Abstract

The word "dog" in Mark 7:24-30 is characterized by colonizing, dictators, and feudal who want to separate a person on a social, religious, and racial basis. The postcolonial study is the right approach to uncover the complicated of Jesus ' experience with the Syro-Phoenician woman, remembering that the Gospel of Mark was written during the turbulent time of colonial politics, circa 70 CE. The text and context of Mark become integral to the colonization process. The authority of Jesus symbolically as ruler acted superior over the Syro-Phoenician woman, weak and unclean. The authoritative rule over the weak produces stereotypical prejudices and presumptions. At first, they view each other from different places, from their perspective cultural perception rooms, searching for the exact meeting point and establishing bilateral agreements. In the end, they recognize one another, which resulted in repentance.

Abstract

Indonesia has a diversity of cultures, and each culture has its characteristics and these cultures cannot be eliminated. Simultaneously the Tengger Tribe has the privilege of entas culture, where this culture is a ritual that is held to commemorate the death and to ask the Supreme Court so that the spirits who have died get a good place. Based on these cultural features, Christianity must have a mission to communicate Christ to the Tengger Tribe. The mission can be carried out using apologetic dialogue. The apologetic dialogue is based on the conversational theory of evangelism from Geisler. The apologetic dialogue also refers to the God and Culture theory of Richard Neighbor. The apologetic dialogues are arranged in an imaginary dialogue that can be developed and practised by every believer. The purpose of this paper is, first, to know the biblical apologetic dialogue model. Second, knowing the context of entas- ter in the Tengger society. Third, obtain an imaginary Dialogue Model for communicating Christ to the Tengger community. Based on this research, the method used by the author is literature study and Bible study. The apologetic dialogue produced is expected to be a pre-evangelism for the Tengger society.

The Easter Parade is a routine church activity that demonstrates the story of misery, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. The aim is to awaken the congregation's memories of salvation committed by Jesus Christ. Specifically, it aims to impart the spirituality of the congregation. Through the parade, the congregation, especially church youths, are expected to have a religious orientation, seek God's wisdom, interact with others lovingly and believe in divine power and strength in their lives. This study aims to show the effect of the Easter march on youth spirituality in the Evangelical Christian Church in Timor, the Eisleben Fatu Manu Oinlasi Church, in 2019. The study was conducted with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study amounted to 40 youth. Research data were obtained using a questionnaire. Abstract

The purpose is to describe the role of the media in supporting missions in the fourth industrial revolution. The cause of several studies found there are still some digital media users who are not wise in social media. One example is the outbreak of hate speech that played a more significant role in racial crime in 2019. Also, few social media and online communication users use their accounts to slander, bully, and spread fake news. For this reason, users must choose wisely in using their social media accounts. The method used is qualitative by collecting several references from library studies to produce several explanations that are discussed systematically. The results of this study indicate that the church needs to open up in terms of media development because this will be one of the most effective investments in protecting lives in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Some strategies to communicate the gospel message that can intensify media services include live streaming sermons, recording sermon videos, and updating status through Facebook and Instagram. The conclusion is that media services are beneficial to reach every community but is challenging to achieve. But most of all, media service can aim to speed up the second coming of Jesus Christ. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14 - NKJV).

Abstract

Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this article shows that according to Moltmann, the church concept of fellowship or Koinonia is too often based on uniformity. Against the Koinonia model, Moltmann raised the biblical concept of the importance of strangers, travellers, outcasts, and sinners. According to Moltmann, the church cannot be a boat of sameness in navigating the ocean of diversity. Therefore, Moltmann offers the concept of a trinitarian partnership based on friendship. For Moltmann, the good news about Koinonia from the Triune God is not marked by friendship in uniformity but by a bond that unites, respects, and embraces differences. True Koinonia means more than just accepting and embracing tension and conflict. True Koinonia is about accepting and embracing each other (and God). The ultimate sign of true Koinonia is friendship. Moltmann emphasized the church's call to be an open fellowship of friendship by promoting freedom, equality, and love. Moltmann, at the same time, put forward a criticism of the church structure, which - in Moltmann's terms - was built on the principle of monotheistic hierarchy, which was loaded with oppression.

Abstract

Case COVID-19 (coronavirus) has become a global pandemic in Indonesia. To break the virus's spread, the government and church leaders carry out a social distancing process by encouraging church members to worship in their homes. This suggestion raises the pros and cons of the congregation. Most of the congregations have a dilemma about it. It is unusual worship, for they always do worship in church. Therefore, they need a theological answer as to whether worshipping at home is acceptable. This research aims to answer that dilemma by exploring the concept of worship in the Bible. The method used is hermeneutic with a textual and historical critique approach. As a result, worship at home does not reduce the essence of worship itself because the meaning of true worship is human life itself before God (Rom 12: 1-2). It should answer the pros and cons among congregation members about worship at home during the coronavirus pandemic

Abstract

This paper discusses relating to dialogue between Christianity and the Kembang Kuningan Rite. This rite is in the Polobogo Village area, Getasan District, Semarang Regency. Every month of the Jumadil Akhir in some “punden” (sacred tombs), a ritual is performed as part of the ceremony for the rite. The essence of the series of rituals carried out is to pray for ancestors and ask for blessings and safety for the community. Be unique when this ritual is performed by church members, who incidentally have a Christian identity, but also have an identity as a local community, using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis method and the analysis of synthesis models. It was found that the theology of honor became a meeting point to dialogue Christian identity with the Kembang Kuningan rite
