Abstract

Abstract. This research is discribe about the analysis and damage handling of rolling bearings in the Cycloidal Disc transmission of Co-Extruder machine. Analysis of damage process is include all factors that cause damage to the bearings and identified by using a causal diagram. The identification results showed that the most dominant factor for damage to the bearings and eccentric bearings supporting the transmission of Cycloidal Disc of Co-Extruder machine is the lifespan of the bearings that are short. In the calculation of dynamic loading, the bearing support has a weight 21312.5 N and eccentric bearings have a load of 42.625 N with the age of 4.9 months and 15.9 months. Therefore, the investigation was done by load calculation that was to replace the pads with age calculation 20.000 work hours. From the calculation results obtained the supporting bearings and eccentric loading has age of 31.9 months and 62.4 months.Keywords. Analysis, Damage, Rolling bearing, Cycloidal Disc, Co-Extruder.

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of reverse engineering process in the manufacturing field is to reproduce or re-create an existing model. There are three stages in the research process: data acquisition, 3D modeling and design analysis. The results of the data capture acquisition form 3D products in .stl format. From this data is making 3D models, the level of deviation from the geometry created showing the quality of the results of the 3D bracket. The deviation was -0.8 mm in cross section runner. Geometry 3D design bracket and then analyzed using the finite element method software. For material testing bracket using the spectrometer, the type of material is aluminum AC4CH. The results of stress analysis testing in the bracket indicates there is high stress concentration at the center of the bracket. It demonstrates that the bracket will crack with the application of F 44.1 kN.Keywords. Reverse Engineering, Bracket Engine Mounting, 3D Model, CAE, CAM.

Abstract

Reverse engineering is a process in manufacturing, which aims to reproduce or recreate an existing model either component, sub-assembly, or product without using the data document design or picture of the existing work. Reverse engineering on the cylinder block and com.head conducted to determine the actual size and shape of the part is to create a 3D surface or solid using Geomagic software design x based stl-file of the 3D scanning using ATOS II. Critical part of this part is located in the combustion chamber and the position of head hole, so the tolerance used is ± 0.03 mm. By testing the differences between type A developer using the addition of an average dimension of 2 – 8 mm. With the addition of developer type B average dimension of 4 – 14 mm. While the difference between type A and type B by a margin dimensions of ± 0 – 11 mm, which developer A can affect the size of the work piece is better than the developer B.Keywords. Abstract

Abstract. In the manufacturing industry, the machine components are not only able to process metallic materials but also other materials such as polymers, ceramics, and composites. Although, the PVC pipe is one of the many common types of polymers. This is because, the PVC pipe has several advantages such as light weight, high corrosion resistance, easy to install, and more economic. The process of creating an application program of machine elements for the manufacture of dies on a PVC pipe, the process parameters need to be planned well. Therefore, the analysis of these calculations is made to be used as an input data in program design elements of the planning application machines for the manufacture of dies on PVC pipe. This program uses a Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) that use AutoLISP program for the imaging process and planning and also Dialogue Control Language to do the selection process, from materials selection to the calculation until the image as required to be produced. An expected program designing application machine elements for the manufacture of dies on PVC pipe can be applied to improve the previous method which is time consuming and the accuracy of the imaging process.Keywords. Abstract

Abstract. This work presents step-by-step procedure of modeling accurate interaction potential energy between hydrogen and outer surface of zigzag Single Walled Carbon Nanotube (CNT) as a function of its diameter. First principles calculations at MP2 method level and def2-SVP basis-set were performed to predict the interaction potential energy of hydrogen gas molecule on outer surface of CNT cluster model. The result shows that the physisorption energy is ranging between 1.05 kcal/mol to 1.14 kcal/mol. Using force-matching method, Lennard-Jones potential parameters were approximated for interaction between united-atom model of hydrogen molecules and the CNT. Assuming constant σ = 3.2 Å, the result shows that the ε parameter can be defined as a function of CNT diameter.Keywords. Abstract

Abstract. This research is to determine the quality of the railway. As the object of research in this occasion was the train tracks acquired from the workshop of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia. As for the quality evaluation performed include hardness testing, testing of composition, tensile test and microstructure observation. After the base material subjected to the preliminary work, such as the manufacture of test specimens, prepared and then the specimens tested with testing tools for testing the hardness, chemical composition testing, tensile testing and testing microstructure. From the test results obtained with the price average hardness of the railroad is 281.7 HVN. The price of the average composition of the railroads alone amounted to 588.4%, while the average tensile strength of the railroad tracks of 0.04 N/mm², micro structure photograph taken with magnification 100x and 200x. From the test results note that the railroads have high ductility and toughness.Keywords. Physical, Mechanical, Railways, Microstructure
