Internet-of-Things (IoT)-based monitoring and control systems have been widely used in daily life, for example, in smart cities, smart homes (or home automation), and intelligent transportation applications. One example of the application of IoT in smart cities and smart homes is the air quality monitoring system. Monitoring air quality, both indoors and outdoors, is essential for health. This study aims to design and implement an IoT-based air quality monitoring system. The hardware in this system uses the Wemos D1 Mini board, the MQ-9 gas sensor to measure carbon monoxide (CO) gas levels, and the MQ-135 gas sensor to measure carbon dioxide (CO2) gas levels. An Android-based application is also implemented to access and display the results of air quality measurements by the system stored in the cloud database (Firebase). System testing is carried out using smoke from burning paper at varying distances from the sensors. The system test results show that the implemented system can measure CO gas levels in the room from 7 ppm to 38 ppm. The measurement results for CO2 gas levels in the room are between 200 ppm to 1000 ppm.

The population of active students in the Informatics Bachelor Program, Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta, in the odd semester of 2021 is 3,870. Efforts to track interest in the three concentration options were carried out early on through article literacy recommendations. Various articles are produced continuously and provided on an ongoing basis to students. However, the many articles offered daily make students overwhelmed and tend to choose articles that do not match what they want. To help solve this problem, recommender system is developed. A recommender system helps to estimate the prediction value or relevancy of an article and create a ranking according to user's taste. Content-based Filtering technique is used in this research. Using the dataset from Kabar Informatika news portal of University of Amikom Yogyakarta, the developed Content-based Filtering Recommendation System is able to produce Recall@5 score at around 73% and Recall@10 at around 80%.

KIP Kuliah is one of the government's education equity programs. The KIP Kuliah program is intended for students who graduate from high school or its equivalent, but not all students can benefit from the KIP Kuliah program. Students who are entitled to benefit from the KIP Kuliah program are those who have academic potential but whose economic circumstances do not allow them to continue their education at tertiary institutions. The process of selecting scholarship recipients is a new problem for tertiary institutions, where quotas and the number of applicants are sometimes unbalanced, so a rigorous selection process is needed based on an assessment of the economic condition of the family and the achievements of the scholarship recipient candidates. Therefore, a Decision Support System (DSS) is needed to overcome this problem using the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPASS) and rank order centroid (ROC) methods to find the best alternative scholarship recipients. The results obtained from this study are the recipients of the best alternative scholarship A6, with the highest score of 0.57, followed by other alternatives based on the ranking results in this DSS calculation.

Melon plants are plants that are susceptible to disease, both diseases caused by viruses and those caused by bacteria. One part of the plant that can be affected by the disease is the leaves. Leaves on diseased plants generally change color which will then affect other leaves and inhibit the development and growth of these plants. This study aims to classify melon plant diseases from melon leaf images. The data used in this study are 160 images of melon leaves which will be grouped into several groups from the healthy group to the unhealthy group. The method used is the Clustering method, namely: K-Means algorithm and Fuzzy C-Means algorithm. Clustering results using K-Means and Fuzzy C-Means can be compared to get the best clustering results. The comparison results show the Fuzzy C-Means Clustering method with a validation value of 0.8359 and the K-Means Clustering method with a validation value of 0.5793. The final result shows that the Fuzzy C-Means Clustering method is better than the K-Means Clustering method because the validation value is close to 1.

The development of transportation technology continues to progress with various models and forms of vehicles that have been produced both on a small scale and on a large scale. The large use of transportation equipment can cause congestion in operating it, one way to reduce this congestion is to use a vehicle-to-vehicle communication system in conditions where there are no obstacles and there are obstacles based on the parameters used through Bit Error Rate and Throuhgput. Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is a discipline branch of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) which has the advantage of being able to adapt points to vehicles, markings, signs and buildings. Information exchange on VANET technology communication consists of vehicle to vehicle (V2V) and vehicle to infrastructure (V2I). This study discusses the comparison of VANET networks when there are no obstacles (LOS) and obstacles (NLOS) conditions using Quarature Amplitude Modulation 16 bits per symbol (16-QAM). The use of the single relay method in this study consists of a simulation stage with the MATLAB application and an analysis of the simulation results obtained after carrying out the simulation. The results of this study are a comparison method between vehicles in the single relay network model where the value of the Bit Error Rate without obstacles is BER to distance ratio 〖4.54 x 10〗^(-5), BER to SNR 〖3.00 x 10〗^(-3), BER to speed 〖5.39 x 10〗^(-5). Whereas for Throughput when there are no obstacles, the value of Throughput to distance ratio is 23.750 Mbps, Throughput to SNR is 23.927 Mbps. Throughput to speed of 23.849 Mbps.. Then for comparison when there are obstacles, the value for Bit Error Rate is BER to distance ratio 〖7.17 x 10〗^(-5), BER to SNR 〖3.28 x 10〗^(-3), BER to speed 〖9.56 x 10〗^(-5) and the Throughput value when there are obstacles is the Throughput to distance ratio of 23.486 Mbps. Throughput of SNR 23.920 Mbps, Throughput of speed 23.633 Mbps

The application of information systems is handy for business needs as well as the needs of human activity. One form of an information system is an expert system, which is used to transfer human thinking abilities to computers, capable of solving problems like how experts think. The problem that often occurs with mechanics or excavator operators is the limited number of experts to provide consultations to mechanics who need solutions to damage that occurs to machine parts. This study uses the forward chaining method to describe the identification, diagnosis, and explanations of excavator engine damage. The knowledge representation used is IF-THEN rules and combining rules that can produce a conclusion. Forward Chaining has a fact-based search technique which is then matched to find directions. The forward chaining method in several studies is able to produce good accuracy values. In making this system, it is hoped that experts in the field of heavy equipment engines and several manuals about excavator machines will get accurate data about machine damage information. Applying the forward chaining method to this expert system can produce an accuracy rate of 90% through 10 tests

Snapper is one of the favorite fish for consumption because it has a myriad of benefits for the human body. There are many types of snapper, especially snapper which is often found in Indonesian waters. Knowing the types of snapper is important knowledge because snapper has different characteristics, for example there are snapper that can be consumed and there are also types of snapper that can be cultivated. However, the lack of information and similar types of snapper makes it difficult for people to identify the type of snapper. This study aims to implement a Self-Organizing Map (SOM) artificial neural network for classification of snapper species based on color and texture characteristics. In order to provide information about the snapper object to be classified, color and texture feature extraction is used. In color feature extraction, RGB and HSV parameters are used and for texture features, the Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) approach is applied. Furthermore, the characteristic results obtained will be classified using the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) algorithm which divides the input patterns into certain classes so that the network output is in the form of classes that have similarities to the given input. Based on the results of the accuracy test, the built model is capable of producing an accuracy of 89.89%. Thus, the SOM model built for image classification of snapper species is in the good category.
