Abstract

This paper describes a dissipative controller design for networked control systems modeled by the Markovian jump system. Dissipativity refers to the existence of a supply rate dealing with the system such that the closed-loop system has a dissipative property. The main result of this paper is a solvability condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities for achieving dissipativity of a dynamic output feedback problem in networked control systems via the Markovian jump system approach. A numerical example is given to show the efficacy of the proposed design.

Abstract

Abstract

In LTE Network, users can move freely in the network through fast and seamless handover (HO). This research focuses on intra-LTE handover which occurs using interface X2 to move an EU between two eNBs, i.e. source eNB and target eNB without any changes in MME and SGW at EPC level. Two popular algorithms of intra-LTE handover namely A2-A4-RSRQ and A3-RSRP were evaluated and compared through simulations as well as direct measurements in the field. Simulation is conducted using NS3 simulation tool where performances of various scenarios from both algorithms were evaluated. The performance metrics studied include the average number of HOs that occur, throughput and optimized ratio. Simulations carried out for various scenarios in term of EU numbers, user speeds, and channel conditions. In addition, the results of one-month measurement of three eNBs were also presented. The measurement results are then compared and used to verify the simulation results. Furthermore, by using the optimizing ratio metric, the optimal pair of parameter values of Threshold as well as Offset and Handover Margin (HOM) along with Time-to-Trigger (TTT) are sought for the A2-A4-RSRQ and A3-RSRP respectively.

Abstract

In building software, it should start with project planning. This activity is initialized with estimation activity. When estimation is done, it is necessary to make predictions in the future and handle the uncertainty that will be passed in running a software project. There are several options in project estimation. However, in this study, we used the most common and familiar technique to be tested on project data that had been running in the field. From the results of experiments conducted in the study on 20 (twenty) data software development projects in one of the software houses in Jambi city using the Function Point Analysis (FPA) method, the results of the calculation of the RMSE (root mean squared error) of Rp 1,073,001, - and an error value of 0.25. This means that it can be concluded that the difference in RMSE from the real price comparison transacted in the field with the price estimated using the Function Point Analysis (FPA) method is equal to the value mentioned above, which value includes a value with a fairly small gap. As well, the error value produced is also quite small at 0.25.

Abstract

Router Assisted Congestion Control (RACC) was designed to improve endto- end congestion control performance by using prior knowledge on network condition. However, the traditional Internet does not provide such information, which makes this approach is not feasible to deliver. Our paper addresses this network information deficiency issue by proposing a new congestion control method that works on the Software Defined Network (SDN) framework. We call this proposed method as PACEC (Path Associativity Centralized Congestion Control). In SDN, global view of the network information contains the network topology including link properties (i.e., type, capacity, power consumption, etc.). PACEC uses this information to determine the feedback signal, in order for the source to start sending data at a high rate and to quickly reach fair-share rate. The simulation shows that the efficiency and fairness of PACEC are better than Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Rate Control Protocol (RCP).

Abstract

Routing protocol and congestion control in Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) have important roles in wireless mobile network performance. In wireless communication, the stability of the path and successful data transmission will be influenced by the channel condition. This channel condition constraints come from path loss and the multipath channel fading. With these constraints, the algorithm in the routing protocol and congestion control is confronted with the uncertainty of connection quality and probability of successful packet transmission, respectively. It is important to investigate the reliability and robustness of routing protocol and congestion control algorithms in dealing with such situation.  In this paper, we develop a detailed approach and analytical throughput performance with a cross layer scheme (CLS) between routing and congestion control mechanism based on signal to noise ratio (SNR) in Rician and Rayleigh as multipath fading channel. We proposed joint routing and congestion control TCP with a cross layer scheme model based on SNR (RTCP-SNR). We compare the performance of RTCP-SNR with conventional routing-TCP and routing-TCP that used CLS with routing aware (RTCP-RA) model. The analyses and the simulation results showed that RTCP-SNR in a multipath channel outperforms conventional routing-TCP and RTCP-RA.

Abstract

One of Machine Type Communication (MTC) applications is Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). WSN is an intelligent network application system to collect, integrate, and transmit data autonomously. Sensor nodes in WSN, communicate over short distance via a wireless medium and collaborate to accomplish a common task, such as enviroment monitoring, military surveillance and industrial process control. The constraining aspect of WSN usage is the limited power of each sensor node, so energy efficiency becomes an important issue in WSN. Routing is a function in WSN, which consumes a substantial amount of energy. One of the routing protocols that can increase the energy efficiency of WSN is Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH). In this paper, High Altitude Platform (HAP) is used to replace Base Station (BS) as sink node in WSN. HAP is designed at altitudes of 17, 20 and 22 km. Then WSN over HAP using the LEACH routing protocol evaluated its performance. Performance indicators that we evaluated are engergy consumption, number of dead nodes and total average packets which is sent to HAP. From a series of simulations conducted, the results obtained that the higher the laying of HAP, then the coverage area will be greater. So that the energy consumption will be smaller, the number of dead node less and the avarage of total packet delivered to the HAP will be greater.

Abstract

We study the compressive sampling (CS) and its application in video encoding framework. The video input is firstly transformed into suitable domain in order to achieve sparser configuration of coefficients. Then, we apply coefficient thresholding to classify which frames to be sampled compressively or conventionally. For frames chosen to undergo compressive sampling, the coefficient vectors will be projected into smaller vectors using random measurement matrix. As CS requires two main conditions, i.e. sparsity and matrix incoherence, this research is emphasized on the enhancement of sparsity property of the input signal. It was empirically proven that the sparsity enhancement could be reached by applying motion compensation and thresholding to the non-significant coefficient count. At the decoder side, the reconstruction algorithm can employ basis pursuit or L1 minimization algorithm.

Abstract

The collaborative intrusion detection network (CIDN) framework provides collaboration capability among intrusion detection systems (IDS). Collaboration selection is done by an acquaintance management algorithm. A recent study developed an effective acquaintance management algorithm by the use of binary risk analysis and greedy-selection-sort based methods. However, most algorithms do not pay attention to the possibility of wrong responses in multi-botnet attacks. The greedy-based acquaintance management algorithm also leads to a poor acquaintance selection processing time when there is a high number of IDS candidates. The growing number of advanced distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks make acquaintance management potentially end up with an unreliable CIDN acquaintance list, resulting in low decision accuracy. This paper proposes an acquaintance management algorithm based on multi-class risk-cost analysis and merge-sort selection methods. The algorithm implements merge risk-ordered selection to reduce computation complexity. The simulation result showed the reliability of CIDN in reducing the acquaintance selection processing time decreased and increasing the decision accuracy.
