Abstract

Invertebrate learning should present real objects of observation in the classroom or laboratory. The average learning outcomes of class X students of Senior high school (SMA MIPA) in the 2021/2022 academic year for Invertebrates material is 68 and only 38% achieve KKM or minimum completeness criteria is 70. The value of attitudes and skills of students is also not optimal. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of documentary video learning media on invertebrate material at SMA Negeri 1 Pulokulon, Grobogan Regency. This research is research and development (R&D). Documentary videos are validated by experts and practitioners. Practicality is determined by the responses of students and teachers. The effectiveness of video documentaries was tested with the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data on attitudes and skills of students were observed by providing an assessment with a rating scale and then an independent t test was carried out. Classical completeness was analyzed by descriptive percentage. the independent t test was used to test whether there was a difference in the posttest mean between the experimental group and the control class. The results showed that the Invertebrates video material was prepared by considering format, content, language, and media engineering aspects, so that it spurred students in discovery learning activities, namely: identifying problems, observing, collecting data, compiling data, communicating, and concluding. The learning device in the form of documentary video learning media on invertebrate material is declared valid in the very good category. Documentary video learning media on Invertebrates material are stated to be practical. with very positive criteria. Documentary videos on Invertebrates are effective on cognitive learning outcomes, attitudes, and process skills.

Abstract

Interpersonal skills are ability to understand sociocultural phenomena which include aspects of communication, appreciation, tolerance, caring, empathy, and being able to work with others and be able to adapt well in the surrounding environment. This is a very important provision that must be owned by every student. Purpose of this research is to develop learning media for brave science that examines local wisdom content to study the topic of food ingredients. This research was conducted at An-Nur Ungaran Middle School and several traditional food industry places around the student's residences. The research method used is R&D with the ADDIE model. This media was validated and declared appropriate by media experts and material experts, then applied in science learning. The data obtained from the readability test, and the N-Gain test from students. The results of the study show that 1) Ethno-STEM learning module can be developed using the ADDIE model and is declared feasible to be applied in learning; 2) Ethno-STEM learning module can be developed to have good readability results, namely at a score of 61.4%; 3) Using of this Ethno-STEM module can improve interpersonal literacy and learning outcomes with N-gain values of 0.31 and 0.33, respectively.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the attitudes of science students toward the utilization of their indigenous language in comprehending visual representations. A mixed-methods approach was employed to delve into students' perspectives, preferences, and beliefs regarding the medium of instruction in science education, with a specific emphasis on the role played by indigenous languages in the interpretation of visual representations. The study utilized a sequential explanatory research design, initially collecting and analyzing quantitative data, followed by qualitative data to augment the comprehension of the quantitative findings. The findings indicated a marked preference among students for employing English as the medium of instruction in science education, driven by its perceived global significance and potential advantages in accessing scientific resources and opportunities. Furthermore, students who had not been exposed to science education in their indigenous language exhibited negative attitudes toward its utilization. They also repudiated the notion that acquiring science knowledge in their indigenous language would enhance their ability to interpret visual representations effectively. These findings bear implications for the indigenization of curricula and underscore the significance of taking into account students' language preferences and attitudes in the context of science education. Future research should delve further into language choices in various educational settings and refine research instruments to enhance measurement precision. Educators and policymakers would be well-advised to consider students' language preferences to create inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments. This approach provides support to students in enhancing their proficiency in the selected language of instruction.

Abstract

The problem of free sex among adolescents is increasing from year to year, this is because teenagers do not understand and care less about the health of the reproductive organs. The research aims to increase understanding and caring attitude towards the health of the reproductive organs. The development of the sex education model is carried out using the ADDIE development model through 5 stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Teaching materials use the Flipbuilder application, the use of the application is expected to make it easier for students to learn. This research also developed other learning tools in the form of lesson plans, syllabi, and other learning assessments. the results of device development obtained reproductive system teaching materials that are valid and suitable for use. The results of the questionnaire from material experts reached 89% (very high), while the validation of teaching materials experts reached 90.48% (very high). At the implementation stage, the effectiveness of the sex education model with teaching materials using the flip-builder application was obtained based on an understanding of 87 (very good). The attitude of students towards caring for the health of the reproductive organs is 65% (good). Students' responses during the biology learning process in class using the sex education model and flip-builder application teaching materials said the students were good to be implemented in class

Abstract

The local potential of Grobogan Regency is very diverse, which has the potential as a learning resource that can be integrated into learning biology on ecosystem material to improve students' critical thinking skills needed in the 21st century. Critical thinking enables students to apply decision-making abilities and solve problems in everyday life. day. This study aims to produce a module based on local potential in the Grobogan Regency that is feasible based on the validity, readability, and practicality of the module, and effectiveness to improve critical thinking skills. To develop critical thinking skills these students must obtain teaching materials that facilitate these skills. This research is a research and development (R&D) and one-group pretest-posttest research design. The research instruments were expert validation questionnaires by expert validators and teachers, and module readability and practicality questionnaires by teachers and students, effectiveness was measured from the results of the pretest and posttest conducted on students before and after using the module. Data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative. Based on the results of the validation test for ecosystem modules based on local potential, a score percentage of 85.58% was obtained, including the very valid category. The results of readability and practicality using local potential-based ecosystem modules obtained a score of 80.75% including the good category and 80.41% including the practical category. The N-gain results show an average of 0.62 in the medium category. Based on the results of the development of ecosystem modules based on local potential, Grobogan Regency was declared feasible based on validity, readability and practicality, and effectiveness as teaching materials.

Abstract

Observation results obtained by the availability of learning resources used are still less diverse and do not support the learning objectives achieved. The learning resources used are still limited to book packages, Student Worksheets (LKS) and Power Points (PPt). The biodiversity in Jepara Bondo Beach is very high which has not been used as a source of learning biology at SMA Islam Nusantara and SMA PGRI Jepara. The environment around the school has not been used as a learning resource because it has not represented biological wealth. Therefore, Jepara Bondo Beach is a representative place to be used as a source of learning that is close to schools. This study aims to develop an e-booklet on the diversity of Mollusca at Bondo Beach, Jepara in a factual, systematically arranged according to the material, valid, effective in increasing learning outcomes in the cognitive and psychomotor domains in practicing oral communication skills in the sub-material classification of living things. This research uses the development method (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research data were analyzed for its characteristics, validity and effectiveness. The results of the study can be concluded that the e-booklet characteristics of Mollusca paintings on Bondo Beach Jepara are factual which are arranged systematically so that they can reach TP 10.1 to 10.3, the e-booklet is very valid and feasible to use based on expert judgment, and is effective in increasing cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes in practicing oral communication skills.
