Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of soybean farming in Landawe District, North Konawe Regency. The study was conducted in December 2019. The population in the study were all soybean farmers, amounting to 49 people. Determination of the sample using the census method. Types and sources of data in the study include primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques used in research are direct interviews with respondents and literature studies. Variables in the study include revenue, tradable inputs, non-tradable inputs, production, private prices, and social prices. Analysis of the data used is the Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). The results showed that soybean farming in Landawe Subdistrict, North Konawe District has competitive competitiveness, which is the value of the ratio of private costs (Private Cost Ratio) of 0.30 smaller than one, which means that to produce a product requires a smaller additional cost. However, it does not have comparative competitiveness because the value of the ratio of domestic resource cost ratio is greater than one, namely 5.07 which means inefficient farming

This research intends to investigate the costs and income of soybean farming in Central Lombok District and investigate the elements that affect the production of soybean farming in the Central Lombok District. The data gained in this research are primary data with 30 respondents as farmers. Data were analyzed with the Cobb-Douglas production function transformed into the regression function. The results revealed that the average total cost spent by farmers was Rp. 3.694.927/Ha and an average total receipt of Rp. 7.008.000/Ha, so that the average total income earned by farmers is Rp. 3.313.073/Ha. Based on the analysis of influence (statistical T-Test), the variable land area, urea fertilizer, and liquid pesticide have had an influence on soybean farm production. Based on F-Test Statistics, together all the independent variables have had an influence on the production of soybean farming in Central Lombok.

Abstract

Goat farming system has long been carried out by farmers in Indonesia, is the essential farm for smallholder farmers, especially in rural areas as the cash money for income generation. However, farmers have been facing reproductive inefficiency and low meat productivity. Therefore, Artificial Insemination technology has been implemented for genetic improvement of goats in order to increase the sale value of livestock, increasing livestock productivity, and to accelerate genetic gain in local goat. This study was conducted to find the performance of the implementation of AI technology using Boer frozen semen. This study was carried out in Bina Marwa Village and Mata Up Village Andoolo Sub District, South Konawe District of Southeast Sulawesi Province in 2018. Study findings show that the farmer assessment of implementing AI technological innovation based on these innovations in terms of profits, compatibility, easily implementing, triability, and observability indicated a good percentage (59.87%), quite good (11.87%) and not good (28.26%). In addition, this technology has been deployed across the village and rapidly adopted among the farmers due to the low-cost of introducing AI technology, and the better physical appearance of genetic improvement (100%), respectively. Another driving factor was favorable AI technology (80%) and that is easily applied (60%).

Abstract

The dependence of farmers on the use of high external inputs causes farmers to be independent and ignore environmental aspects. The lack of independence of farmers makes farmers powerless in utilizing local resources. The application of LEISA enables farmers to minimize the use of external inputs and be able to utilize local resources. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of empowerment of farmers, determine the factors that influence and formulate appropriate strategies to increase empowerment. Data collection was conducted from March to July 2020. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The conclusion of the study shows that the strategy of increasing empowerment can be done by expanding land, increasing farmer institutional support, increasing the availability of information sources.
