Abstract

Handout materials are materials that are Concise and complete. One the innovations of the handout was a handout discovery model of curriculum corresponding to 2013. This research aims to Identify a) species richness of Spermatophyta plants in Paseban parks Bangkalan to develop discovery model on the material handout, b) to test the validity of the handout models of plant discovery Plantae Spermatophyta on learning, c) to test the effectiveness of the handout model of discovery of plant Spermatophyta, d) to test the response of students and teachers against the handout models of plant Spermatophyta discovery. Method development using the method of ADDIE. Results of the study include a) 28 species that comprise the family Cannaceae, Liliaceae, Acanthaceae, Rubiaceae, Agaveaceae, Rubiaceae, Apocynaceae, Palma, Fabeacae, Nygtaginaceae, euphorbiaceae, Cydaceaae, Gnetaceae, Pinaceae and. b) The validity of expert material and expert media an average of 94.92% with very valid criteria c) Effectiveness handouts based on test results of t-test results Showed significant 0:04 Becauseρ value < α 0:05. The experiment has been completed on the class 100%. The percentage of the value of the excellent category of affective on classroom control 85.51% and 90.23% in class experiments. The percentage of psychomotor categories very well at 79.08% control classes and experiments 86.19%, Thus it can be stated that giving a handout models Effectively discovery. d) Response use the handout model of discovery of 95.66% included in the category of very decent.
The Adiwiyata School's Role in the Development of Character Caring for the Environment (A Case Study at the Junior High School 6 Tuban)

Abstract

The nation moral condition was apprehensive especially the awareness to the environment aroused Indonesian government to instill caring culture and loving environment by applying Adiwiyata Program. The purpose of this research was to know: 1) The implementation Adiwiyata Program in Junior high school 6 Tuban post awarded as Adiwiyata Independent school/Sekolah Adiwiyata Mandiri, 2) The strategy development of environmental caring characteristic, 3) The obstacles that have been found 4) The effort to resolve the obstacles. This research used qualitative approach of case study types. The research procedure divided into four steps; preparing, implementing, analyzing and writing the research report. The result shown that Junior high school 6 Tuban still strive to preserve Adiwiyata post awarded program as Sekolah Adiwiyata Mandiri. Strategy development of environmentally caring character in Junior high school 6 Tuban was carried out based on four aspects of Adiwiyata Program implementation, but each aspect has not been implemented optimally. These aspects could be optimized with the consistency and commitment of the school community. This consistency was enhanced by positioning students as the center in the implementation of Adiwiyata Program and added role model, reward and punishment as an alternative strategy to increase motivation in developing students’ caring character.
Analysis on Utilization of Biology Laboratory and School Environment in Biology Learning for Tenth Grade Students of Senior High School in Jepara Regency

Abstract

The application of 2013 curriculum had teacher to do scientific oriented learning. In fact, scientific oriented learning has not been applied fully in real life. Some obstacle factors are the lack of facility and teacher preparation. This research aims for: (1) analyzing facilities of biology laboratory and school environment, (2) analyzing the utilization of biology laboratory, (3) analyzing the utilization of school environment as learning source of biology subject for first semester of tenth grade students of senior high school. This is a descriptive qualitative research done in seven senior high schools in Jepara Regency. The subjects of this research are tenth grade biology teachers, tenth grade science major students, and vice headmaster (facility division). Data tabulation uses observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Data triangulation uses source and method triangulation. Data analysis uses descriptive. Analysis result provides: 1) the laboratory facility in seven senior high schools in Jepara Regency can be included in “good: category even though it does not fill all the standardization of Permendiknas Number 24, 2007; facility of school environment is in below good category, 2) the utilization of laboratory in biology learning for tenth grade in first semester is in good enough category, 3) the utilization of school environment in biology learning for tenth grade in first semester is in good category. Some factors that influence categories are management of facility, lesson plan made by teachers, teacher understanding about biology material in scientific approach, teachers and students customary to scientific approach, and time allocation.
The Development of Chemireligiousa Teaching Material Integrated with Character Education in Chemistry Learning of Hydrocarbon Material in SMK

Abstract

Character education is very important in education. The integration of teaching materials with character education is one way that can be done. This study aims to obtain chemireligiousa teaching materials integrated character education on SMK hydrocarbon material that is valid, effective and students' response to teaching materials. The development model was a 4-D development model by Thiagarajan, Semmel & Semmel consisting of four stages: (1) Define (definition), (2) Design (Design), (3) Develop and (4) Disseminate (Spreading). The results of the preliminary study indicate that has not been found chemireligiousa teaching materials integrated education of hydrocarbon material character for students of SMK and chemireligiousa teaching materials integrated character education was indispensable in learning in vocational schools. Teaching material development results obtained a validity score of 0,94, so the criterion of teaching material was valid. The effectiveness of teaching materials was reviewed from the students' clarity completeness of 89% and the N-Gain test of 0.76 (height). Students respond very well to the use of integrated chemireligious materials teaching character education, with an overall average of 3.42. Based on the acquisition of data research results can be stated that the developed teaching materials valid, effective and get a good response from students’s.
Analysis of Misconception on Solubility and Solubility Product Constant (Ksp) Using Three-Tier Multiple Choice Test

Abstract

The research aims to: analyze student's misconception on solubility and solubility product constant (Ksp) using the instrument of three-tier multiple choice test, and know the percentage of student's misconception. The research method used a mixed method with sequential explanatory strategy. Data collection technique was collected by diagnostic test using 20 questions of three-tier multiple choice that was completed by reasons and level of confidence, then the result of student's answer was analyzed. The result of the research shows that the diagnostic instrument test of three-tier multiple choice has fulfilled valid and reliable criteria. The implementation diagnostic instrument of three-tier multiple choice shows misconception percentage of solubility material was 5,272%, solubility product constant (Ksp) was 7,339%, the effect of same ions was 2,025%, the effect of pH on solubility was 4,597%, and sub-material of Ksp and the reaction process of sedimentation was 9,870%.

Abstract

Skills in the learning process are needed by students to be able to shape and develop the character possessed. This study aims to identify basic science process skills of students assisted practical worksheet based on multiple representations as media. This research was conducted by observation method that was done at the time of practicum activity by using an observation sheet and test method with response test. Students did practicum with practical worksheet media equipped with basic science process skills indicator and multiple representation level. Then the students worked the question with the basic science process skill indicators in it. Based on the analysis of the observation result, the basic science process skills profile of students in SMAN 11 Semarang was included in the high criteria with a range of 68 to 84. The criteria for each basic science process skills indicator were also analyzed from practicum 1 and practicum 2 which is high for indicators to observation, classifying, measuring, inferencing, predicting and knowing the relation of numbers and very high for indicators communicating and knowing relation between space and time. It can be concluded that students have demonstrated proficiency profile of basic science process. This research can be used as a reference for teachers and other researchers to improve student’s basic science process skills on different subjects.

Abstract

Teacher as a facilitator is expected to explore the potential of students to be able to master the material with minimal mastery. This research aims to understand the concept of students' increased understanding of the material stoichiometry with guided inquiry learning model application. Experimental research conducted in SMAN 6 Semarang. The research sample is determined by purposive sampling class X MIPA 7 (an experimental class with 36 students) and Class X MIPA 8 (a control class with 36 students). Theused instrument is a cognitive achievement test. Analysis of students' cognitive learning outcomes data using the N-gain average test obtained 80.94%, with the average of an experimental group of students by 83.00% and theaverage of control group students by 76.94%. Achievement of experimental class minimum completeness criteria 91.67% and a standard deviation of 6.21 is higher than the minimum completeness criteria for achievement grade control by 69.44% and a standard deviation of 7.38. The t-test analysis obtained t value of 57.61 is greater than t table at a significance level of 0.05 by 2.03. The results of the analysis stated that there is significant influence guided inquiry learning model application of the cognitive achievement of students on the concept of stoichiometry.

Abstract

The result of questionnaire given to 256 students of class VII of SMP Negeri 37 Semarang obtained information that motivation, scientific attitude, and cognitive learning result is still low. One of the teaching models can be used to solve these problems is the CTL and CL GI type models, because it links knowledge to real-world situations and emphasizes maximum student engagement. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of classification of living creatures with CTL and CL type GI model of motivation, scientific attitude, response and student cognitive learning outcomes. The research design is Pretes-Posttest Control Group Design. Motivation, student response is analyzed by likert scale. Mastery Test is used to analyze the completeness of cognitive learning outcomes. One-way anova test is used to test three average differences. The results showed that motivation and scientific attitude are in good category. The calculation of experimental class 1 and experiment 2 respectively which stated by KKM is 84,38% and 81,25%. F count> F table (16.086> 3.094), then Ho is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is a difference between the average postes value of experiment class 1, experiment class 2, and control. Learning CTL and CL type GI received a very positive and positive response.

Abstract

The management of natural resources (medicinal plants) is a material taught in the UIN Walisongo biology education department. Based on preliminary observations students experience saturation of learning in the classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to attempt to overcome this by using JAS approaching learning module. This study aims to: (1) identify the types of medicinal plants grown in Taman Jamu Nyonya Meneer (TJNM) and TOGA Park Patemon Tengaran Village; (2) developing JAS medicinal plant modules; (3) test the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the module. Characteristics of the module consists of concept maps, indicators, materials, tasks, quizzes, experiments and essay tests. This research is a research and development (R & D) which is designed consists of stages: (1) analysis of potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design of learning module; (4) module characteristics; (5) validation of product design; (6) revision of phase I module; (7) small scale module test; (8) revision of module stage 2; (9) final module revision. A limited-scale trial was conducted at UIN Walisongo. Data collection was done by observation method, interview, questionnaire, documentation and test. Trials were conducted to test the practicality and effectiveness of the module on students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes. The result of identification of medicinal plants in TJNM and TOGA Park Patemon Village was found by the number of medicinal plants in TJNM that is 49 species and in Patemon Tengaran Village that is 23 species. Validation results are valid by media experts and valid by material experts. The cognitive learning result of 84.67% of students reach completeness. Students and lecturers responded very well to the developed learning modules.
Identification of Misconceptions on Buffer Material Using Three-Tier Test in the Learning of Multiple Representation

Abstract

This research was a mixed method with the design of sequential explanatory strategy. This research aims to identify student misconception on buffer solution material and obtain student response to multiple representation-chemoentrepreneurship (entrepreneurship in the chemistry field) teaching materials. Research subjects were 114 students from grade XI MIPA 3, XI MIPA 4, and XI MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 12 Semarang academic year 2017/2018. Three-tier multiple choice diagnostic test obtained from the research data amounted to 20 items, questionnaire to know the student's response to teaching materials, and interview to confirm student's answer. The result of the validation of teaching materials by three validators shows that the teaching materials of multiple representation-chemoentrepreneurship are very suitable to be used in chemistry learning with an average score of 190.33 from 212. The average score of the questionnaire is 28,026 with proper category and reliability of 0.906. The misconception profile obtained is the definition and the properties of the buffer solution 3.421%; the components of buffer solution 2.149%; working principle 2.632%; pH of buffer solution 3.596%; and the role of buffer solution 0.965% with a total misconception 12.763%.
