Abstract

The prevalence of under-five children under-red line in the working area of Karang Intan I Public Health Center is very high and continues to increase. In 2016 it was 10.3%, and in 2017 it was 12.2%. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with the occurrence of body weight below the red line in toddlers in the working area of Karang Intan 1. This study used analytic survey methods with cross-sectional approach. This study population was all toddlers, amounting to 801 people and a sample of 267 people with the purposive sampling method. The instrument used a questionnaire. The test used was the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed a relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding (ρ=0.001), feeding patterns (ρ=0,000), history of infectious diseases (ρ=0.042), maternal visits to Integrated healthcare center (Posyandu) (ρ=0.002), family economic status (ρ =0,0151) with the occurrence of body weight below the red line (BGM) in infants. Conclusion: there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding, eating care, history of infectious diseases, maternal visits to the Posyandu, family economic status towards the occurrence of body weight below the red line in toddlers. Parenting is a significant determinant of BGM events. These determinants can be used for screening the development and growth of infants.

Abstract

Malnutrition can be caused by delays in growth in children, including the development of gross motor, fine motor, language skill, and personality. Nowadays, 43% of children in developing countries are feared to have developmental disorders, and only 30% of pre-school children with developmental disorders are identified earlier. This study aimed to determine the relation of nutritional status and developmental status of children aged 12-36 months in Puskesmas Jetis Kota Yogyakarta. The design of this study was cross-sectional. The target population was children aged 12-36 months with 84 samples which are obtained by consecutive sampling. Nutritional status was obtained from measurements of weight and height or length from the WHO Standard. Developmental observations using the Denver II test. The data analysis used is fisher’s exact test. The result is the majority of the subject were in good nutrition and in good development status. There was a correlation between nutritional status and the developmental status of children aged 12-36 months with p-value 0,001. Underweight children were more likely 13,8 risk to have suspect development status compared to those in well-nourished

This study used primary data from the results of univariate and bivariate analysis data processing. Based on the statistical test, chi-square α=0.05 between knowledge of postpartum mothers, was obtained a p-value of 0.003 (p <0.05). The study concluded that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge postpartum care of wounds perineal and prevention of infection at the Siti Kholijah Hasibuan Clinic

The study population was mothers who had children aged nine months to 15 years in the working area of the Beruntung Baru Public Health Center, totaling 6,379 people. The sample size was 377 people. This study used accidental sampling. Univariate data analysis and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square statistical test. The results of the study showed a relationship between perceptions (p-value=0,001; OR=24,7) and and family support (p-value=0,001; OR=9,3) with giving MR immunization. This study suggests the Beruntung Baru public health center to improve health promotion on MR immunization by holding counseling so that the public could better understand MR immunization.

Abstract

Many mothers who give birth to Sectio Caesarea (SC) do not Initiate Early Breastfeeding (IMD), which fails exclusive breastfeeding. This study aimed to determine the effect of IMD management in postpartum SC mothers on nutritional status, speed of milk production, and quality of breast milk protein. Method: quantitative research with quasi approach experiment. The research design used was a pre-post-test control non-equivalent control group. A sampling of this study used the Consecutive method sampling with a sample of 20 mothers who gave birth by cesarean section (SC). Hypothesis testing uses the independent t-test and the Mann-Whitney test. The study results showed an influence on the management of IMD in postpartum SC mothers on the speed of ASI production (p-value=0.004) and nutritional status (p-value=0.028). There was no effect of IMD management on postpartum SC mothers on the quality of breast milk protein (p-value = 0.543). This study recommends that the hospital implement an IMD promotion program before the abdominal wall is closed as a form of intervention to increase milk production and maternal nutritional status
