Abstract— The purpose of this paper is to achieve the system design that can supply energy from solar PV to the water pump irrigation motor. This research focused on design system of boost converter cascade series connected. Battery charging process and load supply is taken in the same time when the sun irradiation still exist. Power plant supply the power to the motor load with the capacity 2 HP, 90% efficiency, 380 Volt 3-phase. Inverter power rating is 1,750 Watt with the input voltage is 650 Volt-dc. Terminal voltage of inverter is 380 Volt-ac, 3-phase. Pump operate within ten hours during daylight and fourteen hours during day night. Terminal voltage from the first converter is about 114 Vdc and the second converter is about 650 Vdc. Batteries used is 3 x 12 V in series connected with the capacity of 40 Ah for each battery. Output power that produced from PV is controlled by first stage boost converter that has function to supply the power to the boost converter_2 circuit to achieve the Maximum Power Point (MPP). Controller is used for rising the efficiency of MPP. From the output boost converter_2 terminal, it’s connected to inverter that convert output DC voltage from the boost converter_2 to AC voltage 380 V, 3-phase and 50 Hz. Design of system model is simulated in MATLAB software. The result of simulation shows the scheme proposed could supply the power to energize the motor of water pump within 24 hours.

Fire cases caused by an electrical short circuit (arc flash) at low voltage are still very high in Indonesia recently. Several studies about characteristic analysis of arc flash at low voltage has been done. In this study, an experiments of arc flash phenomena at low voltages using an artificial short-circuit device is conducted. The arc flash’s experiment is applied to low voltage stranded conductor cable 1.5mm2 (24 filaments) with resistive load using some objects as short-circuit media (metallic objects, non-metallic objects, and solution). Low voltage arc flash characteristics such as maximum current, maximum power, duration and energy of each short circuit media to be analyzed. The results of this study is expected to design protective device (detector) that can be detected low voltage arc flash in future research

Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) was defined as a task for finding of the shortest route. The finding of the shortest route influences a price of delivery service and profit of company. Therefore, we proposed an implementation of Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) based on Dijkstra’s Algorithm in a information systems of delivery services" for optimizing the finding of shortest route. This algorithm using distance which is extracted from Google Maps. There are 60 routes which are tested. The results show the accuracy of TSP based on Dijkstra’s algorithm is 100%. The results can be concluded that the implementation of Dijkstra’s algorithm is accurate for finding the shortest route.

Measurement of electrical quantities such as voltage, current, resistance becomes a part in checking the electrical equipment both for industry and households. Digital Multimeter (DMM) can be used as a measurement of electrical quantities. Sometimes the operator can make mistakes such as connecting cable at wrong place, or forgot to change the measurement range so it can break the DMM fuse. Frequent use of calibrator can make text on function button indistinct. DMM calibration should be performed periodically to guarantee the truth values of the results from measurement of electrical quantities. Truth values can be achieved by adding correction value read on DMM. Calculating correction values can be easily done by software and written automatically on certificate of calibration. By involving software in calibration procedure, we can remind the operator when the operator connect the cables at wrong place or forget to change the electrical quantities range with pop up menu that appears on the software. We can generate certificate of calibration automatically from template in which the correction values are calculated.

IEDs (Improvised Explosive Device) are one of the main causes of injuries during a war. IEDs are also the most commonly used weapon by malefactors for it is cheap and easy to be crafted. This weapon may vary in color, shape, and size. They can be triggered remotely by radio signal, pressure, or even timer. The complexity of their system has made them be carefully treated. One of the most promising solutions to counter these explosives is using EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) robots. These robots may pack so many features to counter measure the varying types of IEDs. The more feature the robot has, the more difficult how it would be controlled. Some researchers have tried to add intelligent or autonomous features to aid the operator. In this study is proposed an autonomous feature to the robot. The robot will approach autonomously to the target while maintaining its trajectory. The trajectory control is using proportional control method with visual feedback. The robot is panning its body with the camera attached to maintain its trajectory. The data shows that with this control system the robot respond to the input in only 12 seconds, and during the experiment, its highest error is 6.5o of panning degrees. The accuracy of the system is relative to the distance of the robot and the target. The maximum distance is up to 330 cm.

Abstract—Braille letters is characters designed for the blind, composed of six embossed points, arranged in a standard braille character. Braille letters is touched and read using fingers, therefore the sensitivity of the fingers is important. Those characters need to be memorized, so it is very difficult to be learned. The aim of this research is to create a braille characters recognition system and translate it to alpha-numeric text. Webcam camera is used to capture braille image from braille characters on the paper sheet. Cropping, grayscale, thresholding, erotion, and dilation techniques are used for image preprocessing. Then, find contour and artificial neural network method are used to recognize the braille characters. The system can recognize braille characters with 99% accuracy even when the braille image is tilted up to 1 degrees. Keywords— Artifial neural network; braille characters; find contour; image processing; webcam

Fundamental research about Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) indicates that FES can be used to rehabilitate motoric system of patient experiencing damage at arrangement of central nerve resulted from cerebrospinal of cord injury (SCI) and also stroke. To generate impulse to human body organ activated by FES is difficult and very complex because of nonlinearity response from neuromuscular system, various response of musculoskeletal system such as having long time delay and fatigue phenomenon (muscle fatigue). Therefore, an open-looped control system is inappropriate to employ. Closelooped control is feasibly appropriate to overcome this constraint in FES appliance to yield accurate impulse generator. Fo r the application of closed-loop control at clinical level, FES system must be designed using portable multi-channel device to pleasant the patient. In this research, the realized FES stimulator is designed by employing a highly linear boost converter circuit using fixed frequency and duty cycle ranging from 0% to 25%, because it yields relatively linear and higher output voltage swing than FES controlled by frequency

In Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC), the dye sensitizer plays the key role. Dye-sensitizer embedded in TiO2 will be able to absorb visible light up to approximately 800 nm and the energy conversion efficiency increase. In this study provides performance of pandan leaf pigment for Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC). The dye from pandan leaf pigment was extracted using distilled water solvent with various temperature, then investigated the absorption spectrum using UV-Vis spectroscopy. The extracted dye was adsorbed onto the surface of TiO2 based on Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. The inhibition of crystallinity of TiO2 was likewise investigated by X-ray analysis.

Propagation environment greatly affect the performance of wireless network. The excistence of obstacles between transmitter and receiver antennas provide shadowing effect to the transmitted signal. In multi-hop radio link, any link pairs experience shadowing effect that can be correlated if the links have a similar propagation environment. Various studies have shown that correlated shadowing has significant impacts on wireless network’s performance. This paper discusses shadowing correlation of measured two-hop radio link. We propose models that can be used to predict shadowing correlation coefficient of link pairs using deterministic and stochastic formulas. We give an example of the effect of correlated shadowing on the performance of multi-hop radio link in term of its outage probability.
