Abstract

After almost 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic hits Indonesia, Work From Home (WFH) has been applied as the new way of working and the employees have now already adapted with WFH. However, in this new normal era, employees are expected to return to the office as in Work From Office (WFO) and it turns out most of them are not ready. This study aimed to describe employee’s readiness to return to the office. This study uses the concept of readiness for change. This study collected 200 participants that are working from home during the pandemic. Using 21 items of readiness for returning to the office questionnaire, consisting 4 dimensions, which are appropriateness, change specific efficacy, management support, and personal valance. Descriptive statistics were applied for data analysis. The findings showed that, in general, participants are showing the readiness for returning to the office. If viewed from all four dimensions, it shows that they’re ready to return to the office; however appropriateness and personal valance dimension could be optimized by increasing employee’s awareness the importance of returning to the office. In addition, there was a significant difference for participants on the line of work groups, tenure, salary, employee’s performance during WFH, and how long they had been working from home.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of perceived discrimination to the psychological well-being of workers with LGBT sexual preferences in DKI Jakarta and whether self-esteem impacts this effect. Respondents in this study consisted of 90 people consisting of 9 people with lesbian sexuality, 29 homosexuals, 30 bisexuals, and 22 transgenders. The method used in this study is a quantitative method that examines the effect of two independent variables on one dependent variable. Based on the results of the regression analysis test, it is known that perceived discrimination has a negative effect on psychological well-being (t = -9,795; p <0,005), meanwhile self-esteem has a positive effect on psychological well-being (t = 10,902; p < 0,05). This result proves the assumption that perceived discrimination can decrease, while self-esteem can increase workers' psychological well-being with LGBT sexual preferences in DKI Jakarta. Meanwhile, the analysis process from Hayes (2017) using SPSS obtained equally significant results, both in the total calculation and the direct effect, indicating that self-esteem partially mediates the effect between perceived discrimination and psychological well-being.

The selection of 104 subjects of this study used a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of students who were taking thesis lectures at one of private universities in Surakarta and had social media. This study uses a quantitative correlation approach with hypothesis testing using Pearson's product moment correlation. Based on the data analysis, the p value <0.05 is 0,000, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be said that there is a relationship between self-control in the use of social media with procrastination to do the final project for students at one of private universities in Surakarta. The results of the correlation coefficient (R) are known to be -0,626, which means that the strength of the correlation between self-control behavior and procrastination on students' final assignments can be said to be strong with a negative correlation direction.
