Abstract

The advancement of technology has brought changes in the use of Balinese language for the Balinese. The Balinese language has been set aside in numerous domains of life. To conserve and preserve the existence of Baline language, steps need to be taken in accommodating said advancement of technology to attract the younger generation interest. This paper discusses the idea to use audiobook as a medium to revitalize the masatua Bali (Balinese story telling) tradition as a form of language exposure to the young learners. The use of satua Baliaudiobook should follow the six principles of delivering audio materials and abide to the systematic steps of pre-listening, while listening, and post-listening steps. This steps would ensure the attainment of multiple benefits of the satua Baliaudiobook, namely, exposure of Balinese language to the young learners, fostering the noble values in satua Bali, and at the same time improving the quality of emotional relationship between the parents and the children

Abstract

The high school is the last level in the framework of basic education, which prepares students to continue their education or to college, or to the largest number work in the society. Especially if we remember this second possibility, that possibility can not be avoided by the majority of high school graduates as a result of the state of our education today, then we should be really concerned. These concerns are not just demanding to pitch our chest, but and even more demanding of ourselves efforts to bridge the gaps between reality and expectations of education

Abstract

Gaguritan Prawerti Dharma is a literary work that contains the teachings of the Hindu religious morals namely Dasa Sila, Mala Tri, Tri Yadnya, Catur Prawerti, Catur Varna, Catur Paramitha, Sad Varga, Tri Parartha, and Daiwi and Asuri Sampad. The Hinduism contained in Gaguritan Prawerti Dharma teaches that every person should always make the moral teachings as a guide in any behavior that could be realized life in safety and peace. In addition Gaguritan Prawerti Dharma should teach humans which in this case is the Hindus, to be able to refrain from any wild desire. Gaguritan Dharma Prawerti containing Dharma teachings of morality really appropriate and relevant when used as a guideline for behavior. Current state of society who tend to behave the hedonistic, consumerist, materialistic, and pragmatic, if not matched by affirmation teachings of morality in every individual would bring the society to destruction and chaos. Thus why the moral teachings in life should always be upheld.

Abstract

This paper aims to present the idea of the relevance of Hindu’s literature with character education which is currently being encouraged to raised up back in the learning process. Education in general and religious education is basically aimed at forming good character. But today there’s a phenomenon of moral degradation among teenagers, although there’s also the others which has a good moral and character. One of the effort that can be choose to support character education is by reviving religious literature. Literature in Indonesia has existed since the entry of Hindu’s influence to the archipelago. Even in the range of X century, King Dharmawangsa Teguh initiated a project known as “mangjawaken byasamata” or to translating to the Java language the teachings of Bhagavan Vyasa. Hindu’s literature nowadays is still well preserved especially in Bali. Bali as the savior of Hindu’s literature and not only protecting literary works but also developed forms of other literary works. Hindu’s literature to support the efforts of the character education is Sarasamuccaya and Canakya Nitisastra. The values in it, is still relevant in today’s life and a valuable asset for character education. Its need to practice and accustom these teachings so that the purpose of education to humanize humans, and to realize humans could be achieved.

Abstract

Malat Cowak a traditional literary works shaped hymn often sing Padangbulia society. This kidung serves as a companion religious ceremonie’s such as, pitra yadnya and manusia yadnya. But when song, chants significant they can only be interpreted by readers based on the dictionary meaning only. As an active reader, a work of literature, especially the kidung, various kinds of theories and methods in the process of interpretation of the meaning. One way is to analyze the sound system that ties each end of words in one verse. Study of the sound system in linguistics is based on the study of phonology. Science that examines the sound system can be done with two analysis: analysis of segmental and suprasegmental.
