Abstract

The research of acute toxicity of the etanolic extract of  the leave of  Jambu Bol (Eugenia malaccencis L.) has been done. Parameter measure were LD50 and the delay toxic effect during 14 day observation covering body weight, water intake, urine output, and relative weight of the liver, heart, and kidney. The toxicity by oral administration of the leave of Jambu Bol (Eugenia malaccencis L.) with dose 16 g/kg BB. that showed the etanolic extract of leave Jambu Bol (Eugenia malaccencis L.) is practical not toxic category (LD50 > 15 g/kg BB). The delay toxic effect was seen by significant changes in body weight and water intake, and was not see significant changes in urine output and the relative weight.

Abstract

Research about exploiting of straw as component of ethanol as fermentation based on difference able of inoculums consentration and fermentation time has been studied. Straw utilized in this research is result of agriculture raffle from rice plant type IR 46, which taken away from rice field the district of Lubuk Minturun, Padang. The first, stage hydrolysis was done to straw using H2SO4 P 1% with various time 30, 60, 120, 180 and 240 minute and determined glucose produced for each sample. The fermentation of ethanol by using Saccharomyces cereviceae bacterium were conducted at temperature 30ºC with speed 100 rpm. Sampling was taking every 6 hours (6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66). The inoculum’s grade level is variation by 1, 2, 3% v/v. Results showed that the optimum hydrolysis time wich mark by highest glucose rate is minute 240 with grade level 0.7765 %. The highest ethanol grade of which can be yielded with inoculum 1% was 0.02066 % v/v at yeast inoculum 2 % was of 0.02549 % v/v and yeast inoculum 3 % was of  0. 07804 % v/v.

Abstract

The studies about formulating toothpaste of crude bromelain from steams of pineapple (Ananas comusus L. Merr Var Queen) as cleaner of teeth have been done. Concentration of crude bromelain were used 3 %, 5 %, and 7 % respectly. The parameter evaluated conclude organoleptic observation, homogenity, pH, particle size distribution, spread test, foam test, preference test with panelist, and affectivity test with O.H.I.S (Oral Hygiene Index Simplified) Methods. The result showed that toothpaste Fl [3 %] has given best result based on physic evaluated and preferences test of panelist. The affectivity test as cleaner of teeth with O.H.I.S (Oral Hygiene Index Simplified) methods has given by toothpaste F3 [7 %].

Abstract

Research about usage of antibiotic at Barn Eye of RSUP DR. M. Djamil Padang to year 2005 up to 2007.  Result of obtained research pursuant to data of retrospective at cataract patient, pterigium, tumor and conjunctivitis show eye patient which is higher infection of year 2005 equal to 19.49 % year 2006 equal to 18.57 % year 2007 equal to 25.67 %. So that usage of high antibiotic also in the year 2005 equal to 47.37 %. year 2006 equal to 79.79 %. year 2007 equal to 45.26 %. Usage of antibiotic pursuant to precisely indication at disease of cataract, pterigium, tumor and conjunctivitis at precise eye patient 100 % in the year 2005 up to 2007. Precisely dose usage of antibiotic at cataract patient of pterigium, tumor and konjungtivitis at precise eye 100 % in the year 2005 up to 2007. Usage of correct antibiotic of patient, precise of drug, precise is way of wearing, at type medicines amoxicillin, chloramphenicol, and precise siprofloxacin 100 % in the year 2005 up to 2007. From result of interview obtained at patient which less than five day taken care of to get continuation recipe to go home.

Abstract

Effect of antiinflamantory extract ginger rhizome ethanol has been observed on white male mice. Extract is given buccally with dose 30, 100, 300 mg/kg BB, while preparation is becoming with dose 360 mg/kg BB. Parameter antiinflamantory observed with calculating ability of extract and preparation thus ginger lessens or depress degree of oedema during certain. Level of oedema volume happened is measured by means of pletisnometer. The result of research indicates that ginger ethanol extract at dose 30, 100, 300 mg/kg BB and preparation thus ginger with dose 360 mg/kg BB gives effect antiinflamantory. Highest effect given by ginger extract with dose 300 mg/kg BB with inhibition percentage happened at to 6 at day ke-10 that is 84%. And result of statistician examination in analysis variansi ( ANOVA) to oedema volume after giving of ethanol extract and preparation became ginger to give effect antiinflamantory which real is different if it is compared to control.

Abstract

The effect of drying methods on gaining of phenolic content and antioxidant activity of Phyllanthus niruri herbs have been investigated. The phenolic content was determined by using Folin-Ciocalteu method and antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH method. Result of this investigation showed that phenolic content of fresh, air drying, 400C oven drying, and 600C oven drying were 4.965 mg/g; 0.972 mg/g; 2.022 mg/g and 1.625 mg/g, respectively. IC50 of these sample were 0.445 mg/mL; 4.030 mg/mL; 0.697 mg/mL and 1.875 mg/mL.

Abstract

A research has been performed on the effect of lubricant to a solid dispersion system of paracetamol tablet with polyetilenglicol 6000, the solid dispersion system of paracetamol-polyetilenglicol 6000 is prepared through the dissolution method with 7 : 3 comparison. Then physiochemical characteristics and dissolution profile evalution is ferformed to three lubricant materials, which is aerosol, stearate magnesium, and talcum.
