Abstract

Parking is one element means that can not be separated from road transport system as a whole. Parking is a problem that is often encountered in the urban transport system both in major cities and in the growing city. Parking problems are also a thing that can not be handled several hospitals. The number of hospital facilities will encourage people to visit the hospital. The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs of a parking space, to determine the pattern of the corresponding parking space is used in a general hospital Avicenna. The method applied in this research is to conduct a survey directly in the field include admission-out to get the data of the vehicle. Analysis of vehicle data to get a parking volume, accumulation, The results of the analysis obtained by the characteristics of parking for 2-wheel vehicles and wheels 4 have the highest volume in a row parking for 679 vehicles and 120 vehicles

Abstract

Lightweight concrete is very much developed because of its benefits that can reduce the weight of the building itself, so that the earthquake effect on buildings can be minimized. By using Foam Agent Technology, it will add air pores which can reduce the specific gravity of normal concrete. To achieve the K 300 Concrete Quality with Light Weight, the researchers added Polymer and Polymer and Bonding mixture to the Concrete mixture using Foam Agent technology. From the research conducted by researchers, it was found that Foam Agent is able to help concrete become lighter by 13%. This research was also able to obtain the optimum compressive strength results with a light weight, the Light Concrete study with the addition of Foam Agent, Polymer and Bonding with a quality of 267 kg / cm² or equivalent to Fc 22 with a weight of 1877 Kg / cm³ and an efficiency coefficient of 14% which is higher than normal Concrete K 300 with a magnitude of 13%.

Abstract

Blended learning is one of the key pedagogical approaches being used in Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. The latest e-learning technology has obvious potential in making polytechnics more competitive at the same time capable in producing good quality graduates and ready to compete in educational services globally. The main objective of this study is to identify the level of acceptance and impact of Blended Learning among lecturers in Polytechnic Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin. Relative and non-dependent variable factors were used to test whether the lecturers' acceptance factor determines the level of implementation of this blended learning. A survey was conducted by using a set of questionnaire to collect quantitative data involving 270 respondents representing several academic departments in the Polytechnic of Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (PSMZA). The data were analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20.0 software to obtain percentage values, frequency and mean scores. A pilot study found that the Alpha Cronbach's alpha was 0.933 and it showed a high level of reliability for the items tested. The scope of this study focuses on the level of acceptance and impact of Blended Learning only. Overall, respondents positively accept Blended Learning as part of learning and teaching process.

Abstract

The work environment is changing from time to time in line with the introduction of new technology. Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) forces education providers to identify the characteristics of future workers' needs by the industry. To fulfill this demand, polytechnic created a close relationship with industry through conducting many programs such as dialog between industry and polytechnic, CEO@Faculty, the industry in campus and employer satisfaction study with polytechnic graduate. However, previous studies compared employer satisfaction among industry clusters are very limited. The objective of this study was to examine employer satisfaction with Politeknik Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (PSMZA) graduate and to compare employer satisfaction between industry clusters. A total of 112 employers from three main engineering clusters; mechanical (46%), electrical (30%) and civil (24%) involved in this study. This study used two-step analysis: Kruskal-Wallis test was used to identify differences for three industry clusters; mechanical, electrical and civil engineering and Post Hoc test performs to identify the detail differences between each cluster. The results show that employers in the mechanical engineering cluster are less satisfied with PSMZA graduates compared to employers in civil engineering clusters for computer skills in processing information. This study also found that compared to employers in the electrical engineering cluster, employers in the mechanical cluster are less satisfied with PSMZA graduates related to proficiency in the English language. In terms of entrepreneurship skills, employers in the mechanical cluster found less satisfaction with a graduate from PSMZA compared to employers in the electrical cluster. Findings from this study can be used by the department as a guide in revising their curriculum in the future.

Abstract

Young drivers among the group recorded highest fatalities index in road traffic crashes. The objective of this study was to identify factors affecting injury severity of young drivers using 5-years crash data (2008-2012) in Sabah, Malaysia. This study used a combination of parametric and non-parametric analysis to allows the specification of nonlinearities and interactions in addition to main effects. The results indicate that crashes on nighttime, federal roads and involved with a single-vehicle are positively associated with injury among young drivers. Interestingly, municipal roads, female drivers, crashes on the roundabout and T/Y junction are less likely to involve injury. A higher-order interaction suggests that not-at-fault young drivers involved with out-of-control or hit the object are more likely to be severe. On the other hand, young passenger car drivers involved in overturn and sideswipe collisions are negatively associated with the injury. It was also found that young drivers with driving too close behaviour are less likely to injure when involved in rear-end collisions for passenger car and four-wheel drive. Findings of this study will help relate authorities to design well-targeted restrictive measures in reducing the severity level of young drivers in traffic crashes.

Abstract

Leadership is a critical aspect in organisation. As in 21st century, it’s shown that there are stiff competitions between giant companies to dominate the world economy. Literature shows that their secret of success depends on an open and innovative leadership. Academic leadership should be changed literally to tackle the globalization challenges, in line with technological advances. Leaders can be considered as a goal-setter, advocator, initiator, communicator, supporter, coordinator, coach, evaluator, manager, information provider and role model while implementing changes within the organisation. This study aims to identify leadership style in TVET education by 21st century. The method used for the study is by analyzing and comparing the document with reference from previous review. Identification of theories that uphold leadership style will be the result of this study. This proves the connection between the theories used in this study.
