Abstract

The aim of the research is to produce a pig feed cutting machine with an electric motor drive. This study used an experimental method by making and testing pig feed cutting tools with one type of blade using an electric motor drive. The materials used in testing the tool were water spinaches, sweet potato leaves, and banana stems. The calculations performed are the effective capacity of the tool and the efficiency of the tool. Tests were carried out on 3 types of feed ingredients, each of which was repeated 3 times with an electric motor rotation of 1400 rpm. The results showed that the pig feed cutting machine with an electric motor had the specifications: overall height 110 cm, front width 45 cm, side width 50 cm side inlet funnel height 17 cm and width 10 cm, funnel bottom exit height 23 cm and width 17 cm, the width of the electric motor mount is 45 cm and the length is 28 cm. The cutting blade uses a grass cutter blade with a blade length of 305 mm and a blade thickness of 1.6 mm. The effective capacity of the tool for cutting water spinaches (162 kg/hour), sweet potato leaves (162 kg/hour), banana stem (163.8 kg/hour). The efficiency of the tool for cutting kale and sweet potato leaves was the same, namely 90%, while the efficiency of the tool for cutting banana stems was 91.1%.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the thickness of the sago cracker slices on the drying time and the ability to swell the crackers in the frying process. The research was started by making sago cracker dough and then sliced ​​with a thickness of 3 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm. Each slice was then dried in the sun for 27 hours (3 days). The sampling of cracker chips was measured for water content at the 9th hour, 18th hour, and 27th hour. Cracker chips are fried to test their ability to swell. The results showed that the drying time for the thickness of the 3 mm sago cracker slices was the fastest compared to the 5 mm and 7 mm thickness of the sago cracker slices. The thickness of the 3 mm sago cracker slices also has the highest ability to swell compared to the 5 mm and 7 mm thicknesses of the sago cracker slices.

Abstract

Soil plays an important role in agriculture, soil cannot be separated from soil fertility in order to obtain maximum results. Soil quality on soil fertility is determined by the interaction of a number of physical, chemical and biological soil properties. pH, c-organic, and Al are some of the quality factors of soil fertility. Evaluation of pH, c-organic, and Al content aims to find out the current conditions and what solutions must be made. The research method was carried out by taking disturbed soil samples on primary, secondary, residential, and grassland lands, then carried out soil laboratory analysis. The results showed that: actual and potential soil pH is highest on residential land. The actual pH is 7.61 and the potential is 6.75 and is classified as neutral. While the actual pH in secondary forest, primary forest, and grasslands, the soil pH ranges from 4.42-4.99 which is classified as acid and the potential pH is 3.81-4.19 and is classified as very acidic. Meanwhile, the Al+ content was relatively low for each land use, namely 1.81-5.76 cmol/kg.

Abstract

Sago Baikumti is a traditional Yaqai food made from sago wrapped in leaves and cooked by grilling. This study aims to determine the effect of the wrapping leaves and the filling type of Baikumti Sago on the length of time and temperature of grilling and the characteristics of the organoleptic properties produced. The wrapping leaves used were nibung leaves and coconut leaves, while the stuffing mixture used was venison and grated coconut. The results showed that the temperature required to ripen Baikumti sago wrapped in nibung and coconut leaves ranged from 320-380 oC and 230-320 oC, respectively. The grilling time of each type of leaf wrapper is 20 minutes and 30 minutes. The results of the organoleptic test showed that Baikumti sago wrapped in nibung leaves with both filling types was preferable to Baikumti sago wrapped in coconut leaves. The panellists preferred the texture of Baikumti sago with venison filling to Baikumti sago with grated coconut filling. Baikumti sago wrapped in nibung leaves and coconut leaves with 2 types of filler has a good appearance and was liked by the panellists.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan hasil pertanian terutama tanaman pisang yang berlimpah dapat diolah menjadi berbagai jenis makanan, seperti pisang goreng, jus pisang dan kripik pisang. Industri Rumah Tangga (IRT) kripik pisang pada umumnya melakukan pengirisan secara manual, sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama dan tenaga yang banyak. untuk itu dibutuhkan alat teknologi tepat guna yang sesuai dengan keinginan Industi Rumah Tangga dan konsumen. Tindakan yang akan dilakukan adalah merancang dan membuat mesin pengiris pisang menggunakan empat mata pisau yang dipasang pada piringan dengan ukuran ketebalan yang dapat diatur. Pengirisan pisang tersebut dilakukan diatas penggorengan sehingga irisan pisang tersebut akan jatuh tepat di penggorengan. hasil kinerja mesin yang telah di buat menunjukan hasil rata-rata dari alat pengiris pisang untuk berat 1 kg yaitu memerlukan waktu 37.28 detik dan menghasilkan 421 irisan utuh, 82 irisan setengah, 45 irisan hancur dan memperoleh kapasitas efektif alat sebesar 97 kg/jam. Faktor yang mengakibatkan irisan pisang menjadi patah dan hancur dikarenakan kurangnya keahlian penguji pada saat proses pengirisan pisang yang dimana pisang tidak terdorong lurus dan irisan pisang terakhir sehingga irisan pisang menjadi patah dan hancur.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan debit air yang dibutuhkan selama proses pengupasan kulit kopi basah untuk memperoleh hasil yang maksimal,Mengetahui kapasitas alat pengupas kulit kopi basah. Penelitian dimulai pada bulan juli di lanjutkan bulan September 2022. Penelitian meliputi dua tahapan yaitu tahap modifikasi alat dan pengujian alat. Modifikasi dan pengujian alat dilakukan di bengkel las La-GUY Mopah. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen yaitu metode yang lebih menekankan aspek pengukuran yang sifatnya sistematis, terstruktur dan terencana dengan sangat jelas. Alat pengupas kopi bertujuan memisahkan kulit dan biji kopi, alat pengupas kopi memlilki dimensi 1150mm x 970mm x 350mm. alat ini bergerak dengan menggunakan dinamo dengan daya penggerak 0.5 HP dan putaran maksimum 1400 rpm, bantalan tipe UCP 205-16. Pada saat pengujin ini dilakukan dengan beberapa variasi bukaan keran agar dapat menentukan debit air dan mengetahui kapasitas alat. Pada pengujian alat dengan jenis kopi robusta dan arabika. Berdasarkan pengujian yang dilakukan maka hasil dengan menggunakan 2 jenis kopi yang berbeda dan juga beberapa variasi bukaan keran dengan debit air. Hasil yang diperoleh untuk debit air yang baik ada pada bukaan keran full dengan rata-rata1.59 liter/detik dan untuk hasil kopi yang baik ada pada bukaan keran full dengan kapasitas untuk jenis kopi Liberica Salor 273.61 kg/jam dan untuk jenis kopi Liberica Jagebob 302.45 kg/jam.

Abstract

Grain drying machines have been widely used by farmers throughout the archipelago, including in Merauke because of their practical and easy-to-use advantages. The purpose of this study was to determine the drying rate of grain drying machines. Grain drying machine is one of the solutions in dealing with post-harvest rice problems faced by farmers when the rainy season comes. Drying machines have several drawbacks, including in determining the drying rate and grain moisture content which cannot be ascertained, which affects grain quality. Based on the facts in the field so far the owners of grain drying machines do not yet have instruments for measuring moisture content and temperature in the drying machines, determining the drying rate is only based on estimates by biting or breaking. From the research results, it was found that the optimal temperature range in the drying process of the flat bed dryer type was 29 oC – 31oC, the optimal drying time was at 35 hours with the grain moisture content obtained being 14%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menghasilkan alat tanam padi manual tabela sistem legowo 2:1. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah untuk membantu petani dapat mempermudah pekerjaan, mempercepat proses tanam dan efektif dalam bercocok tanam padi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan melakukan rancang bangun dan untuk mengetahui kinerja alat tanam padi manual tabela sistem legowo 2:1 dilakukan pengujian alat. Pengujian kerja alat dilakukan di lahan sawah Kampung Urumb Distrik Semangga Kabupaten Merauke. Lahan yang digunakan untuk pengujian alat seluas 792 m². Pengujian dilakukan sebanyak 10 kali ulangan. Benih yang digunakan saat pengujian sebanyak 3 kg. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat tanam padi manual tabela sisitem legowo 2:1 dengan menggunakan penggerak tenaga manusia mempunyai spesifikasi: ukuran tinggi alat = 60 cm, lebar alat = 170 cm, samping alat = 120 cm; pipa penampung benih tinggi 25 cm, diameter 4 inch. Hasil pengujian alat tanam padi manual tabela sistem legowo 2:1 memiliki kecepatan rata-rata 0.47 m/s dengan kebutuhan benih sebanyak 37.86 kg/hektar

Abstract

The process of threshing peanut pods in Merauke Regency is generally done manually without using tools. The average area of ​​land cultivated by peanut farmers is less than ¾ hectare, while the post-harvest process of peanuts, especially during the process of threshing peanut pods, requires quite a lot of energy and time. The peanut pod thresher on the market has dimensions of 2200 mm x 70 mm x 1300 mm with a capacity of 307 kg of pods per hour. So it does not suit the needs of peanut farmers. Therefore, machines are needed that are suitable for peanut farmers in Merauke Regency. The method used is designed by changing the dimensions to 690 mm x 520 mm x 860 mm and the size of the threshing eye is smaller. The results of testing the peanut thresher tool showed that the effectiveness of shelling tests for 2 kg and 4 kg samples was 95.71% and 89.75%, respectively. The capacity of the machine using a 4 kg test sample is smaller compared to testing using a 2 kg sample, namely 129 kg/hour and 153.8 kg/hour respectively. The resulting capacity is linear with threshing effectiveness. So this modified peanut threshing machine can be an alternative for peanut farmers in Merauke because it can be used by small-scale farmers.

Abstract

The people of Kampung Tambat, Tanah Miring District, Merauke Regency rely on the flow of the Maro River as a water source for processing sago stems into sago starch and also for daily living activities. Even though the water is cloudy, it is still used by the community. This research aims to produce a filter tool based on activated carbon from coconut shell charcoal, silica sand, and gravel to improve the physical quality of Maro River water which is used by the community in processing sago starch. This research uses an experimental method by designing a filter and to determine the performance of the filter, testing equipment and analyzing the physical parameters of water in the laboratory. Research stages: (1) preparation stage, including designing filter equipment, providing tools and materials; (2) the stage of making water purification equipment and installing filter media, namely coconut shell activated carbon, silica sand, gravel, sponge, dacron; (3) filter performance testing stage; (4) test stage for raw water samples and water after filtering in the laboratory which includes parameters, temperature, total dissolve solid (TDS), turbidity, color, odor and pH. The results of laboratory tests on raw water samples show that the physical parameter values of the water meet the Environmental Health Quality Standards for Water Media for Hygiene Purposes (Permenkes No. 2 of 2023), namely temperature, TDS, taste, odor and pH. The test results of Maro River water samples after processing using filters based on activated carbon from coconut shells, silica sand and gravel show that several parameters have experienced a significant decrease even though they are not yet in accordance with the established standards. The test parameters that experienced a decrease were turbidity and color.
