Abstract

This research will discuss about language development in its use as a publication media on ads (advertisements). Ads makers are usually trying to make ads with interesting forms, in order to drive consumers interest on their products. However, in adss words (writing) making process, there are often confusions on putting words into sentences, or the words selection as well. This phenomenon is also emerging in the ads that uses Japanese. Sometimes the Japanese writing rules and norms are often overlooked and only consider its aesthetic point, until many errors occurs both in its writing or in the words meaning. Researchers formulate two problems that appear in this descriptive research, i.e. what kinds of syntax errors that appear in the ads writing that use Japanese and what kinds of things that infuenced the emergence of these writing mistakes. The results of this research are two mistakes, 12 phrasemistakes and one sentence error. The cause of these mistakes occurrence is mainly due to errors in typing or misstyping. Other mistakes are caused by human errors in the process of ads making, and mistakes due to technical problems such as damage to ads media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap strategi yang digunakan oleh siswa dan peranan pusat bahasa. Subyek penelitian adalah kelas pertama yang bergabung dalam SLC yang memiliki kmampuan mendengar pada tingkat Low Intermediate. Data diambil menggunakan tiga cara, yaitu observasi, interview, dan kuisioner. Kuisioner terbuka digunakan untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh SLC berperan pada kemampuan mendengar mereka. Selain itu kuisioner juga mencakup Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (Oxford, 1990) yang telah diadopsi. SIIL digunakan untuk mengetahui strategi yang digunakan oleh subyek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pertama, penghindaran rasa takut (avoiding the fear) sangat berperan dalam peningkatan kemampuan mendengar; dan yang kedua, strategi yang paling disukai siswa adalah strategi metakognif

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang kata-kata baru dalam istilah fashion Legging yang mengalami proses morfologis. Perkembangan dalam dunia fashion juga membuat terbentuknya istilah-istilah baru yang terbentuk dan digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Ketika kata-kata baru terbentuk, masing-masing kata tersebut memiliki arti yang baru pula. Dalam penelitian ini, kata-kata baru terbentuk dengan proses Blending. Proses Blending yaitu ketika satu kata digabungkan dengan satu kata lain untuk membentuk satu kata baru yang memiliki arti yang berbeda. Proses blending diikuti pula oleh etimologi dari setiap kata, karena ketika kata-kata digabungkan, masing-masing dari setiap kata tersebut memiliki makna yang berbeda dengan kata lainnya untuk membentuk kata baru yang membentuk makna baru. Proses blending juga diikuti oleh proses etimologi. Proses etimologi berfungsi untuk mengetahui makna dari setiap kata. Ketika dua kata atau lebih digabungkan, maka akan menghasilkan suatu kata baru yang berbeda makna. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini makna dari suatu kata dianalisis melalui proses etimologi agar bisa dengan mudah diucapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari

Abstract

This research is intented to gather empirical data concerning: (1) the development of interactif multimedia CD-ROM as a media in French language learning; and (2) the students perception in utilisation of interactif multimedia CD-ROM in French language learning. A qualitative and quantitative research approach were used to answer the problem stated in this research. Several tests, questionary, litterature study and interview were applied as an instrument and technic to gather those data. Based on the analysis of the data, we concluded that (1) all the subject proposed in the CD-ROM were arranged to answer the students and teachers needs; (2) both students and teacher were satisfied by using the CD-ROM multimedia interactif in the classroom.

Abstract

There is a lot of information that contain meanings expansion. Especially Wakamono Kotoba, Japanese language used by young people contains semantic expansion. Such words are usually not included in the existing dictionaries, making the meanings of these words diflicult to be recognized. However,Wakamono Kotoba often cannot be recognized as onesemantic word by morphological analysis.Used Wakamono Kotoba limited to certain groups of young people (teens in the community).Wakamono Kotoba is mainly classified into two groups: one expresses or evokes emotion and another does not. However, this classificationis sometimes not so clear semantically. For example, the word Yabai originally means dangerous, but young generations use it to mean great. Yabai is a direct example where the original negative emotion is changed to a positive emotion in the usage of Wakamono Kotoba
