiber size, and lines that build the annual rings. In this paper, we proposed a new wood quality classification method based on edge detections. Edge detection is applied to the wood test images with the aim to improving the characteristics of wood fibers so as to make it easier to distinguish their quality. Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) used to obtain wood texture features, while the wood quality classification done by Naïve Bayes classifier. Found in our experimental results that the first-order edge detection is likely to provide a good accuracy rate and precision. The second order edge detection is highly dependent on the choice of parameters and tends to give worse classification results, as filtering the original wood image, thus blurring characteristics related to wood density. Selection of features obtained from co-occurrence matrix is also quite affected the classification results.
