Al Munir Journal of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting is open access and peer review of journals published by the Communication and Islamic Broadcasting Study Program of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, Imam Bonjol Padang State Islamic University (UIN). This journal covers actual issues in Islamic communication studies, including the development of contemporary da'wah by utilizing media, Islamic information systems, rhetoric, literature, and government policies regarding broadcasting and information regulation. The purpose of this journal is to promote sharing of knowledge and understanding of communication issues. Then receive contributions from experts, researchers, practitioners and policy makers throughout the world. This journal is published periodically twice a year, precisely in January - June and July - December.

Abstract

Punk community, are moslty regarded as the refuse of society. But actually, they are the same as other kids who want to find freedom. In typical fashion, the symbols, and the way of life drawn from other cultural groups are more established, an effort to establish identity based on the symbols attached to their appearance. Focus problem in this paper is how a symbolic meaning to the appearance of punk community, with the restriction problem: 1) symbolic meaning in the physical appearance of punk kids, 2) the symbolic meaning of punk music performances

Abstract

Da'wah is not only a religious activity mosque or place of worship, preaching today comes and touches the various facets of life and are found in a variety of events. The development is characterized by the propaganda of the vast territory into and media used, and uses an approach that leads to the audience or mad'unya criteria. This study aims to gain propaganda communication models used preachers, using qualitative. Propaganda communication model applied preacher in preaching consists of dialogue models, models monologue, narrative models, models and models muhasabah demonstration or pilot. The model used preachers nothing is single, but is a combination of models suitable communications are considered suitable to the situation of pilgrims.

Abstract

Cell phones have become one of the requirements for the wider community. Today all people in the world can be connected by a modern communication tool that is supported by the development of sophisticated media and modern communication. One of the media such as the mobile phone is now better known as "smart phones". The rise of smart phone usage among teens sparked a wide range of issues related to individual behavior and social behavior of adolescents themselves. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive type. The technique of collecting data was taken with a total sampling was 28 people. The data collection techniques used was observation, interviews and focus group discussion. Data were analyzed through several stages: among other subjects through testing credibility, authenticity, triangulation analysis, and intersubjectivity analysis. From the research that has been conducted showed that the use of smart phones in adolescents can meet their needs. Fulfillment of requirements obtained from the use of smart phones in the range of cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integrative needs and requirements as well as the social integrative needs to release tension. Fulfillment of various needs in the above cause a variety of effects, both positive and negative.

Abstract

Research is motivated by the development of increasingly mass media. These developments shifted the aim of the media to convey information, educate, entertain and social control. The mass media is also used to launch propaganda with certain techniques in influencing the attitudes and behavior of a particular person or group - in this case the candidate for mayor of Padang. The use of mass media for propaganda occurred in the Padang Ekspress Daily. Qualitative research methods with content Analysis models, focus on physical units, syntactic units, referential units, propositional units and thematic propaganda units techniques on the preaching of candidates for mayor of Padang ahead of the 2018 post-conflict local election in Padang Ekspress daily. The research was conducted in June 2018, the sampling technique was simple random sampling. The researcher found the propaganda techniques used were glittering generalities, bandwidth, transfers, testimonials and card stacking. Preaching pair number 1 uses four propaganda techniques; glittering generalities, tranfers, testimonials, and card stacking. The Mahyeldi-Desri pair uses the five propaganda techniques. Glittering generalities are the most commonly used techniques, card stacking and testimonials are the least used. All analysis units can measure the use of propagation techniques. The various units of physical reporting. The syntactic unit looking at "Mahyeldi", "Emzalmi", "Desri" and "Qur'an" is the most frequently occurring word. Referential units, propositional units and thematic units of news predominantly present equivalent words, propositions and themes about Islam and / or religiosity

Abstract

Berbagai problem dakwah selalu mengitari dalam usaha mengkomunikasikan Islam, salah satu problem tersebut adalah penguasaan media dakwah dalam arti Teknologi Informasi oleh subjek dakwah. Mengingat negara-negara Islam dan berkembang terdomestifikasi dari aspek komunikasi dan informasi melalui media oleh negara barat. Dari unsur sumber dan nilai berita sebenarnya Islam mempunyai kelebihan dari paradigma negara maju diantaranya adalah prinsip sumber berita yang valid, atau akurasi serta berita yang bernilai Qur’ani (bi tsabiti al-Qur’anu al-Karim) dan didukung metode kejelian memberikan informasi yang benar atau adanya investegative reforting; fatabayanu (kadzran mutiqadhan min al-ahbar). Namun masih menyisakan beberapa kendala diantaranya sumber daya atau kualitas para wartawan, para praktisi penyampai pesan Islam, dan pengelola media masa Islam.

Abstract

Public relation is a broad field that involves relationships with various stakeholders, especially the relationship between organization and its publics. The roles of public relation in technology information era are significant to establish reciprocal relationship and planned communication between organization and its public. Public relation is a function of strategic management that communicates to engender understanding dan acceptance of its external and internal public. Public relation activities will be determining the repositioning of organization, restoring image and reputation to build new credibility. Public relations capability in issues and public opinion management are required by organization to overcome the crisis that might occur in the organization. Public relation plays role in explanation or defense on unfavorable view of the organization from its public by providing data, facts and information.

Concepts related to other mass media is gatekeeping. Kurt Lewin states a theory about group dynamics and the concept of gatekeeper.

Abstract

Communication is a process (that is one of the characteristics of the communication), because the communication is dynamic, always in progress and change often. A process consists of several sequences that can be distinguished but not separated. Intercultural communication is as same as other communication process that is a process that is dynamic and interactive and transactional. Interactive intercultural communication is communication made by participants in the two-way communication / reciprocity (two way communication) but was still at a low stage. Communication climate is constructed as a situation, atmosphere conditions involving the mind or spiritual situation or participants’ communication feeling. Several key communication climates can be shown by the characteristic where there is no more pressure on the power of communication participants, the principles of openness to all; the atmosphere is capable of providing communication participants to be able to differentiate between personal interests and the interests of the group.

Abstract

The word theology comes from the English term, namely theology. In language means the science of divinity. The term used in the English, initially also taken from the Greek word, which is from the root word theos meaning God, and logos meaning science. In the science study of Kalam, the term theology is also known as another name of theology itself. The difference, the term theology is a term commonly used by Western literature, especially English, to mention theology in Islam, while the term theology is a term commonly used by literature- literature East (Arabic). If so, theology in the context of Islam can be understood as a discipline that talks about the problems of divinity or theology is nothing other than itself.
