Abstract

Information extraction from data is one of the key necessities for data analysis. Unsupervised nature of data leads to complex computational methods for analysis. This paper presents a density based spatial clustering technique integrated with one-class Support Vector Machine (SVM), a machine learning technique for noise reduction, a modified variant of DBSCAN called Noise Reduced DBSCAN (NRDBSCAN). Analysis of DBSCAN exhibits its major requirement of accurate thresholds, absence of which yields suboptimal results. However, identifying accurate threshold settings is unattainable. Noise is one of the major side-effects of the threshold gap. The proposed work reduces noise by integrating a machine learning classifier into the operation structure of DBSCAN. The Experimental results indicate high homogeneity levels in the clustering process.

Abstract

IPTV was convergency product between broadcasting, telecommunication and information technology because gave multimedia service such TV broadcasting, video, audio, text, and data that transmitted  by using IP protocol. IPTV service had better quality than conventional TV, such as voice over internet protocol (VoIP), data (internet), and video on demand (VoD). This research had purpose to analyze QoS (delay, jitter, MOS and throughput) from IPTV service such as VoIP, internet (HTTP, FTP), and IPTV in the simulation. The QoS resulted from simulation will be compared with standard ITU-T. The result showed bandwidth requirement for downlink and uplink from the services for  VoIP 50 kbps,  internet  54 kbps, and the IPTV service  6.5 Mbps. The QoS result showed that used bandwidth  less than 15 Mbps, resulted jitter and delay that can not tolerated or  QoS more than 250 ms and MOS less than 2. The QoS resulted from queue method had applied on the node DSLAM with bandwidth 8 Mbps, only can decreased the value of delay and jitter as 50% - 65% at VoIP and internet services. PQ method became one of the queue method that can be optimalizing of QoS eventhough only decreased the jitter 10%.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ij-ict.v1i2.594

Abstract

Optical character recognition is one of the emerging research topics in the field of image processing, and it has extensive area of application in pattern recognition. Odia handwritten script is the most research concern area because it has eldest and most likable language in the state of odisha, India. Odia character is a usually handwritten, which was generally occupied by scanner into machine readable form. In this regard several recognition technique have been evolved for variance kind of languages but writing pattern of odia character is just like as curve appearance; Hence it is more difficult for recognition. In this article we have presented the novel approach for Odia character recognition based on the different angle based symmetric axis feature extraction technique which gives high accuracy of recognition pattern. This empirical model generates a unique angle based boundary points on every skeletonised character images. These points are interconnected with each other in order to extract row and column symmetry axis. We extracted feature matrix having mean distance of row, mean angle of row, mean distance of column and mean angle of column from centre of the image to midpoint of the symmetric axis respectively. The system uses a 10 fold validation to the random forest (RF) classifier and SVM for feature matrix. We have considered the standard database on 200 images having each of 47 Odia character and 10 Odia numeric for simulation. As we have noted outcome of simulation of SVM and RF yields 96.3% and 98.2% accuracy rate on NIT Rourkela Odia character database and 88.9% and 93.6% from ISI Kolkata Odia numerical database.

Abstract

Virtual Output Queuing (VOQ) is a well-known queuing discipline in data switch architecture that eliminates Head Of Line (HOL) blocking issue. In VOQ scheme, for each output port, a separate FIFO is maintained by each input port. Consequently, a scheduling algorithm is required to determine the order of service to virtual queues at each time slot. Maximum Weight Matching (MWM) is a well-known scheduling algorithm that achieves the entire throughput region. Despite of outstanding attainable throughput, high complexity of MWM makes it an impractical algorithm for implementation in high-speed switches. To overcome this challenge, a number of randomized algorithms have been proposed in the literature. But they commonly perform poorly when input traffic does not uniformly select output ports. In this paper, we propose two randomized algorithms that outperform the well-known formerly proposed solutions. We exploit a method to keep a parametric number of heavy edges from the last time matching and mix it by randomly generated matching to produce a new schedule. Simulation results confirm the superior performance of the proposed algorithms.

Abstract

The integration of computer games in the primary school program is a challenging task which requires changes in the pedagogical approach and teaching practices. Since it is important to understand students, this study follows student-centered approach while evaluating different variables in computer game enhanced classes, which impact the overall students’ Quality of Experience (QoE). We involved a total of 114 students in several primary schools in Macedonia which participated in traditional and game-based learning environment. Students’ feedback was collected through surveys and the data set was analyzed with a path analysis model that illustrates relationships between relevant variables which influence students’ QoE in classes enhanced with computer games. We found that students’ motivation mostly influenced students’ QoE, which was also determined by the increased effectiveness and simplified way of learning. The research results correlated students’ QoE and learning outcomes during integration of computer games in primary schools, which were altogether increased against the traditional environment.

Abstract

Attenuation correction designed for PET/MR hybrid imaging frameworks along with portion making arrangements used for MR-based radiation treatment remain testing because of lacking high-energy photon weakening data. We present a new method so as to uses the learned nonlinear neighborhood descriptors also highlight coordinating toward foresee pseudo-CT pictures starting T1w along with T2w MRI information. The nonlinear neighborhood descriptors are acquired through anticipating the direct descriptors interested in the nonlinear high-dimensional space utilizing an unequivocal constituent guide also low-position guess through regulated complex regularization. The nearby neighbors of every near descriptor inside the data MR pictures are looked during an obliged spatial extent of the MR pictures among the training dataset. By that point, the pseudo-CT patches are evaluated through k-closest neighbor relapse. The planned procedure designed for pseudo-CT forecast is quantitatively broke downward on top of a dataset comprising of coordinated mind MRI along with CT pictures on or after 13 subjects.

Abstract

Fiber Raman amplifiers in ultra wide wavelength division multiplexing (UW-WDM) systems have recently received much more attention because of their greatly extended bandwidth and distributed amplification with the installed fiber as gain medium. It has been shown that the bandwidth of the amplifier can be further increased and gain spectrum can be tailored by using pumping with multiple wavelengths. Wide gain of the amplifier is considered where two sets of pumps NR {5,10} are investigated. The gain coefficient is cast under polynomial forms. The pumping wavelength lR is over the range 1.40 £ lR, mm £ 1.44 and the channel wavelength ls is over the range 1.45 £ ls, mm £ 1.65. Two multiplexing techniques are processed in long-haul transmission cables where number of channels is up to 10000 in ultra-wide wavelength division multiplexing (UW-WDM) with number of links up to 480. The problem is investigated over wide ranges of affecting sets of parameters.
