Abstract

The era of Colonization in Indonesia left many architecture and interior influence. For many years, colonizers especially Dutch and English have developed many architectural building which included their interior elements. Bandung, is one of the cities which enjoyed massive influence of Dutch colonialism design. However the change of people way of living and conducting business, change the city area planning. Most of residential areas now have becoming commercial/business area. Houses area are being leased or sold to be transformed into offices, cafes, restaurant or being entirely demolished into new buildings. There are still residential buildings from this era which are being kept as it is.Either by the owner and endorsed by the appeals of communities intended to preserve them as historical buildings. However there are not yet efforts to preserve the interior elements, especially the furnitures. Hence there are little knowledge about the development of furnitur design as a result of living culture of this period. The ones left are difficult to study as furnituer has shorter life span than building so it could be already altered, moved or sold. And in the meantime new furnitures could be acquired.Hence, it is the intention of this research to study what is left of furnitur from colonialization era in this paticular residential house. To try to documents and analyze what style and influence the commonly called “Dutch Furniture” by Indonesian antique dealers and also by the people in general.. This research will try to find out how and why this particular style still exist through the colonialism era in Indonesia to be compared to the development of styles in the European world.

Abstract

Indonesia has become the second larget plastic waste contributor in the world after China. Saddens by this fact, this research is conducted to recycle plastic bag waste. Fusion technique is a technique to fuse two or more plastic plies by heating them. It is easily done because the equipment need is very easy to find. With fusion technique the plastic waste can be turned into durable and waterproof material. In this research, a card wallet is made out of the recycle material. Carry goods is a commodity that is continuously needed by market. The research used material driven design process, in which tries to explore the recycle material both in technical and experiential qualities. Aside from material exploration, this research also studiesabout user perception regarding this material, this study is needed to remove the waste stigma. From the study founded thatemotional and performative are affecting each other. The three traits that user about plastic fusing material are pattern, contras color and transparency. The results are design recommendation on how to design using this new material and functional products like wallet designed with different style that express the material uniqueness.

Abstract

The advancement of development, technology and urban culture, globally has produced various positive and negative impacts on environmental conditions and human life. One of the negative impacts is the declining public health factor. At present, the main cause of death in urban communities is cardiovascular disease caused by people's lifestyles that are minimal to carry out physical activity or sedentary lifestyle. Based on these phenomena there are various design principles for the physical environment, one of which is the principe of Active Design. The Active Design can be understood as a set of principles in designing the physical setting of the environment so that it can stimulate its users to carry out physical activity without them knowing it. The Active Design Principle is seen as having a significant impact on increasing public health factors when applied to the urban public spaces. In line with these thoughts, in the city of Bandung there has been a phenomenon of improvement in the city's public space, one of which is the revitalization of Saparua Park. There is an interesting thing about the revitalization of the Saparua Park environment, namely the incorporation of two dominant concepts in one unit of the environment, thematic garden concepts for recreational needs and the concept of sports complexes for the needs of public sports facilities. This research is a qualitative-descriptive study which contains the formulation of Active Design indicators in the urban public space based on literatures. Then evaluate the physical settings of Saparua Park environment after revitalization based on Active Design indicators that have been formulated. Produced an understanding of the extent to which the principles of Active Design materialize in the physical environment of Saparua Park, the potential for future development and any manifestation that can be used as an example for designing urban public spaces elsewhere. Abstract

Humans are part of this universe thousands of years ago has developed a sense to detect the presence of energi from the earth itself or the so-called flow field geopatis. This energi can be separated into positive and negative energy. Negative energy generated by the flow field can lead to human become ill if man is above the flow for a long times. To avoid that, humans above the soil surface must move up to other place for become healthy. People build homes for they shelter, grow and develop. Nearly a third of human life is spent in the home and about 6 to 8 hours a day humans do rest to get the energy back to move well and healthy physically and mentality. This study tries to map the flow of negative terrain geopatis that exist in a land occupancy by using a special tool in order to avoid the flow pattern field geopatis. So that a planner residential design can plan zoning and blocking the right so that people who live in it can avoid the flow negatif. Also proff that maping the flow of negatif terrain geopatis can support space planning especialy for residential plan.

Abstract

The design of inner space or better known as interior design is the study of design in a building and used to solve human problems. One of scientific studies based on design science, this scientific field aims to beable to create a built environment (inner space) along with its supporting elements, both physical and non-physical. So that the quality of human life in it becomes better. The interior design process aims to solve complex problems related to human response to space. To be able to solve the problem in its entirety, it requires an appropriate design concept. The success of the design concept depends on the approach taken in the preparation process.Interior spatial concepts can be built by understanding several things, including: components of design understanding, analytical design schemes, design mindset mapping, design approach methods, and ending with the design concept used in interior planning & design processes. By understanding these things, a scope of interior design in solving design problems is expected to be resolved clearly and systematically, so that the process of drafting the proper interior design & planning concepts can be done more easily. The right concept will eventually be able to tie the design results into a fully integrated design
