Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the method of playing a role in student confidence in Indonesian subjects. The quasi-experimental method is used as a research method with the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design research design. The population of all students in the primary school state of Cilaku. Samples were taken as many as 48 students from the VA class of 24 students as the control class and the VB class of 24 as the experimental class. The data analysis technique used in determining the average, calculating the standard deviation, normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. The results showed that the variable of students 'confidence using the role-playing method obtained an average posttest score of 78.33. In contrast, the results of students' confidence using conventional learning received an average posttest score of 66.17. Then the hypothesis test is performed, which shows the results of t count 4.09 and t table = 2.074 with n-2 = 24-2 = 22 and a significance level of 0.05. Based on the t count ˃ t-test criteria, Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that the role-playing method influences students' confidence in Indonesian subjects.

To form a new professional Civil Servants (PNS), there needs to be an update on the current pattern of education and training. The practice of conducting Pre-service Training with classical learning patterns is more dominated by lecture methods, making it difficult to form the basic values of the PNS profession, especially the internalization process in each of the Pre-service Training participants. The focus or subject of this research is all parties involved in the implementation of Regular Group III Pre-service Training in South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan, which took place on 28 September to 30 October 2015 at Banjarmasin Religious Education and Training Center. Abstract

School holiday enrichment program annually organized by PERMATApintar National Gifted Centre was to uncover hidden talents in science and mathematics. Students in this program were grouped into different courses. In order to run the Introduction to Cryptology course for primary school students, a new module has been developed. This module has been implemented for the first time during the school holiday program in December 2017. Thus, this study aimed at determining mathematics achievement of 34 Malaysian primary school students in Introduction to Cryptology course. An examination consisting of a set of questions on mathematical concepts was being given to each of the students during the final day of the program. Student scores were being evaluated to assess their achievement. Findings indicate that 73.6% of students scored between 80 and 100 in the examination. Students have good achievement in the concept of integers but they have deficiency in the concept of matrices. Hence, it can be concluded that the students indeed have special ability in doing mathematics. Since matrices were new to Malaysian primary school students, thus interesting activities relating to matrices will be included in the module to intensify students’ motivation in mathematics.

Abstract

Pesantren are traditional Islamic educational institutions which are never used up to be discussed and studied. One of the exciting things to study is how pesantren design basic "classes" so that they can make effective and efficient learning while staying oriented towards learning goals. And how do pesantren make "class" a secure emotional connection between teacher (kyai), student (santri), and teaching material (kitab kuning) in the class so that class harmonization appears within the typical scope of pesantren-style learning. Kitab Kuning learning in pesantren has a unique "model" in carrying out its education; this particularity is then interesting to be used as study material as another alternative in organizing education. Kitab Kuning learning in pesantren adheres to management that is different from class management in general, both in terms of curriculum structure, class construction, and interaction of existing learning components. In general, Kitab Kuning learning in pesantren is divided into 3 (three) levels, namely the primary level (Ula), the intermediate level (Wusta), and the upper level (Ulya). However, this research focuses more on the basic level (Ula), because this level is a determinant of success at the next grade level. Santri at the elementary level are not directly taught the Kitab Kuning, but were introduced first how to read and write the ‘Pegon’ Script. So, students who just entered were conditioned in such a way as to be more familiar with the ‘Pegon’ Script. Therefore, it will be discussed about the patterns and models of class management in the learning of the Kitab Kuning at As-Sunniyah Kencong Pesantren and Baitul Arqom Balung Pesantren in Jember Regency using behavior modification, socio-emotional, and group process approach, which is seen in the classroom conduciveness based on class conduciveness, the element of spirituality, namely the synergistic and harmonious interaction between the kiai, the teacher, and the santri in achieving the learning objectives.

The student sector is one of the important components in the management of education quality. This research is qualitative-descriptive research, which is expected to be able to uncover various information with a careful and meaningful description-analysis. Sources of data in this study include the principal, student vice-principal, Al-Islam teacher, and Kemuhammadiyahan teacher. Data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation, as for the data analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data analysis. The results of the study include (a) quality management in the field of student implemented based on the values of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan. (b) Islamic and Kemuhammdiyahan values are the quality standards of the student field.

Abstract

The heyday of Islam began in the middle of the 7th century, but today we find that Muslims are struggling to make a name for themselves in pioneering science and technology. That should not be the case, because many of the creations enjoyed today are actually based on creations from Islamic civilization and not from the West. Therefore, to restore this glory, a new plan must start from now. Among other things, through the development of worship products for the use of Muslims, especially in Southeast Asia. To make the idea of developing this worship product clear, several examples of existing worship products are presented and discussed their weaknesses from a design perspective. Five examples of innovative products specifically designed for the needs of Muslims are clarified. The reason for the need for innovation in worship products is also statistically discussed in depth based on the growth of Muslims, with more than 1.6 billion Muslims. Furthermore, as many as nine groups of worship products that have the potential to be developed are products for prayer, recitation, pilgrimage, and umrah. Finally, design features need to be considered for developing worship products. It is hoped that the innovative products of worship services will generate wealth to improve the quality of life of Muslims throughout the world.
