Abstract

The need for electrical energy continues to increase along with population growth. it is very important to encourage the use of new and renewable energy to support electricity needs. One of them is the use of wind energy. Wind can be used to drive a turbine coupled to a generator. Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is a type of generator that is often used in the utilization of wind energy. The main component of PMSG consists of three components, namely the stator, rotor and permanent magnet. The interaction between the components causes a ripple or often referred to as the cogging phenomenon. Cogging is what makes PMSG not work perfectly. This study discusses the effect of teeth width on decreasing the cogging torque value in PMSG by making two designs. The design variations used are teeth width 7 mm and 4 mm, Carpenter type of iron core: Silicon steel, Permanent magnet synchronous generator 18 slot 16 pole (PMSG 18s16p). The result of decreasing the value of cogging torque obtained is 0.012676 Nm with 4 mm teeth width. For numerical analysis using the finite element method (FEM).

Abstract

The study carried out on April 2021 used an explorative correlational approach and aimed to identify the shallow groundwater quality in Karawang coastal area and to analyze the effect of population number on the groundwater salinity. Groundwater sampling was managed using systematic random grid sampling method by dividing the Karawang coastal area into 30 grids of a uniform size of 2 km × 7 km. The analysis of groundwater samples taken from public borewells obtained a result that the quality of groundwater in Karawang coastal area at 4 to 15-meter depth has an average salinity of 1,5 ppt and total dissolved solid (TDS) of 1491,6 mg/l. The population number data were collected by direct observation to the local community at the study sites aided by administrative data collected from the village authorities. Interpretation analysis of correlation and regression using SPSS showed a significantly positive interaction between population number and groundwater salinity (r = 0,717; p < 0,001). This positive relationship gives the tendency that the groundwater salinity will increase as the population number grows.

Abstract

Work-related activities and exposures make the body susceptible to exhaustion. Fatigue is the body's response to work-related activities and exposures. Psychosocial dangers, essentially job stress with symptoms such as frequent yawning, tiredness, thirst, and difficulties concentrating, are the general response to the high intensity of work. Typically, a job is scheduled in shifts, seasonal employment, weekend work, and overtime, which causes workers to experience exhaustion and a poor quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the ratio of work stress and work fatigue using the division of work shifts at Alfamart Tangsi Cikarang. This Alfamart applies 2 work shifts, namely morning and afternoon. This research was conducted by conducting interviews and questionnaires to 4 employees. The work pressure questionnaire uses the OSI-RTM method while the work fatigue uses the 30 Items of Rating Scale. One Way ANOVA was used to test the questionnaire data. The results of the work stress test show a significance level of 0.375 (p>0.05), which means that there is no statistically significant difference in the average work stress between the morning and afternoon shifts. The criterion for the significance of work fatigue is 0.295 (p>0.05), indicating that there is no statistically significant difference in the average level of work fatigue between the morning and afternoon shifts. There is no visible difference in the distribution of shifts at the Tangsi Alfamart location, indicating that the staff does not experience difficulties in dividing the morning and afternoon shifts.

Abstract

Dental material is a composite composed of a hydrophilic matrix and filler as a reinforcement. Liquid enters the mouth and passes through the dental material by diffusion and damage the material, thereby interfering with the teeth's ability to chew food. The purpose of this study is to study the fluid absorption behavior of three types of dental composites and to determine the surface structure and its composition. The commercial filling composites used were Solare®X-A3, FiltekTMZ350XT Flow-A3 and Grandio®Flow-A3. The immersion medium was artificial saliva pH 7 and Coca-Cola® pH 3.45. Specimens were molded into an acrylic and hardened using light curing for 1 minute. The fluid absorption behavior was carried out by immersing the specimen in artificial saliva and Coca-Cola® media. Specimen weight was recorded periodically every 1-4 days for 38 days. Observation of the surface structure used SEM and chemical composition analysis with EDS for Filtek. The results showed that the fluid absorption behavior of all dental composites from 4 to 38 day increased, where the composites immersed in Coca-Cola® gained greater weight than artificial saliva. For the surface structure of the Filtek, the condition before immersion shows the wide contact surface between the filler and the matrix, and the condition after immersion shows the presence of empty space and swelling of the matrix. The results of the chemical composition analysis, before immersion showed that Filtek was composed of elements C, O, Si, Zr and Yb, where after immersion showed the element Yb had dissolved with Coca-Cola® liquid.

Abstract

Startups play an important role in the disruptive transformation of several industrial sectors towards a circular economy of sustainability.  Cleantech Startup (CS) is one of the major business players in green innovation and technology, which is based on generating or utilizing clean energy.  To achieve sustainable green innovation success, collaboration between actors in green innovation systems such as universities, government institutions and industry (including CS) must be optimal.  Coupled with the CS business model, it is necessary to implement a green business model canvas (EcoCanvas).  This literature study will review how the Triple-Helix (TH) collaboration towards innovation and adoption of green technology is carried out by CS. In addition, the EcoCanvas will be formulated from examples of CS cases in Indonesia.  This study uses a desk review of 51 major articles from reputable journals.  It can be seen that the TH collaboration focuses on: government regulations, market focus, supplier participation, coordination between functions, and technology development.  In addition, licensing alliances and technology development will affect the pattern of financial investment and patent activity. The EcoCanvas model on CS also shows that environmental issues such as waste and abundant resources in Indonesia are the main focus in the sustainable business model adopted by CS.  The findings in this study need to be studied more deeply by using empirical evidence from the field and other supporting historical data.

Abstract

Wind power plant is a power plant that uses renewable energy, namely wind energy. This study tested micro-scale wind power plants using a horizontal type wind turbine with a diameter of one meter with variations in the number of blades, namely 16 blades, 14 blades, 12 blades and 10 blades at wind speeds of 4.7 m/s, 4.1 m/s. , 3.6 m/s and 3 m/s. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the number of horizontal wind turbine blades on the turbine rotation with the load and electrical power generated. This research uses an experimental method and is divided into 3 stages, the first stage is the design of research tools and components, the second stage is making research tools and components, the third stage is testing. Based on the results of testing using a load, a wind turbine with 16 blades produces the highest turbine rotation, which is 47 rpm at a wind speed of 4.7 m/s and produces the highest electrical power, which is 0.12 W at a wind speed of 4.7 m/s.

Abstract

The difficulties of finding a parking spot in any business area are well-known to drivers. Parking tends to put them behind schedule owing to inefficient parking systems, making it much longer due to lost tickets, slow payment procedures, and insufficient parking information. To help lessen the delays caused by these problems, the researchers intend to integrate a technology-based solution in the three important parking procedures — the car entry and exit, the payment mechanism, and the location of parking slots — to significantly reduce the time spent handling these processes, with a particular emphasis on the management system’s ability to improve the parking experience. This study, titled Implementation of RFID-based Automated Parking Management System: A Project Feasibility, seeks to determine the feasibility of an RFID-based parking management system at Victory Mall and Market in Tanauan City, Batangas as its initial client. The project consists of two parts: (1) the system itself as the product and (2) the service that it will provide, featured by its cashless, contactless, and paperless transactions, making the overall service effective and efficient. The researchers conclude that the project is attainable, anticipating an initial service capacity of 929,888.07 parking hours with a 5% annual increase that will result in an average gross profit ratio of 68% per year. It is expected to have a three-year payback period for the total investments of its shareholders amounting to PHP 15,000,000.00. The assumed start of operation where the company caters to its first client is in June 2023.
