Abstract

This study aims to analyze and reveal the symbolic meaning of “the number those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel” in Revelation 7:1-17 and implications for the mission. The research method used is qualitative research carried out with the principles and hermeneutic methods of the Bible. The Bible’s hermeneutic method is divided into two characteristics, namely general hermeneutics and specific ones. For the general hermeneutic interpretation method, the author uses three existing analyses structural analysis, grammatical analysis and theological analysis. Then for the particular hermeneutic interpretation method, the author uses the interpretation of number symbols. The results of this study reveal that the symbolic meaning of “the number those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel” in Revelation 7:1-17 are symbolic numbers of the number redeemed by the Lamb who made it through the tribulation period by remaining faithful to the end of being followers of Christ. As for the theological implications of the text of Revelation 7:1-17 for the mission, namely, God Protects His People (7:1-3), God is Consistent with His Promise of Salvation (7:4-8), and God Grants Universal Salvation (7:9-17). As for the practical implications of the text of Revelation 7: 1-17 for the mission, namely Believers are sealed as servants of God (7:1-8), Believers glorify God (7:9-12), and Believers receive sanctification and God's providence (7:13- 17).

Abstract

The purpose is to describe the role of the media in supporting missions in the fourth industrial revolution. The cause of several studies found there are still some digital media users who are not wise in social media. One example is the outbreak of hate speech that played a more significant role in racial crime in 2019. Also, few social media and online communication users use their accounts to slander, bully, and spread fake news. For this reason, users must choose wisely in using their social media accounts. The method used is qualitative by collecting several references from library studies to produce several explanations that are discussed systematically. The results of this study indicate that the church needs to open up in terms of media development because this will be one of the most effective investments in protecting lives in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Some strategies to communicate the gospel message that can intensify media services include live streaming sermons, recording sermon videos, and updating status through Facebook and Instagram. The conclusion is that media services are beneficial to reach every community but is challenging to achieve. But most of all, media service can aim to speed up the second coming of Jesus Christ. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14 - NKJV).

Abstract

Dalam tulisan ini, peneliti melakukan analisis biblika dari teks Ulangan 19:1-13. Teks ini kelihatannya tidak mudah dimaknai ke dalam situasi di zaman modern. Maka dari itu, dengan melakukan tafsiran terhadap teks tersebut, menolong pembaca untuk melihat makna teologis yang relevan atau masih bisa diterapkan ke dalam kehidupan masa kini. Teks Ulangan 19 berbicara tentang kota-kota perlindungan yang tampaknya masih ada kemiripan kasus dengan hukum pidana di Indonesia seperti contohnya tahanan kota dan rumah tahanan negara. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif analisis teks Ulangan 19:1-13. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini terlihat bahwa Allah adalah Allah yang Maha Berdaulat, Allah yang Maha Pemurah dan Allah yang Maha Adil. Untuk itu orang percaya dituntut untuk setia melakukan perintah Allah, percaya bahwa Yesuslah pelunas hutang darah yang sejati dan orang percaya juga perlu hidup dalam kekudusan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to show that God as a person desires a close relationship with His created people. The writing method in this study uses a qualitative approach. Then the writing technique used in this research is literature study so that it can show the desire of God's heart for intimacy with Him. The results of this study show that in Christianity, God gives and provides access for Himself through Jesus Christ – so that everyone can believe freely in His coming. God wants His people to enjoy Himself and God is looking for people who want to have a close relationship with Him through the life of Jesus in them. AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bahwa Allah sebagai pribadi menginginkan sebuah hubungan yang akrab dengan umat ciptaan-Nya. Adapun metode penulisan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Kemudian teknik penulisan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kepustakaan sehingga dapat menunjukkan inti dari keinginan hati Allah untuk sebuah keakraban bersama-Nya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam kekristenan, Allah memberikan dan menyediakan akses bagi diri-Nya melalui Yesus Kristus – sehingga setiap orang percaya bisa dengan bebas datang kepada-Nya. Allah ingin umat-Nya dapat menikmati diri-Nya dan Allah mencari orang-orang yang ingin memiliki hubungan akrab dengan-Nya melalui kehidupan Yesus yang ada di dalam mereka.

Abstract

AbstrakDi abad ke-21 ini, kemajuan teknologi mengalami perubahan dengan sangat cepat. Hal tersebut memengaruhi berbagai bidang kehidupan termasuk juga sistem pendidikan. Untuk itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengemukakan media pembelajaran dan kurikulum pendidikan jemaat untuk menghadapi perubahan globalisasi abad ke-21. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur dengan melihat fakta, pandangan dan berbagai sumber tentang media pembelajaran dan kurikulum pendidikan jemaat untuk menghadapi perubahan globalisasi abad ke-21 ini. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu gereja berinovasi dalam pendidikan dengan memanfaatkan perkembangan zaman. Beberapa hal yang dapat dilakukan oleh gereja adalah menggunakan media pembelajaran online melalui ibadah live streaming dan pembelajaran online lainnya seperti WhatsApp, e-Learning, Google Classroom, Youtube maupun Zoom Meeting serta beberapa aplikasi sejenisnya seperti Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Jitsi Meet dan lainnya. Kekuatan media pembelajaran ini dapat menciptakan inovasi pendidikan dalam gereja yang lebih kreatif, sistematis, terukur dan menyenangkan. Setelah itu, gereja perlu menyiapkan kurikulum pendidikan jemaat yang terdiri dari materi Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang berpusat pada Alkitab dan materi Pendidikan Umum yang tetap dapat dikaitkan dengan kehidupan rohani seperti materi tentang kesehatan, etika berpakaian, public speaking, seks dalam pernikahan, keuangan dan lain sebagainya. Dengan demikian, gereja akan menikmati hasil yang baik dalam penguatan iman jemaat dan lebih bijak dalam menghadapi segala dampak negatif dari pengaruh perubahan globalisasi abad ke-21.Kata-kata Kunci: Abad 21, Gereja, Kurikulum, Media Pembelajaran, Pendidikan.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to explain the close relationship between mission and spiritual awakening. The method used is qualitative description with library studies seen from the history of spiritual awakening that has happened and Christian mission's understanding of spiritual awakening. In conclusion, spiritual awakening can revive the passion for mission, and mission is one of the concrete steps manifested by missionaries in the event of a spiritual resurrection. For this reason, the signs that arise when spiritual awakening occurs are the heart of the mission involved. The relationship between mission and spiritual awakening is a spiritual awakening to evoke the spirit of mission. This is marked by so many missionaries who are involved in missionary service. Tujuan penulisan ini untuk menjelaskan hubungan yang erat antara misi dan kebangkitan rohani. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskripsi dengan studi kepustakaan dilihat dari sejarah kebangkitan rohani yang pernah terjadi dan pemahaman misi Kristen terhadap kebangkitan rohani. Sebagai kesimpulannya adalah kebangkitan rohani dapat menghidupkan kembali gairah untuk bermisi, dan misi adalah salah satu langkah yang kongkret yang diwujudnyatakan oleh para misionaris ketikaterjadinya kebangkitan rohani. Untuk itu, tanda-tanda yang muncul saat kebangkitan rohani terjadi adalah hati misi ikut di dalamnya. Hubungan antara misi dan kebangkitan rohani ialah kebangkitan rohani membangkitkan semangat bermisi. Hal ini ditandai dengan begitu banyaknya misionaris yang terjun dalam pelayanan misi.

Abstract

In the current reality of the development of faith and the church, there are challenges in the form of unhealthy teachings that can hinder the growth of true religion. That is why this research aims to analyze and reveal the concept of God's servants based on Titus 1:5-2:10. Then, show and describe the steps to become a servant of God who contributes to the development of the church and society through sound teachings based on Titus 1:5-2:10. The results of this research are that four factors challenge the church in dealing with heresy. However, this challenge is paradoxical because, on the other hand, within this challenge, there are opportunities for the church, especially for community development. The four factors include, First, Religious Pluralism and Moral Relativism. It is essential to properly understand the moral values taught by the religious scriptures so that they can be the primary key to opening the way for evangelization missions. Second, the influence of media and technology. The presence of social media will become an increasingly important service object for maintaining connections among its people—third, Heretical Teachings. The church needs to act firmly to fight the practices of heretics who try to distort the truth to suit their wishes. Fourth, Materialism and Worldly Pleasures. No human wealth can buy life or health. Therefore, this "empty space" can provide an opportunity for God's servants, who are equipped with sound doctrine, to bring people to the needs of eternity rather than mortal.
