Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional challenge in Indonesia that is still unresolved and shows a high prevalence in Brebes Regency, which is 29,1%. Stunting prevention efforts must be pursued by optimizing the role of the family in the first 1000 days of life (1000 HPK), one of which is through the approach of families with stunting risk. This study is an analysis of families with stunting risk from the result of updating family data collection in 2021 in Ketanggungan district, Brebes Regency will be carried out in 2022. The aim of this research is to ascertain the risk elements and main risk factors that exist in families at risk of stunting in Ketanggungan District. This study uses a mixed method approach with descriptive analysis and cross sectional design. Over-old age couples' conditions are a main risk factor in families with stunting risk at 48.3%, and then the risk factor in the next sequence is improper lateritic ownership (29,0%), too many children (27,7%), risk factors are too close to birth distance (10.8%) and too young to become pregnant (9.7%). An unworthy risk factor of drinking water resources is the lowest risk factor at 5.2%. Assistance for families with risk of stunting through strengthening family planning programs, providing latrines and proper drinking water sources through relevant stakeholders and corporate social responsibility  partnerships is expected to reduce stunting rates in Brebes Regency.  Key words: family with stunting risk, four too aspect, latrines, sources of drinking water, stunting

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus has become a global health problem due to a significant increase in its prevalence. Hyperglycemia, or elevated blood glucose levels, is a hallmark of diabetes mellitus and is caused by either insufficient insulin production by pancreatic beta cells or reduced insulin sensitivity in target cells. HbA1C examination is one of the glycemic controls in the assessment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Good glycemic control is crucial for individuals with diabetes mellitus, as complications can arise from poor glycemic control. One common complication is diabetic nephropathy, which is a leading cause of chronic kidney failure, necessitating patients to undergo dialysis therapy or kidney transplantation , and can be diagnosed by serum creatinine levels examination. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between HbA1C and serum creatinine levels in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Krakatau Medika Hospital in Cilegon. The research employed an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design. The data used were primary data obtained through quota sampling, with a population of 41 type 2 DM patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Using Pearson correlation test, the result showed a p-value of 0.031 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between HbA1C levels and creatinine levels. The value of r = 0.337 indicated a weak positive correlation between HbA1C and creatinine levels. From this study, it could be concluded that there was a significant weak positive HbA1C correlation with creatinine levels at Krakatau Medika Hospital in Cilegon.

Abstract

Hypertension is a degenerative disease that many Indonesians suffer from. The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is around 30 percent with the incidence of cardiovascular disease complications being greater in women, around 52 percent, compared to men, namely 48 percent. Hypertension is a disease that is increasingly being found in the Gunungpati District of Semarang City, including many in Sadeng Village. From the preliminary study, it was found that 14 out of 20 respondents had hypertension with systolic blood pressure ranging between 120-177 mmHg with a mean of 155 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ranging between 77-98 mmHg with a mean of 90 mmHg. The aim of this study was to determine the risk factors for hypertension in women of childbearing age in the Gunungpati Community Health Center working area, Semarang City. This research uses an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional design. The population of this study was 1,540 women of childbearing age with a sample of 101 women of childbearing age using purposive sampling technique. The variables studied were blood pressure, age, family history, exposure to cigarette smoke and stress. Data analysis using Chi-Square. The results of bivariate analysis showed that the significant variable was family history (p=0.013). Variables that were not significant were exposure to cigarette smoke (p=0.398) and stress (p=0.839). From this research, it can be concluded that respondents who have a family history of hypertension are at 2 times greater risk than women of childbearing age who do not have a family history of hypertension. To prevent hypertension, you can prevent it from an early age by adopting a healthy lifestyle such as doing enough physical activity and avoiding other risk factors.

Abstract

Improving nutrition and improving the health status of infants can be done through growth monitoring and nutritional status assessment at posyandu every month. During posyandu activities, a nutrition intervention or counselling through infographic  also carried out to increase maternal awareness of good infant feeding.  The aim of the study was to determine the increase in knowledge and infant feeding by mothers in Sumbang Village after the nutritional intervention. This study design used experimental method with counselling using infographic  media to 48 mothers of infants and toddlers. The bivariate analysis used was Wilcoxon test. A p value of 0.03 was obtained for changes in knowledge level and a p value of 0.04 for changes in feeding practices both before and after the intervention. The use of infographic  media was effective enough in improving knowledge and feeding practices of infants and toddlers in Sumbang Village, Sumbang District.

Abstract

One of the health problems throughout the world, especially in developing countries, where an estimated 30% of its population experiences it, is anaemia. Anaemia is common in society, especially in teenagers and pregnant women. The number of cases of adolescent anaemia is still quite high, and in 2019, the global prevalence of anemia was 29.9% (95% uncertainty interval (UI) 27.0%, 32.8%) in fertile women, equivalent to more than half a billion women aged 15-49 years (WHO, 2019). This study aims to determine the factors (level of knowledge, distribution of Fe Tablets, and teacher support at school) that influence the success of giving Fe Tablets to teenagers at Ma'arif Middle School, Gamping. The type of research used by researchers employed analytical descriptive research, which used a total sampling approach with the chi-square test. This research was conducted in August 2023 with a sample size of 55 female students, and data collection was carried out by filling out a questionnaire. The results of the knowledge of adolescent girls regarding anaemia and Fe tablets were mostly (50.5%) in the good category; school support for consuming Fe tablets in the majority of samples (67.3%) was in the less supportive category, as well as, for accuracy of teenage female students. Most of the students (52.7%) took Fe tablets correctly. The conclusion of this research is that from the three factors studied (knowledge, Fe tablets distribution, and school support), it is known that there is no influence of these factors on the accuracy of consuming Fe tablets at Ma'arif Middle School, Gamping. Keywords: Knowledge, School Support, Fe Tablets.
