Abstract

The implementation of the curriculum of 2013 entrusts of innovative and creative learning with the integration of technology in the learning process. Teachers should be creative in finding and gathering learning resources, as well as making teaching materials needed in learning that can help students in learning to achieve goals in the curriculum. So it is necessary to develop learning media based on My Android Biology App in schools in learning biology. Especially in the food digestive system material can be motivate the student and the result of learning. The aim of this study is (1) to analyze the validity of the My Biology App according to media experts and material experts, (2) to analyze the feasibility of the my biology app according to teacher and student responses, (3) to analyze student learning motivation and (4) to analyze the result of learning at student. The method of research is Research and Development (R & D). Pre-Posttest Control Group is the research design. The results of the validation from media experts and material experts indicate that the learning media My Biology App is very valid. It appears in teacher responses with an average of 97.62 and student responses with an average of 108 with a percentage of 90% suitable for use in learning activities. The effectiveness is determined from the motivation data and student learning outcomes. 63% of students are highly motivated and 37% are motivated. The results of the posttest in the experimental class with an average of 86.96 greater than the posttest in the control class with an average of 83.25. In addition, the n-gain in the experimental class 0.74 is greater than the control class with an n-gain of 0.70. It can be concluded based on the results of research that the learning media My Biology App can increase motivation and student learning outcomes in the food digestive system material.

Abstract

Lack of awareness and limited information about the dangers of e-cigarettes among teenagers, especially high school students, make them assume that e-cigarettes are a safe alternative to reduce smoking habit. This can be circumvented through the development of teaching materials that are tailored to the needs of students. This research aims to develop teaching materials about the negative effects of e-cigarettes as a source of learning for high school students and analyze their validity, readability, and feasibility. This development research uses 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) design. The subjects of this research include material and media experts, students of class XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 4 SMAN 12 Semarang and teachers who are members of senior high school biology teachers forum in Rembang Regency. The results showed the validation scores of material and media experts were 83.00% and 97.70%, respectively, with very valid criteria. Analysis of the readability of teaching materials from the results of student responses and the cloze test, respectively obtained an average score of 86.20% and 84% with very good and independent criteria. Analysis of the feasibility of teaching materials from the results of teacher responses at the senior high school biology teachers forum in Rembang, obtained an average score of 83.70% with very feasible criteria. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that teaching materials about the negative effects of e-cigarettes are valid, it has good readability, and feasible to use as a source of learning for high school students. The teaching material is expected to be able to add insight and knowledge about the negative effects of e-cigarette exposure and to contribute better in improving the quality of learning resources.

Abstract

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is an important competency that must be had by prospective teachers to realize 21st-century learning. This research was aimed to analyze the relationship and the effect of course mastery and Technology Integration Self Efficacy (TISE) on TPACK of the prospective science teachers. This research was correlation research. By using regression analysis, the relationship between course mastery and TISE was analyzed on the TPACK of the science teacher candidates. Based on the analysis, it was known that the average of course mastery, TISE, and TPACK of prospective science teachers is good enough. Meanwhile, multiple regression tests were related to the relationship between course mastery and Technology Integration Self Efficacy (TISE) on TPACK of science teacher candidates simultaneously showed a strong correlation with the correlation coefficient (R) of 0.736 and R square of 0.542. It means there is an effect of course mastery and TISE on the TPACK of the prospective science teacher by 54.20%.

Abstract

One of its competency that students must have to face the 4.0 era is the critical thinking skills. These skills can be trained using appropriate learning media, one of which is by using digital books based on problem-based learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of using problem-based books, problem-based learning materials, and analysis systems on students' critical thinking skills. The research sample was taken using purposive sampling method with a total of 108 students. Based on the results of the study, the average student learning outcomes obtained a score of 67. The results of the N-gain analysis with the medium category showed that digital-based learning problem-based books were effective for improving students' critical thinking skills. The results of the analysis with the Paired Sample t-test showed that the probability value (sig) 0.000 <0.05 means that there are differences in critical thinking skills between before and after using problem-based learning-based digital books. Thus it can be concluded that the use of digital books based on learning materials based on problems with the motion system is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Scientific literacy is an ability that students must have in facing the challenges of the 21st century and is also one of the objectives of implementing the 2013 Curriculum. The object of this research is the basic competencies of Plantae material which is taught using project based learning (PjBL) based on local wisdom. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of project-based learning (PjBL) based on local wisdom to train students' scientific literacy skills. This research was conducted in class X MA NU Miftahul Falah Dawe Kudus, the sample of this study was taken by using saturated sampling technique. This research design using One Group Pretest Posstest Design. The data was collected using test with indicators of scientific literacy competence. The test results were analyzed using the N-gain test and paired sample t-test to prove the effectiveness of the learning. The results showed that the level of learning effectiveness was moderate with the average of N-Gain 0.66. The results of the paired sample t-test obtained a value of sig. 0.0000 <α = 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest mean values. Based on the research results it can be denied that the project-based learning based on local wisdom of the Plantae material is effective to train students' scientific literacy competencies
