Abstract

This research is titled Effectiveness of Operating Revenue On Regional Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Musi Palembang. This study was aimed to find out how the operating revenue of PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang, and also to find out factors that inhibiting the operating revenue of PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang. The method used in this research was a qualitative method. The results showed that revenues have not been effective because the target was not achieved and non-water sales revenue was decreased. The input owned by PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang was good. However, PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang still has not done well in utilizing the water. The feedback conducted by PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang was quite good, although not as a whole. There were also 2 inhibiting factor in the operating revenues of PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang, namely: the internal factor s which were the limited human resources and a low level of supervision, and the external factors which were the lack of customer awareness in paying water bills and frauds that occurs in society.

Abstract

Communication in organization is very necessary. Because if the organization without good communication, then the common goal will not be achieved. So that’s why, the effective and efficient communication systems are needed. Communication is not only can be done through verbal, but it also can be done through the writing. Based on the context above, the purpose of this research is to answer the question of how the Communications System of Organization in the development of Communication Studies at Faculty of Social and Politic Science, Raden Fatah Islamic State University . The methodology used in this research is descriptive, with qualitative approach. The theory for this research is using organizational information theory from karl Weick. The researcher will do observation, interview, guidelines, and documentation. Data collection techniques are primary data and secondary data. The data collection technique in this research is using primary data in the form of interview data from informants that were considered relevant and become the main source in this reserch, then secondary data that use official records such as documentations, books, etc. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions is used for data analysis techniques. The theory used is organization information. System is the absolute form (structure). Communication is a message delivered from the communicator to the communicant through verbal or writings then the occurrence of feedback. Organizations are a number of individuals organized to achieved certain goals. The organizational communication system used by Communication Study Program is a star pattern. Communication is carried out by not only work hour, but also the familiarity outside woring hoursthey do. The media which are used such as whatsapp, email, instagram, telephone, or in person. Barriers that occur are the lack of employess in updating information through online media, language, and distances. Communicaton between the employees occur in openness and good relationships are established. Communication that occurs is very positive. All stakeholders in the Communication Study Program, Faculty of Social and Politic Science are very open with staffs, lectures, and students.

Abstract

Communication is very important role for human life in socializing even in the teaching and learning process. This study describes prophetic communication in Islamic boarding school which aims to understand the process of prophetic communication in inviting non-resident Islamic Boarding School students to memorize the Qur'an. This study presents two substance problems, namely: 1) How does the implementation of prophetic communication in inviting non-resident students to memorize Al-Qur'an at Al-Ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School ?. 2) What are the obstacles encountered when inviting non-resident students to memorize the Qur'an? To obtain answers to the problems above, this study uses descriptive qualitative research methods of analysis that is grouping data according to their categories and outlining all concepts related to the research discussion. The data sources of this study are non-resident students and tahfizh teachers of Al-Ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School. Furthermore, data collection methods used are through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained will be analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research uses the theory of message reinforcement (reinforcement theory). The results of this study indicate that prophetic communication conducted by Al-Ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School, namely the teachers communicate well (ma'ruf) to their students, so that it has a good effect on the students. Then provide motivation that can increase the spirit of memorizing the students. Socialization was also held by Islamic boarding schools by giving awards to high-achieving students. While the inhibiting factor in inviting non-resident students to memorize the Qur'an is, it is difficult to communicate directly with students because of the influence of distance. Then the residential environment that does not support where non-resident students do not live in boarding school resulting negligence in memorizing and inhibiting the process of memorizing students.

Abstract

The era of Technology and Information which is now completely practical and fast certainly makes many people want to try to participate in it. Smartphones are smart phones that have evolved to this day become a tool that can be used by many people to not only communicate, but also to entertain themselves, to get information, learn to work and online selling. Smartphones are getting more and more years, so they are growing rapidly, especially to the millennial generation and the current generation Z is feared to be able to influence changes in their daily behavior. Smartphones that become daily needs for teenagers will certainly be viewed from various sides, whether a big positive and negative affect on the behavior that they apply every day. The number of smartphone users from existing data shows the amount of enthusiasm of teenagers to access the internet through smartphones. This research was made with the title "Effect of Smartphone Use on Changes in Student Behavior (Case Study of Senior High School Number 5 Palembang Students). Has a formulation of the problem of how the influence of smartphone usage on student behavior changes in senior high school 5 Palembang. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of smartphones on the change in student behavior in state high school number 5 Palembang. This research uses quantitative methods. The source of the data used is obtained through questionnaires, observations and interviews. And using data analysis techniques, namely descriptive analysis techniques and inferential analysis techniques. The theoretical framework used is the theory of Social Penetration. Based on the analysis of the data used and the simple Linear test, it was concluded that the use of smartphones has a very big influence on the changes in student behavior in senior high school number 5 Palembang. In this case it was also found that smartphone usage had a positive effect on changes in student behavior in senior high school number 5 Palembang.

Abstract

Analysing cigarette advertisements that existed in ancient times, is an interesting study. Not only because the study is a study of the past, but the adverts in which make the figure of a woman become one of the most important icons in the process of marketing cigarette products. Starting from exposing women's bodies, to the brands of cigarettes taken from women's names. Photos or pictures contained therein have meaning and signs on the sheet, so this is the main object seen by a reader in interpreting the photo. it means that each photo has important points to study. Research entitled: Image of Women in Cigarette Products in the 1930-1950 Era in Indonesia. Aims to read the meaning that is written in it by describing the socio-cultural situation, maybe the politics around it or the ideological meanings contained therein. The methodology used in this research is descriptive, with a qualitative approach. The meaning referred to in this study is the meaning based on analysis using Roland Batrhes's Theory of Semiotics which is the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth. The meanings will appear on every sign that is captured by the reader through the five senses that are interpreted based on knowledge, and also the existing history of this study focuses on the past. The number of photos to be analyzed consists of three photos, which will be divided into several sections. With one photo to be broken down into objects, it aims to make it easier to read the meanings and meanings of denotations, the myths that are in it. As well as knowing the intention of the cigarette ad image maker, so that it can contain the formation of the image formed. There are 3 images formed from the results of a study of the advertisement photos of cigarette products, these are: image frames, imagery of fusion, and social imagery.

Abstract

Human rights is an idea that have a long process in the history of human civilization. Human rights always have a correlative relationship with human duty because of the nature of human nature as individuals and social beings. Human Rights has incuded in the Constitution of the Republic Indonesia UUD-RI 1945. The history of the Indonesian nation records the occurrence of various gross human rights violations such as crimes against humanity that occurred in East Timor, Aceh, Jakarta and in some other areas that have not completed the handling, whereas in the field of legislation of the Government of Indonesia has made various efforts to make laws and ratify them from various international instruments on human rights. This is due to the unrelated legislation existing with the political will of the government. Political science is concerned with the state's governance, State’s governance deals with key officials setting policy directions including human rights policies. For the public it is important to study political science so that the public can contribute to the political will of the government in the field of law enforcement of human rights in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explains the efforts of the South Sumatra Provincial Election Commission in increasing the political participation of the people of South Sumatra in the 2018 Simultaneous Local Election and 2019 Concurrent Elections. Democracy is determined by the voice of the people, and is closely related to legitimacy "the fewer choose the lower legitimacy, the more they choose high legitimacy. "Legitimacy is very important because of the initial legitimacy of everything in the process of implementing power from the leader. The problem in this study is how the South Sumatra Provincial Election Commission's efforts in increasing community political participation in the 2018 simultaneous regional elections and 2019 simultaneous elections, and public response to the efforts made by the South Sumatra Provincial Election Commission. This study aims to describe the efforts of the KPU of South Sumatra Province and find out the public response to the efforts of the KPU of South Sumatra Province. Theoretically this research is useful to be a reference in the study of political science and is able to become a reference in future research related to the ongoing democracy in Indonesia and the practical benefits of being able to become input to the KPU of South Sumatra Province. The theory used by researchers is Max Weber's legitimacy theory where this theory explains how important participation is to legitimacy. By using descriptive type method and qualitative approach, the data obtained by using interviews, observation, and documentation. Researcher's location is at the KPU of South Sumatra Province. The results of the study show that the KPU of South Sumatra Province has made 350 efforts to increase the political participation of the people. The result prived that the political participation percentage in crease from 63% in 2013, 69,2% in 2018, and 81,42% in 2019. Efforts to increase people's political participation will continue to be increased.

Abstract

This research related to the Strategic of the political party coalition of the AW Noviandi and Ilyas Panji Alam in the local elections of Ogan ilir Regency 2015. Panji Alam is carried out so that it is able to achieve sound votes that are quite large from the other candidates. Research objects: party administrators involved in the AW Noviandi and Ilyas Panji Alam coalition partners. This research use the theory of Arend Lijphard's political party coalition theory, minimal-winning coalition, minimum range coalition, minimum size coalition, bargaining position, minimal connected winning coalitions, policy- viable coalition and the theory of Peter Schorder The political strategy is divided into two: offensive (attacking) and defensive (defensive) strategies. The offensive strategy is divided into two, namely the strategy to expand the market and strategies to penetrate the market. While the defensive strategy is a strategy to maintain the market. This research is explained in two stages; the process of building coalitions and party considerations in partnership, Strategy of the Carrying Party for the Winning of AW Noviandi Mawardi-Ilyas Panji Alam, Type of descriptive research through a qualitative approach with case study methods of type of field research. Sources of data in this study are parties directly involved in the problems under study. Data was collected by in-depth interview techniques and documentation. Data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that in the victory of Noviandi and Ilyas Panji Alam in the OI 2015 Election could not be separated from the influence of supporting parties which moved party cadres through offensive and defensive political strategies to run well and effectively embrace the community, maintaining the period of permanent voters and seasonal voters.

Abstract

This research explain a series of developments related Iran's nuclear program that can cause conflict and displeasure particularly when Iran face the westrn country. The research takes two main problems,including the history of the emergence of Iran's nuclear program, and how the dynamics of Iran's nuclear development and the response of Middle Eastern countries. The results of the research that the history of the emergence of Iran's nuclear program in 1957 and in it is collaboration between Mohammad Shah Reza Pahlavi and the United States when Dwight D. Eisenhower become USA president. Then the Iraq-Iran war could affect the spirit to continue Iran's nuclear program. Furthermore, Rasfanjani has focused to the Iranian people welfare and emphasized his nuclear interests to become a fowerfull country and to protect iran country. however, Iran sanctioned by the United States which makes it difficult for Iran to export oil and gas.

Abstract

Election of Regional Heads of South Sumatra Province has been held in 2018 with 4 pairs of candidates participated and won by the couple Herman Deru and Mawardi Yahya. The interesting thing from this research is that there has been intense competition between the four Paslon. Where each candidate, previously served as regional head in several districts in South Sumatra. The victory of this couple did not escape the winning strategy that they have implemented. The problem discussed in this study is how the process of the campaign implemented by Herman Deru and Mawardi Yahya in the South Sumatra Regional Election in 2018 and what the winning strategy used by the Paslon. The researcher uses the strategy theory from Kotten where in this theory it is stated that there are 4 types of winning strategies namely organizational strategy, program strategy, resource strategy, and institutional strategy. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. Methods of collecting data from this study through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that of the 4 types of winning strategies as proposed by Kotten, the four strategies have been implemented by the couple Herman Deru and Mawardi Yahya. The strategy they use is different from the strategies used by other partners such as organizational strategy. Specifically in the program section and how to campaign through social media. And there are 4 stages of the campaign process set by the South Sumatra KPU in the South Sumatra Regional Election in the 2018-2023 period, namely public debates, distribution of campaign materials, installation of campaign props, and campaign advertisements in the media.
