The suggested method here is adjusted with the four types of imlā, namely: Imlā Manqūl, Imla Manżūr, Imla Masmū’ and Imla Ikhtibāri. Besides it is provided with applicative examples in the teaching of imlā based on certain stages that should be taken by a teacher. Thus the teaching can be carried out pleasantly and satisfy all students needs in the lesson. This study uses the method of al-waşfi al-taḩlīli, a method that describes the problems that occur, by analyzing the causes and trying to find solutions to these problems. This research shows that the method of al-Nuşush al-Mutakāmilah is more effective and suitable for teaching imlā for non-Arab students, because it contains many positive things for teaching branches of Arabic.

Nahwu becomes the most debated discourse in the Arabic language teaching. There are so many problems appear both in the case of the learning material and the learning methods. This article describes those problems by elaborating the causes of learning difficulties in Nahwu. One of the problems comes from the existence of excessive ‘amil and ‘illat. It reveals a judgment that Nahwu has been combined with philosophy. Consequently, there are some learners who judge that learning Arabic is difficult. Therefore, this article also presents the easy ways in learning Nahwu, both given by classic ulama and modern linguists. One of the efforts done by classic ulama is by reviewing the theory of ‘amil, while the modern linguists try to expand the concept of Nahwu so that it is not limited to i’rab only.

Abstract

When Islam spread to the Arabian Peninsula, the Arabs were also scattered, communicating with non-Arabs and mixing with each other. As a result, a new generation emerged that could not preserve the authenticity of its language. Therefore, the Arabs became distorted from the authenticity of their language. The emergence of many of these irregularities led to the need to preserve the originality of the Arabic language, and Abu al-Aswad al-Duwali was the first who establish Arabic grammar on the orders of Caliph Ali ibn Abi Talib. After Abu al-Aswad al-Duwali, emerging famous grammars were divided into madrasa of Bashra and Kufa, each madrasa had characteristics and differences. The differences between these two madrasas is enormous and in many cases. The prominent difference is that the madrasa of Bashra is more stringent in Arabic grammar, while the madrasa of Kufa is looser.
