Abstract

Scientific Inquiry skills are the ability to make discoveries based on facts or phenomena that exist through the observation process based on the stages of inquiry. Based on literature studies, research discussing the development of scientific instruments of inquiry skills tends to be published in international journals rather than national journals that are more likely to discuss the skills of the scientific process. This study aims to develop online-based instruments to measure students' scientific inquiry skills on temperature and heat materials that are valid, reliable and practical. The method applied is a research and development (R &D) method with a 4-D development model that has been modified to 3-D. The research trial was conducted on XI grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Jakenan. The results of the expert validity test by expert judgment. show the average score above 80% with a very valid category. A wide-scale trial of 227 students to obtain the validity of the construct, reliability and practicality of the instrument. The test of the validity of the construct with confirmatory factor analysis assisted by using Software Lisrel 8.80 get in 13 items out of 19 question items that developed in a valid category and able to represent each construct theory of scientific inquiry skills. The instruments developed have strong reliability which is indicated by a score of 0,78. The instrument is rated practical by students with a score of 3,23 from 4.00 and it is rated very practical by teachers with a score of 3.6 form 4.00. Based on the results of the test, the instrument developed is proper to be used for measuring student’s scientific inquiry skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the responses of class XII students at MA Nahdlatul Muslimin Kudus to the use of interactive PowerPoint learning media based on RPE (Realistic Physic Education) in the physics learning process. The research sample was 25 students. In this study, there were two problems that were investigated, namely related to student responses to the use of interactive media in the physics learning process and the level of student preference for the media that had been presented in the physics learning process in the classroom. The data obtained in this study were in the form of student response questionnaire data and physics teacher interviews. The data were analyzed using descriptive analytical methods to obtain answers to the problems in the study. The results of the average level of student satisfaction with the use of interactive powepoint media based on RPE (Realistic Physic Education) were 3.25 with the very good category. The result of the level of liking was obtained that 55% of students gave very interesting responses, as many as 32% of students gave interesting responses and as many as 13% of students gave casual responses to interactive media applied in the physics learning process. This shows that students like interactive learning media in the physics learning process, so that learning is more effective and less boring.

Abstract

Creativity is one of the important competencies that must be possessed by humans in the 21st century. Creativity can be viewed from four approaches, namely personal, driver, process and product. According to Peter Nilsson product creativity can be assessed in terms of quality and product form. Based on Nilsson's Taxonomy design creativity the product form can be distinguished in five aspects namely imitation, variety, combination, transformation and original creation. This research focuses on product creativity of variation aspects conducted on physics education students class of 2017. Students are required to redesign pascal legal props and then assessed using expertly validated instruments. Data analysis techniques use a descriptive quantitative approach. The results of the data analysis showed the level of creativity of student product design variations fall into the high category with a score of 5.9 in the range of scales 1-7.

Abstract

The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has caused the learning process to be carried out from home and students are required to be able to carry out the learning process independently. Based on these problems, teaching materials are needed that can help students learn independently, one of them is by using e-modules based STEM. This study aims to analyze differences in student learning outcomes in online learning assisted by e-modules based STEM and online learning assisted by modules from schools dan analyze differences in student learning independence in online learning assisted by e-modules based STEM in terms of cognitive learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Demak. This research is an experimental research with Nonequivalent control group design. The subjects in this study were students of class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. Data collection methods used were documentation, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis technique used includes normality test, homogeneity test, one way ANOVA test and t test. Based on the results of the study, it shows that there are differences in student learning outcomes in online learning assisted by e-modules based STEM and online learning assisted by modules from schools and there are differences in student learning independences in online learning assisted by e-modules based on STEM in terms of cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Distance learning or online learning in Indonesia has been implemented since April 2020 to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19. Online learning activities involve adequate network of connections and support learning devices. Thinking skills that must be prossesed by students in improving the quality of education graduates two of which are critical thinking skiils and creative thinking skills. The purpose of the study was determine the development of student critical and creative thinking skills in problem based physics learning. Thinking skills are developed to develop three indicators, namely analyzing, synthesizing, and researching. The creative thinking skills developed consist of three indicators, namely realizing, elaborating, and formulating. This research method is quasi-experimental using one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. This research was carried out for two meetings at SMA Negeri 2 Kendal using a problem based learning model. Based on the results of problem-basel physics learning, it shows that it is able to develop critical and creative thingking skills with moderate criteria.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of STEM–based physics learning video (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) towards the improvement of interest and student learning results. The method used was research and development (R&D. The research design used in implementation of STEM based physics learning video was Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with control class research subject was XI MIPA 1 and research subject of experimental class was XI MIPA 3. The implementation of STEM based physics learning video in learning can improve student interest in learning. This is indicated by results of t-test obtained by Sig. (2-tailed), namely 0.000 < 0.05 and N-gain test showing that there was an increase in student interest in learning by 0.51 in "medium" category in experimental class. In addition, there was a significant effect in improving student learning outcomes with t-test value obtained by Sig. (2-tailed), namely 0.000 < 0.05 and gain test showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes by 0.70 in "medium" category at experimental class.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a student discussion sheet based on quantum learning syntax and integrated with the quizizz application that can be used as an assistive medium in learning physics about rotational dynamics and rigid object equilibrium. The data taken from this study were in the form of feasibility validation test data and response questionnaires from high school physics teachers and physics education students. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) research which uses a 3D procedure (Define, Design, Develop) which is taken from the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) by Thiagarajan. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative descriptive method and the results of the content validation test were 84.5% in the feasible category, 93.75% presentation feasibility in the very feasible category, 96.87% media feasibility in the very feasible category. feasible category, language feasibility 83.30% in the feasible category, and the average in all categories 89.60% in the very feasible category, it can be concluded that LDS can be used in an outline to increase student understanding. The response data for high school physics teachers is 81.12%, including in the positive response category, and 88.11% student responses in the very positive category, this shows that teacher and student assessments developed by teachers and students are good products and can be used in study.

Abstract

This research aims to develop of practicum elasticity module assisted by tracker software. This research method used the research and development and the development model used is descriptive procedural. In this research, a Likert scale was used to determine the level of feasibility and student responses to modules that have been developed. These stages consist of Initial observations product planning, product development, initial product trials, and product revisions. The results showed that the elasticity practicum module assisted by tracker software has relatively small uncertainty, namely 3.32%, and accuracy of 96.68%. The results of the module feasibility test get an average score of 85% with very feasible criteria. The details for the content feasibility component were 85%, the language eligibility component was 82%, the presentation feasibility component was 92% and the graphic eligibility component was 83%. While the score obtained from the responses of student respondents to the module is 91.25% with very good criteria
