Abstract

Railways are a mode of transportation that is being liked by the public because of its efficiency. The train has its own road in the form of rails, it doesn’t mean the train doesn’t intersect other transportation. The train crossing is a conflict area for public road users with train. This includes train crossing at Kenjeran street. The kenjeran street itself is a national road that is quite strategic because it is one of the accesses to the Surabaya-Madura toll road. The research this time aims to find out the security aspects that must be improved at the train crossing kenjeran street. Including rider behaviour at the time of the train crossing. The method used for this research is direct observation of the field and also shares questionnaires to find out if a public road user understands regulations while on a train crossing. The research results of many signs or road markers are incomplete so that many road users do not know that in front of the train crossing. Other public road user behaviour is also a lot of offense.

Abstract

The success and failure of project implementation is often caused by poor planning and ineffective controls, so that project activities experience various obstacles such as the late completion of the project, the decline in the quality of work and the swelling of implementation costs. Project management is carried out to manage the project from the beginning of the project until the completion of the project properly. The case study in this study is PT. PP (Persero) Tbk. as the executing element of the construction work, it is in charge of organizing the construction of the Surabaya Caspian Tower Apartment in East Java. The CPM (Critical Path Method) method is used to find out how long a project has been completed and look for possible acceleration of project time. From the research using the CPM method, it can be seen that the normal duration of project completion is 453 days which can be optimized to 350 days. This can be done by giving special attention to activities included in the critical path and accelerating some activities by increasing the number of workers

Abstract

Waste processing sites have a sueful life, as the activities and populations increase in the Surakarta City has led to increasing volume of the garbage that come to landfill every day. Putri Cempo’s Landfill operation system still uses the conventional system, called open dumping. This system causes accumulation of garbage increasingly mountainous and not polluted. Therefore, a system called sanitary landfill is planned to increase landfill capacity and extend the life of landfill. The purpose of this final project is to plan the development of landfill in Surakarta City with a sanitary landfill system. This development is made by making landfill cell in lieu of the open dumping system. The method of landfill cell waste using the trench method to further optimize landfill cell land. The development of TPA using a sanitary landfill was carried out in an area of 6.7 Ha. With the prediction of the amount of waste entering the landfill in 2026 around 15.041 tons/year. The age of using landfill is predicted to range from 5 years and the drainage size used is 50x50 and 100x50 made from river stone for around the landfill and made from precast cell for around the facilities building

Abstract

A series of Development and Operations (DevOps) in the process of making the Narotama University Management Information System have not been implemented properly by previous developers. There are improvements or additional features of the Management Information System that are in accordance with the functionality and the increasing development needs that will be used by the academic community, so that the Management Information System developer has a little difficulty in integrating documents and distributing applications with different packages to the Production Server. In this study, a new system design is proposed by applying the practice of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery as a document integration process and can simplify the application distribution process, as well as implementing the Docker Container Platform as an application container with different packages that can be run on production server together. The results of implementing the practice of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and the implementation of the Docker Container Platform are able to help integrate documents between developers and be able to release fixes and add features packaged in different containers automatically and periodically without long delays. which only takes an average of 17.9 seconds in the process of sending the application to the Production Server.

Abstract

The transformer is very expensive and bulky power system equipment. It runs and feed the load for 24 hours a day. Sometimes the load on the transformer unexpectedly rises above its rated capacity in that situation the load on the transformer increases and it will be overloaded and current will increase and cause overheating which in results damage the insulation of transformer. That insulation failure resulting in interruption of power supply. The common problems which transformer face is overloading voltage fluctuations and heating effect. It takes lot of time to fix the transformer so that a device need to be introduced a device which would help in automatically sharing of these over voltages. We will try to build an automated transformer sharing system in this project where the transformer current is confined to auxiliary transformer and automatically enters system. There are three transformers working as sources in this project, initially when the main switched ON the load that time load will be shared through the first transformer but when the load on first transformer suddenly increase above its reference value then immediately second transformer connected parallel with first transformer automatically through PLC by busing relay circuit.

Abstract

As the demand of energy increases, renewable technologies are dominating in the recent years. Solar energy is one of the leading technologies in all of the renewable energies, due to its simplicity. In Pakistan, solar PV stand-alone units are mostly used to meet the energy requirements. During production of solar PV panel, it emits out lot of waste heat and it is necessary to calculate these emissions. This study investigates the complete Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of two different types of solar panels which are locally available in Hyderabad markets. Complete modeling of Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline PV panels has been done by using GaBi software. This study shows the complete waste heat emissions during each stage of PV panel production. Two different types (Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline) of solar panels are designed under the dimensions of 1 m2. It is calculated that Monocrystalline PV panels are more efficient than Polycrystalline PV panels and they generates more units of electricity under same temperature conditions during its complete life. To enhance the electrical efficiency of solar PV panel, cooling system must be provided across it. The comparative analysis shows that Polycrystalline PV panels requires less amount of electrical energy as compare to Monocrystalline PV panels resulting in the reduction of waste heat emission. At the end of life, this study highlights the significance of recycling of solar panels which consider the reuse of the raw material. In this study, the combination of mechanical, thermal, and chemical process of recycling is considered. Recycling rate of solar PV panel has been assumed to be 90%. Recycling of raw material reduces the waste heat emission during purification process of raw material. Thus, cost is reduced and beneficial for environmental aspects. Result shows that recycling of solar PV panel is more beneficial than landfill for environmental and economic aspects.

Abstract

Researchers are working on techniques to mitigate failure rates as low as possible to avoid potential harm, sustain high power efficiency for this a considerable number of estimation studies were already performed and several designs of methodologies were being suggested. The transmission line performs the role of the arteries which maintain the process of transporting electricity in the transmission line. That is why it is important to maintain and manage the costs of these tracks. Surge arrestor and shield wire application are often techniques chosen for defensive strategy in a very technique. By pushing travelling waves towards the electrical equipment mounted on the transmission line, the effects of lightning stoke on the transmission line may cause severe damage to the electrical equipment. In this review, this research study provides a review-based overview of the mechanism of occurrence of lightning along with its impact on the transmission line and the defence methods used to prevent such effects. A MATLAB / SIMULINK 2020a simulation modeling-based analysis for the incidence of lightning on the 33 kV transmission line system is observed in this regard, and a Metal-Oxide surge arrestor-based lightning fault clearance safety scheme is also suggested and discussed.
