Abstract

Arfak Highlands Regency is a new autonomous region in West Papua Province with abundant naturalresources. As new autonomous region Arfak Highlands Regency will experienced significant population growth.Population growth along with development and modernization will give burden to electricity demand.Alternatively, electricity could be provides with geothermal resources in Minyambouw District. Based on surveyconducted by the Government trough The Geology Resources Centre in 2009, the reservoir temperature of thegeothermal sources is 86oC with non volcanic geothermal system. Thus, the geothermal resources in ArfakHighlands Regency could be developed into binary cycle electric generator.

Abstract

The application presentation was widely used by most people, such as PowerPoint, offer manyfeatures to make presentation creation become pretty and handy. But then, all the features will restrainuser to prepare a presentation because user can’t use other than those features. Adobe Flash is anapplication with main purpose to create animation in movie or interactive format. By using AdobeFlash features, such as TimeLine and Action Script, we can create dynamic presentation. Not onlyunlimited animations, user can transform the presentation to be interactive presentation, web page, etc.This study used Adobe Flash to create a simple presentation in order to reveal its’ strength andweakness compared to a presentation was created by PowerPoint.

Abstract

The research has been conducted in field scales with comparative descriptive analysis method, using landfarming bioremediation process by mixing oil sludge and soil to reduce water content in mud. To fix the soilporosity compost has been added, this become he end-product bulking agent as well as nutrient sources fordegradation microorganism. The sludge came from Sukowati #4,#6, and #7 oil well JOB Pertamina –PetroChina Tuban, East Java. The goals of the research are to study indigenous microorganism from the wells,to understand the degradation differences between wells, and the benefits of bioremediation for the society. Thefactors that influenced the microorganism oil degradation performance are end-product compost, and organicfertilizer. The society could use the bioremediation water for land filling and bricks. The more time materialgiven for the material to degrade the better the result

Abstract

The study of the reactor in the hydrocracking process still needs to be investigated. This related tothe control effort can be done in hydrocracking reaction with laboratory scale, which is catalytic andreactor functions. This review presents the performance of the reactor in residual percentage (%w/w)with the minimum is 1.78% for feed : catalyst ratio (6), and the percentage of conversion CashewNut Shell Liquid/CNSL that was carried out with the flow rate of H2 at 20 ml/min, the temperature of400oC and variation of the feed : catalyst ratio. The conversion products presented in liquid (themaximum is 65.31% for feed : catalyst ratio (6)), solid/coke (the maximum is 4.38% for feed : catalystratio (6)) and gas (the maximum is 49.35% for feed : catalyst ratio (2)).

Abstract

Terms or tokens are the main component in information retrieval system. The use of them as index andquery affects the performance of the system. This research is conducted to observe how similarity thesaurusimproves the performance of the Indonesian information retrieval system through query expansion. By using 30sets of query and 1.000 documents, series of tests are conducted using different weight of terms in query tomeasure the performance of the system before and after query expansion. By using cosine as similaritymeasurement and the weight of the query terms, the terms used in query expansion can be determined. Twotreatments that were used are by taking 5 (TH5) and 10 (TH10) terms that has the biggest similarity value withthe query. It is found that overall the query expansion improve the performance of the system compared to theone without query expansion (NoTH). However, it also depends on the weight of the terms in the query. On threeexperiment combined with NoTH, TH5, and TH10, the results show that idf is proved to be better used as weightof the terms in query in order to improve the performance of the system, either using query expansion or withoutquery expansion.

Abstract

The recent development is indirectly resulting in an increase of the need of gravel materials. Thus,management efforts should be importantly implemented in mine operations. To run a new mine operation, ananalysis regarding finance planning would be needed in order to determine the amount of cost spent in the wholeactivities of mine operation. One critical point of the financial analysis is the breakeven point method. Thismethod is utilized to estimate the minimum quantity of production based on the operational costs spent.Breakeven point method would also show the correlation patterns between sale volumes, production costs, andreturn levels in each level of sales. In addition, several alternatives in terms of production and cost efficiencycan be derived by implementing this approach. The results showed that the breakeven point of mine activitiesoperated by Pulau Lemon company was Rp. 2,376,444 per hour, while the minimum quantity of production was8.06 tonnes per hour. The implication of the results was that the company should operate above the breakevenpoint to ignore such financial loses.

Abstract

VoIP is a technology that allows telephone calls to be made over computer networks like the Internet. VoIPconverts analog voice signals into digital data packets and supports real-time, two-way transmission ofconversations using Internet Protocol (IP). VoIP calls can be made on the Internet using a VoIP service providerand standard computer audio systems. Abstract

Seismic waves travelling through media are attenuated by the conversion of elastic energy into heat. Uponbeing attenuated, the travelling wave changes: amplitude is reduced, travelling waveform is modified due tohigh-frequency content absorption, and phase is delayed. In this study, the effect of attenuation on seismic datawas reduced by applying inverse Q filter method. Application of inverse Q filter on seismic data, can improve thequality and resolution of data. Improving the seismic data quality and its resolution can be seen at seismicattributes (Instantaneous Amplitude) of seismic data. The results of study indicate that the seismic attributes(instantaneous amplitude) would be better if the inverse Q filter was applied.

Abstract

The Yield of a photoreduction process of chromium(VI) or Cr (VI) catalyzed by ZnO semiconductorstructured in the zeolite/ZnO-zeolite (ZnO-Z) can be influenced by several factors, including the exposure timeand the initial concentration of the Cr (VI) solution. In this study, the photoreduction process of Cr (VI) iscarried out in a closed batch reactor equipped with a magnetic stirrer and a 38 Watt UV lamp. A total of 50 mLof a Cr(VI) solution and 25 mg of ZnO-Z was used to study the effect of exposure time and the initialconcentration of the Cr(VI)solution to the yield of its photoreduction process. The concentrations of Cr (VI) weredetermined by UV-Vis spectrophotometer using difenilkarbazid method. To determine the catalyst performanceof ZnO-Z in the photoreduction process, an examination of the catalyst in the form of bulk ZnO (ZnO bulkform)has been done. The results showed that the optimum exposure time in the photoreduction process of Cr (VI)catalyzed by ZnO-Z is 25 hours and the optimum initial concentration of Cr (VI) is 25 mg/L. Photoreductionyield of Cr (VI) by catalyst ZnO-Z is higher than the ZnO bulkform.
