Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of CHSE and Halal certification on tourist intentions to visit halal restaurants in the halal tourism area of Lombok Island. It is crucial as it represents the first comprehensive investigation into the interaction between CHSE certification and halal certification in the context of behavioral studies. This study uses a quantitative approach, namely the structural equation model-partial least square with a Likert scale survey with a total of 100 Muslim tourists as respondents. The findings of this study indicate that CHSE certification does not exert a direct influence on intention; however, it does impact intention indirectly through the mediation of trust. In contrast, halal certification demonstrates a significant positive effect on tourist intentions, both directly and indirectly, with trust serving as a mediating variable. This research recommends that the government continue promoting CHSE and halal certification among halal tourism entrepreneurs. Additionally, given the limited sample size of respondents in this study, future research should aim to encompass a broader demographic across Indonesia.

Abstract

In the beginning, the business needed only more financial capital. However, now, social capital is also vital in building a business. One business model that only requires a little financial capital but needs social capital is the angkringan business. Angkringan business in the Ir. H. Juanda Street area of Ponorogo is currently increasing. The survival of the angkringan business must be connected to the role of the Juanda Zone Perpek-5 Association, which houses the cooperative network between traders. This study aims to reveal how the form of social capital is used and the implications of social capital on the survival of angering businesses. This research is qualitative, with the type of field study research that uses a phenomenological approach and an interdisciplinary approach that utilises economics and social sciences. The results showed five forms of social capital employed in the angkringan business: networking, reciprocity, trust, norms and values, and proactive action. Second, using these forms of social capital has significant implications for the survival of the angkringan business, including capital, human resources, production, and marketing. At the same time, three kinds of strategies are used: active, passive, and network. Of the three methods, the network strategy is the primary strategy that will determine the survival of the angkringan business.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the determinants influencing foreign investment flows in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries and to directly analyze the moderating effect of political stability. The research utilizes secondary data from 50 OIC countries covering the period from 2012 to 2022. The study adopts the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimation technique to analyze the data. The findings reveal that inflation has a significant positive effect on foreign investment flows. Meanwhile, interest rates, labor force participation, and the Human Development Index (HDI) have significant yet non-positive effects. The HDI variable has a negative and insignificant effect. Furthermore, the political stability variable is able to strengthen the moderating influence of the interest rate on foreign direct investment, except for the inflation, labor force, exchange rate, and human development index variables. The conclusion, by incorporating the impact of political stability, governments can reduce political risks faced by investors and enhance their countries' attractiveness as credible investment destinations.

Abstract

Rapid economic development has significantly impacted the environment, particularly through carbon emissions, threatening human survival. Indonesia, a major global emitter, aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2060 through a low-carbon economy plan. Justice, a key Islamic principle, is essential in this transition to ensure both worldly and spiritual welfare. This study analyzes the integration of distributive, procedural, and corrective justice in Indonesia's low-carbon economy policies. Using a qualitative critical approach and literature review of policy documents, academic studies, and government reports, the study identifies the role of justice in low-carbon development. Findings reveal that distributive justice demands equitable access to renewable energy resources and subsidies for low-income households. Procedural justice underscores the need for transparency and public participation, as seen in the inclusive formulation of Indonesia's Enhanced Nationally Determined Contributions (ENDC). Corrective justice involves compensatory measures, including job retraining for coal industry workers and ecosystem restoration in deforested areas. The study concludes that achieving justice in a low-carbon economy requires equitable benefit distribution and the prevention of marginalization. Transparent, participatory policies are crucial to address socio-economic impacts while promoting sustainable development. This approach aligns with Islamic values, advocating for balance between individual and societal welfare in transitioning to a low-carbon economy.
